Short answer: PPSC Advertisement 11/2026 invites applications for 40 Veterinary Officer posts (BS-17) and 61 Senior Veterinary Officer posts (BS-18) in the Livestock and Dairy Development Department, Punjab. Both are on contract for five years. The fee is Rs 600 for each post and the last date is 26 October 2026. Apply online at ppsc.gop.pk only.

These are two of the larger lists in the advertisement. They are different posts with different rules, so read the right case number: 5K2026 for Veterinary Officer and 4K2026 for Senior Veterinary Officer.

We read the PPSC Jobs page and the Commission's eligibility sheets for both cases on 12 October 2026. Everything below comes from them.

PPSC has 101 veterinary posts open until 26 October

The two cases together hold 101 posts. Both were advertised on 9 October 2026, and both close on 26 October 2026.

PPSC veterinary officer and senior veterinary officer posts in Advertisement 11/2026

The Veterinary Officer case covers three titles in one: Veterinary Officer, Semen Distribution Officer and Instructor. The Senior Veterinary Officer case covers many titles, such as Assistant Director (HQR), Deputy Director Livestock at Tehsil level and Senior Veterinary Officer Animal Health. Read your own title on the PPSC page.

Veterinary Officer needs a DVM and a PVMC registration

For Veterinary Officer (BS-17), PPSC asks for a DVM degree from a recognised university and a valid registration with the Pakistan Veterinary Medical Council (PVMC). The registration certificate must have been issued on or before the closing date.

The sheet adds two relief rules. A candidate who applied for first registration before the closing date is held eligible even if the certificate comes after it. A candidate who applied for renewal after the closing date is also held eligible.

The age limit is 21 to 30 years for the base range. With relaxation it reaches 35 years for men and 38 years for women. Age relaxation rules vary by case, and a guide to how age relaxation works for federal jobs shows the idea, though PPSC's own sheet is the rule for these posts.

Senior Veterinary Officer has four routes and needs experience

For Senior Veterinary Officer (BS-18), PPSC lists four routes, and every route needs a basic veterinary degree and PVMC registration.

RouteQualificationExperience
1PhD in Veterinary Sciences or Animal HusbandryNone stated
2M.Phil or M.Sc (Hons), second division, in Veterinary Sciences or Animal Husbandry3 years in BS-17 or above, or equivalent private sector experience
3Master's, second division, in Project Management, Management Sciences, Policy Studies, Economics, Development or Business Administration4 years in BS-17 or above, or equivalent private sector experience
4DVM degree5 years in BS-17 or above, or equivalent private sector experience

Private sector experience must be duly accredited by the Pakistan Veterinary Medical Council under the Department's procedure. The experience certificate must show job duties and the exact start and end dates, and only practical and administrative experience after the required qualification counts.

The age limit is 30 to 45 years for the base range, rising to 50 for men and 53 for women with relaxation.

Documents PPSC asks you to keep ready

Both sheets list original documents you will need if called. Prepare them before you start the online form.

  1. A valid CNIC that has not expired on the last day of applying.
  2. The matric or O level certificate showing date of birth and marks.
  3. The intermediate or A level certificate showing marks.
  4. The degree with the detailed marks certificate. PPSC does not accept CGPA alone, so ask your university for a percentage certificate if your transcript shows only CGPA.
  5. The PVMC registration certificate.
  6. The domicile certificate, issued on or before the closing date.
  7. For government employees, the departmental permission or no objection certificate from the appointing authority.
  8. For special persons, the disability certificate issued on or before the closing date.

Candidates who hold an equivalent degree must get the equivalence certificate before the written test or interview. The Punjab domicile steps are in the guide on applying for a domicile certificate.

How to apply and pay the Rs 600 fee

PPSC takes applications online only. It lets you deposit the fee at ATMs, through mobile and internet banking, JazzCash, Easypaisa, other microfinance banks or at the counter of a 1Link member bank. It does not accept the old 32-A challan form, bank drafts, pay orders or cheques.

When you pay at a bank, use the PSID from your application and the "GoPb" biller option. The full steps, including the roll number slip, are in the guide to applying for a PPSC job and getting your roll number slip.

Five steps to apply for a PPSC veterinary post

Do not wait for the last day. PPSC's page says "do not wait for the last date, apply now". The wider list of posts in the same round is in the report on PPSC Advertisement 11/2026.
