Check PPSC Eligibility Criteria and Job Description Before You Apply in Punjab
PPSC publishes an eligibility sheet and job description for each case. See where to find them, what the sheet lists and the document rules that sink forms.

Short answer: Before you pay the fee, open PPSC's "Guidance For Eligibility / Scrutiny Criteria" page, find your case number and read the sheet. Then open the "Job Description" page for the duties. The sheet tells you the qualification, the age limit, the closing date and the original documents you must hold.
Some candidates apply, pay and then discover that their degree shows only CGPA, or that their domicile is dated after the closing date. The sheet says so in plain words. Reading it takes five minutes.
We read PPSC's eligibility and job description pages, and four of the sheets, on 12 October 2026. The details below come from those sheets.
PPSC publishes a sheet and a job description for each case
The Punjab Public Service Commission gives each advertised case two documents. One is the eligibility (scrutiny) guidance. The other is the job description. Both are on the PPSC website as PDFs, listed by case number, post and department with an upload date.
On 12 October 2026 the newest eligibility sheet was for case 59G2026, Assistant Regional Manager in the Agriculture Department, uploaded that day. The home page also showed a new batch of job descriptions on 12 October.
| Page | Where on ppsc.gop.pk | What it gives |
|---|---|---|
| Eligibility / Scrutiny Criteria | Information Desk menu | Qualification, age, documents and warnings for each case |
| Job Description | Information Desk menu | Duties and responsibilities for the post |
| Jobs | Home page, Jobs | Closing date, fee and case numbers |
| Upcoming Jobs | Jobs section | Advance notice of jobs, empty on 12 October |

The eligibility sheet fixes qualification, age and closing date
A sheet opens with the subject: the number of posts, the quotas inside them, the type of appointment and the case number. Then it lists the qualification, the age limit and the closing date.
The closing date is more than a deadline. The sheets use it to judge your papers. A valid registration certificate, a domicile certificate and a disability certificate must be issued on or before it, and your CNIC must not be expired on the last day of applying.
For example, the sheet for Assistant Regional Manager (case 59G2026, eight posts) asks for a B.Sc in Agricultural Engineering or in Civil or Mechanical Engineering, at least second division, plus registration with the Pakistan Engineering Council. The age limit is 20 to 35 with 5 years relaxation for men and 8 for women. The closing date is 26 October 2026.
Five document rules cause most rejections
The sheets repeat the same rules. They are easy to miss in an advertisement and plain on the sheet.
- Your CNIC must be valid on the last day of applying online.
- If your degree shows only CGPA, you need a detailed marks certificate or a percentage certificate from the Controller of Examinations. PPSC does not accept CGPA.
- If your degree is an equivalent, you must obtain the equivalence certificate well before the written test or interview.
- Your domicile certificate must be issued on or before the closing date.
- If you are in government service, you need the departmental permission or no objection certificate from the appointing authority. For some cases it is needed at the interview.

A person who does not hold the prescribed qualification is not eligible even after passing the written test. The sheets say so directly.
Concealing a fact bars you from the interview
Every sheet we read ends with a warning. Candidates who conceal any information will not be allowed to appear in the interview. It is printed in capital letters.
That matters because the written test comes first, and the check of your original documents comes later. A candidate can pass the test and still be stopped at scrutiny. Report your age, experience and qualification as the papers show them, not as you wish they did.
PPSC also publishes a list of disqualified and debarred candidates. How people end up on it is explained in the report on avoiding a PPSC ban.
How to find and read your sheet in five steps
You need only the case number printed in the advertisement, such as 5K2026 or 59G2026. If you do not have it, find it on the Jobs page next to your post.
- Note the case number and the closing date from the advertisement.
- Open ppsc.gop.pk and go to Information Desk, then Eligibility / Scrutiny Criteria.
- Find your case number and open the PDF. Read the qualification and the age limit first.
- Open the Job Description page and read the duties, so you know what the job is.
- Match each document on the sheet with the one you hold, and fix the gaps before you pay.

If a sheet for your case has not been posted yet, check again a few days later. The Commission uploads them in batches, and some arrive after the advertisement. Then pay and apply as shown in the guide to applying for a PPSC job and getting your roll number slip.
Where the sheet and the advertisement can differ
A sheet can be more detailed than the newspaper text. In the veterinary cases we read, the sheet adds that a registration certificate applied for before the closing date but issued after it still counts. You will not see that in a short advertisement.
If the two disagree, ask PPSC. The Commission says candidates should view the FAQs on its website for alternatives if they lose a document such as the original domicile or the equivalence certificate. For a guide to one such round of posts, see the report on PPSC veterinary officer posts.
Common questions

On ppsc.gop.pk under Information Desk, in the page named Guidance For Eligibility / Scrutiny Criteria. Look up your case number.
Does PPSC accept a degree with CGPA only?

Which date is used to judge my documents?
The closing date. Domicile, registration and disability certificates must be issued on or before it.
What happens if I hide a fact on my form?

How we verified this
What we checked, where we read it, and what we could not confirm.
Checked on 12 October 2026 on the PPSC eligibility guidance page, the job description page and four PPSC sheets for cases 59G2026, 5K2026 and 4K2026. Sheets are updated by PPSC, so read yours again before you pay.
