To complain to PTCL, call 1218, or send "Hi" on WhatsApp to 0331 2181218 and type 3. You can also email care@ptcl.net.pk. Note the complaint number, and check its status on ptcl.com.pk or with option 6 on WhatsApp. If PTCL does not fix it, escalate to PTA on complaint.pta.gov.pk or 0800-55055.

A dead PTCL line or a Flash Fiber connection that crawls every evening can go on for weeks if nobody logs it. The fix starts in one place: a PTCL complaint with a number you can quote. That number is also what PTA will want to see if you have to escalate.

We read PTCL's own contact directory, WhatsApp support page and complaint status form, and PTA's complaint portal, on 30 September 2026. We did not register a test complaint, because that would put a false fault into PTCL's queue.

PTCL complaint numbers and channels in one place

PTCL lists 1218 as its helpline for assistance on all services, 0331 2181218 as its WhatsApp number, and care@ptcl.net.pk as its email. There is also live chat on ptcl.com.pk and an online complaint form for account holders. Each gives you a complaint number.

The directory also lists a corporate helpline, 1260 and 042 111 20 20 20, for business customers. PTCL says its WhatsApp service is not for corporate users.

How to register a PTCL complaint on WhatsApp

Save 0331 2181218 in your phone, send "Hi" on WhatsApp and type 3 at the menu. PTCL says the service is free for postpaid and prepaid customers, but you must give the mobile number or email already registered with your landline. It is self-service, not an agent.

  1. Save 0331 2181218 under any name in your contacts.
  2. Open WhatsApp and send "Hi" to that number.
  3. Type 3 to register a new complaint.
  4. Give your PTCL number and the mobile number or email registered with it.
  5. Save the complaint number it sends back. Type 6 later to check the status.

The registered contact rule trips people up. PTCL's own FAQ says you cannot lodge a complaint with a mobile number or email that is not linked to the landline. If the line is in a parent's or landlord's name, use their registered number, or call 1218 instead.

Type 0 or send "Hi" to go back to the main menu. PTCL says the bot does not answer SMS, and you cannot talk to an agent through it. For anything outside the menu, call 1218.

What to tell PTCL for a dead line, slow internet or a wrong bill

Be specific. For a dead line, say when it stopped and whether the dial tone is gone. For slow internet, give speed test results with dates and times. For a wrong bill, quote the bill month and the exact amount you dispute. Specific complaints are easier to act on and to escalate.

  • Dead landline: no dial tone, crackling, or one-way sound. Say whether neighbours on PTCL have the same fault.
  • Internet down: which lights on the router are off or red, and since when.
  • Slow internet: your package speed, then 3 or 4 speed test results at different times. Test on a cable where you can, as Wi-Fi alone can hide the cause.
  • Wrong bill: the bill month, the charge you dispute and why. Keep a copy of the bill.

Before you call about a bill, pull it up yourself. PTCL bill check online shows the current and past bills free, which makes the disputed amount easy to quote. If the problem is only a forgotten Wi-Fi password, you do not need a complaint: changing your PTCL Wi-Fi password takes a few minutes from the router page.

PTCL also publishes self troubleshooting guidelines on its website. Restarting the router and checking the cables first is sensible, and it saves a wasted call.

How to track a PTCL complaint

You can track a PTCL complaint on ptcl.com.pk under Complaint Status, with your city code, your PTCL phone number and the complaint number. On WhatsApp, send "Hi" to 0331 2181218 and type 6. You can also ask 1218, quoting the complaint number.

  1. Open ptcl.com.pk and go to Support, then Complaint Status.
  2. Choose your city code from the list.
  3. Enter your PTCL number without the leading zero or city code. The form rejects a number that starts with 0.
  4. Enter the complaint number and submit.
How to track a PTCL complaint on the website and WhatsApp

Keep every complaint number in one place, with the date. If you complain three times about the same fault, PTA will want to see all three.

Escalate an unresolved PTCL complaint to PTA

If PTCL does not fix the problem, file a complaint with the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority, the regulator. Use complaint.pta.gov.pk or the helpline 0800-55055. You need a user profile made with a mobile number registered in your name and CNIC. Quote your PTCL complaint numbers.

PTA's complaint portal lists PTCL among the providers you can complain against. It asks for your city, the provider, the service type, the nature of the complaint and a summary. You can attach a PDF, PNG or JPG of up to 5 MB, such as a bill or a speed test screenshot.

Your PTCL problemChoose on PTA's form
Dead landline or no internetService type Voice or Broadband
Slow internetService type Broadband or Data / Internet, nature Data Speed
Wrong billComplaint nature Billing Issue

After you submit, PTA's portal says its team will respond within 48 business hours, with SMS or email updates. The live form may show slightly different options, because some are loaded from PTA's server. For a slow connection in particular, complaining to PTA about slow or dead internet walks through the form field by field.

Go to PTA only after PTCL has had a fair chance. A PTA complaint that quotes two or three PTCL complaint numbers, with dates, shows the fault was reported and not fixed.
