PPSC Interview Documents in Punjab: Bring a Marks Certificate, Not a CGPA

PPSC wants a marks or percentage certificate for every degree, council registration, proof of firm registration and an HEC equivalence certificate at interview.

Short answer: For a PPSC interview, bring a marks certificate or percentage certificate for every degree, issued by the competent authority. A CGPA is not accepted. Also bring your regulatory registration, proof of private experience, an equivalence certificate if you claim one, and a no objection certificate if you are in service.

Candidates in Punjab often spend months on the written test and then lose their seat at the interview table over a missing paper. PPSC prints its document rules in every advertisement. Almost nobody reads the small print at the bottom.

We read the notes printed on PPSC Advertisement No. 10/2026 on 13 October 2026, as published on the commission's website. This is the same set of notes the commission puts on its advertisements, but each new advertisement should be checked for changes. The closing date of that advertisement was 5 October 2026, so we use it only as the source of the rules, not as a job to apply for.

A marks certificate is needed for every degree

PPSC says you must provide a marks obtained and total marks certificate, or a percentage certificate, for all degrees. It must be issued by the competent authority. The notice says plainly that CGPA is not acceptable.

This catches many university graduates. Their transcript shows a CGPA, such as 3.2 out of 4. The commission wants marks, or a percentage, in a certificate from the university or board.

Ask your university for the certificate early. It can take days or weeks, and the office may be shut in the holiday season. Do not leave it until you receive the interview letter.

If your question is about marks in a PPSC test, that is a different paper. The page on how to get your PPSC detailed marks certificate covers it.

Marks certificate accepted and CGPA not accepted at a PPSC interview

Bring your registration card if the post needs one

For some posts the service rules ask for registration with a regulatory body. The notes name PEC, PNC, PMDC, PMC and PVMC, and other relevant bodies. You must have obtained or applied for that registration on or before the closing date, and show it at the interview.

The advertisement itself spells out the details for each post. For example, a Veterinary Officer post asks for valid registration with the Pakistan Veterinary Medical Council, valid up to the closing date, or proof that you applied for renewal. A nursing post accepts proof that you applied to the Pakistan Nursing Council on or before the closing date, in some cases.

So read the Note box under your own post. If it says proof of application is enough, bring a stamped and signed proof from the council. Then check your eligibility early, as the page on checking PPSC eligibility criteria and the job description explains.

Private experience must be backed by a registered employer

If you claim experience at a private firm, PPSC says you must bring proof that the firm is registered with SECP, the Registrar of Firms or any other regulatory authority. Without it, your application is rejected. The proof must show the firm was a registered body during the period of experience you claim.

That last line matters. A firm registered last year cannot back experience from five years ago. Collect the registration certificate and an experience letter that matches the dates.

An equivalence certificate must come from the right office

If you claim that your degree equals the one required, PPSC says you must submit an equivalence certificate. It must be issued by the Higher Education Commission, or by the Qualification Equivalence Determination Committee of the concerned department. The commission accepts it as final. If you fail to submit it at the interview or whenever asked, your candidature is cancelled.

A foreign degree is the usual case. The page on getting HEC equivalence for a foreign degree shows the steps. Start well before the closing date, because the certificate is not something you can get overnight.

Also note one more rule. Staff of the federal government, semi-government and autonomous federal bodies, and local bodies, are not entitled to an age concession for the period of their service there.

Follow the commission's website, not messages

PPSC says no information shared by anyone other than the commission website is authentic. Test schedules and syllabus are issued only there, and the commission asks candidates to visit often. Shorthand and typing tests are held only in Lahore.

  1. Open the PPSC website directly and save the advertisement PDF.
  2. Read the Note box under your post and the 12 general notes.
  3. Make a list of every document named, with a date for when each will be ready.
  4. Collect originals and photocopies, and keep a spare set.
  5. Check the website for the interview schedule every week.

Be careful with calls and groups that claim to offer a seat. The page on fake online job offers in Pakistan lists the warning signs.

Five steps to prepare PPSC interview documents

What to do if a post count changes

The advertisement says that if a department increases or decreases the number of posts, no fresh applications are invited. So apply on time even for a post with few seats. You cannot count on a second chance if the number grows.

Also remember that these notes are for the advertisement we read. A different advertisement can carry different notes. Always read the one you apply under.

Common questions

Does PPSC accept a CGPA?

No. The advertisement notes say CGPA is not acceptable and ask for a marks or percentage certificate for all degrees.

When do I show my documents?

At the interview, or whenever the commission asks for them.

Does private job experience count?

It can, but you must prove the firm was registered with SECP, the Registrar of Firms or another regulator during the years you claim.

Who can issue an equivalence certificate?

The Higher Education Commission or the department's Qualification Equivalence Determination Committee.

Where are PPSC typing tests held?

Only in Lahore, according to the advertisement notes.

Can I trust a call about my PPSC interview date?

No. PPSC says anything not shared on its own website is not authentic.

How we verified this

What we checked, where we read it, and what we could not confirm.

Last checked on 13 October 2026, Pakistan time. We read the general notes on PPSC Advertisement No. 10/2026 from the commission website. Note 6 on the no objection certificate was partly garbled in the PDF text, so we describe it briefly and advise reading it in your own advertisement. Rules can differ by advertisement and post.
