Proton's warranty in Pakistan is 5 years from first registration or 150,000 km, whichever comes first, with power window parts covered for 10 years or 250,000 km and genuine spare parts for 6 months or 10,000 km. It applies to the Saga and the X70, but only if every periodic service is done at an authorised Proton dealer.

Al-Haj Automotive assembles and sells Proton cars in Pakistan. We read Proton Pakistan's warranty page, its service booking page and its contact page on 1 November 2026. The terms below are Proton's own wording, put into plain English.

Proton's basic warranty is 5 years or 150,000 km

Proton says its vehicles have a basic warranty of 5 years from the date of first registration or 150,000 km, whichever comes first. The page says all Proton parts fitted to the car are covered by this basic warranty, apart from the items listed below.

What is coveredHow longWhichever comes first
Basic warranty, whole vehicle5 years from first registrationor 150,000 km
Power window regulator, switches, motor and run channel10 years from first registrationor 250,000 km
Listed engine wear itemsNot covered after 3 yearsor 100,000 km
Genuine spare parts bought later6 months from purchaseor 10,000 km

The clock starts on the date of first registration, not the date you collect the car. If the car sat at the dealer before registration, check the date on your registration book.

Some engine parts stop being covered after 3 years or 100,000 km

Proton says certain engine parts wear out with normal use, so they are not covered beyond 3 years from first registration or 100,000 km, whichever comes first. After that point a fault in them is a paid repair, even inside the 5 year window.

The list on the page is long: high tension leads and cables, all cables including the wiring harness, all hoses and tubes, clamps and clips, engine mountings, the oil pan, piston rings, oil seals, core plugs, breathers, the turbocharger assembly, sensors and bearings.

That matters most on a turbocharged engine, because the turbocharger assembly is on the list. Ask the dealer whether your variant has a turbo, and if you plan to keep the car past 100,000 km, budget for that repair yourself.

Missing a service or using an outside workshop voids the cover

Proton's first two exclusions are the ones owners trip over. A car that has not had the periodic services in its service booklet is not covered, and neither is any service done by a workshop that is not an authorised Proton dealer.

The page lists 15 exclusions in all. The ones most likely to matter:

  • Damage from misuse, such as racing or overloading, or from an accident, neglect or modification.
  • Repairs caused by non-genuine parts, lubricants or additives not approved by Proton.
  • Normal wear parts replaced at a service: spark plugs, timing belts, wiper blades, brake pads, clutches, bulbs, fuses, filters and fluids.
  • Paint chips, scratches, fading and damage from the weather, sea air, bird droppings or industrial dust.
  • Glass damage, unless it is proven to be a manufacturing defect.
  • Towing, taxi or rental costs, fuel, hotel bills and lost time.
  • Defects you could have spotted and accepted when you took delivery.
  • Faults from accessories not fitted by Proton.

The delivery point is worth a moment. Inspect the car carefully before you sign for it, because a defect you could have seen and accepted at handover may not be covered later.

What the Proton warranty does not cover in Pakistan

How to claim the Proton warranty

Take the car to an authorised Proton dealer as soon as you find the fault, with your service booklet. Proton's service page says to bring a defect in early so a small fault does not become a breakdown. The dealer checks the claim against the warranty terms.

  1. Note the fault, the date and the mileage when it started.
  2. Book a service visit on Proton's online booking page, or call your dealer.
  3. Take the service booklet showing every periodic service stamped.
  4. Ask the dealer to record the fault on a job card and say if it is under warranty.
  5. If the claim is refused, ask for the reason in writing and call 111-776-866.

The online booking form asks for your name, contact number, city, dealer, email, query and car variant. Proton says its representative confirms the appointment by email or phone.

Steps to claim the Proton warranty at a dealer in Pakistan

Proton's helpline and contacts for a refused claim

Proton Pakistan lists 111-776-866 and 021-34100521 to 524 as its phone numbers, info@proton.com.pk as its email and WhatsApp on 0301-6000999. Put a refused claim in writing by email, with the job card attached.

If the head office does not settle it, a provincial consumer court is the next step. The process and notice rules are in taking a company to consumer court. Other makers' terms, such as the Kia warranty in Pakistan, are worth comparing if you are still choosing a car.

How we verified this

What we checked, where we read it, and what we could not confirm.

Last checked 1 November 2026. We read the warranty page, the service booking page and the contact page on proton.com.pk on 1 November 2026. Every period, mileage and exclusion comes from the warranty page, put into plain English; the list of 15 exclusions is shortened here. We did not make a warranty claim, and the page does not say how long a claim takes or how a refusal is reviewed.
