Under Punjab University's fee schedule dated 28 August 2026, rechecking costs Rs 2,640, a migration or NOC certificate Rs 3,900 (double if urgent), an equivalence certificate Rs 3,360, and a name correction after the result Rs 1,920 to Rs 9,600, depending on how old the result is.

Not every PU charge is an exam fee. Students also pay to challenge marks, fix a spelling mistake in a certificate, move to another university or change an exam centre. We read the university's Schedule of Examination Fees and Dues on 21 October 2026 and pulled out those service charges in one place. The schedule was approved by the Syndicate on 9 July 2026 and applies to exam schedules announced after 24 August 2026.

Rechecking your marks costs Rs 2,640 and an appeal Rs 4,320

The schedule lists a rechecking fee of Rs 2,640. An appeal against a decision and certificate costs Rs 4,320. Both are listed as flat amounts, with no per-paper rule in the text we read, so ask your examination branch whether the fee is for one paper or all.

ServiceFee (Rs)
Rechecking2,640
Appeal against decision and certificate4,320
Verification or syllabus attestation2,520

Compare this with a school board, where recount rules differ. For the federal board, see how FBISE recounting works, Rs 1,500 a paper.

Correcting a name or detail after the result costs Rs 960 to Rs 9,600

A correction before the result is declared costs Rs 960. After the result it costs Rs 1,920 within 2 years, Rs 3,840 from 2 to 5 years, Rs 5,760 from 5 to 10 years and Rs 9,600 after 10 years. The fee rises with the age of the result.

So fix a spelling error early. Waiting from year one to year six turns a Rs 1,920 correction into Rs 5,760, which is Rs 3,840 more. That difference is our arithmetic from the schedule.

When you askFee (Rs)
Before result declaration960
After result, within 2 years1,920
After result, 2 to 5 years3,840
After result, 5 to 10 years5,760
After result, 10 years onward9,600

Migration or NOC costs Rs 3,900 and equivalence Rs 3,360

The schedule lists Rs 3,900 for a migration certificate or NOC, and says urgent cases pay double. Double is Rs 7,800 by our arithmetic. An equivalence fee of Rs 3,360 is also listed. Degree fees of all types are Rs 6,000.

For the step by step on degrees and duplicates, see how to apply for a Punjab University degree, DMC or duplicate. If your degree comes from abroad, you need the Higher Education Commission instead: see how to get HEC equivalence for a foreign degree.

Changing centre, faculty, subject or practical date has set fees

Change of exam centre is Rs 5,500. Change of faculty is Rs 11,150. Change of practical exam date or change of subject is Rs 2,940. These are the amounts listed in the schedule, with no deadline stated in the text we read.

Because no deadline is printed, do not assume you can ask any time. Ask the examination branch for the cut-off date for your exam, then pay the challan. An early request is the safest way to avoid being told it is too late.

  1. Find your service in the schedule and note the amount.
  2. Ask your department which form it needs.
  3. Generate the online challan and pay it.
  4. Submit the form with the paid challan.
  5. Keep a copy of both until PU replies.
Steps to request a Punjab University service and pay the fee

Pay only the amount printed in the schedule

Fees at a large university can be misquoted by agents, photocopy shops and social media posts. Use the schedule itself as the reference. It carries the date 28 August 2026 and the approval of the Syndicate on 9 July 2026, so you can show the exact line to anyone who quotes a different amount.

Pay by challan and keep the paid copy. The schedule also lists a Rs 35 charge for all forms, so add that to a request that needs a form. We did not find any other hidden charge in the text, but we did not test a live challan, so check the amount shown on yours against the schedule before you pay it at the bank.

Ask your department for the exact form before you pay. The schedule gives only the fee, so a wrong form can mean a second visit to the bank. A short written note from the examination branch about which form applies is enough proof if anyone disputes it later.

How we verified this

What we checked, where we read it, and what we could not confirm.

Last checked 21 October 2026. Every amount and date comes from the Schedule of Examination Fees and Dues at pu.edu.pk, which we read on 21 October 2026. The urgent migration amount and the correction gap are our arithmetic. The page does not say how to apply for each service or give deadlines, and we made no payment.
