The PCB published the squads for all 20 teams in the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy 2026-27 on 2 November: eight in the Gold tier and 12 in Silver. Babar Azam plays for Lahore Whites, Mohammad Rizwan captains Peshawar Blues and Shaheen Shah Afridi captains FATA. Saud Shakeel leads the defending champions, Karachi Blues.

We read the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) release on its website. Below is every Gold squad with its reserves and head coach, then every Silver captain and coach, and the Pakistan players spread across both tiers. The 69th Quaid-e-Azam Trophy started on 3 November and the Gold final is on 15 to 19 December.

Eight Gold teams and their captains

The Gold tier has Faisalabad, FATA, Islamabad, Karachi Blues, Lahore Whites, Multan, Peshawar Blues and Sialkot Blues. Shaheen Shah Afridi, Mohammad Rizwan, Saud Shakeel, Imam-ul-Haq and Abdullah Shafique are among the eight captains.

Babar Azam is not a captain here. He plays under Aamir Jamal for Lahore Whites, and the PCB says he features in the opening round against FATA at the Diamond Cricket Ground in Islamabad. He leads Pakistan in the first Test against Sri Lanka from 9 November, so expect him to miss the next rounds.

Full Gold squads, player by player

Each Gold team names about 15 travelling players plus reserves. The PCB calls these revolving rosters: teams can pick from reserves or from the national duty pool at any time. So the eleven on the scorecard may include a reserve.

Muhammad Qaiser is in both Islamabad lists. We copied the release as published rather than guess which entry is meant.

Pakistan Test players sit in the national duty pool

Most of the Pakistan Test squad for Sri Lanka is listed as reserves or national duty players. They play for their region when they are free and return to Pakistan duty for the Tests on 9 and 17 November.

Here is where the Test squad players sit, using the PCB rosters:

  • Karachi Blues: Saud Shakeel (captain), Muhammad Ghazi Ghori, and Abdullah Fazal and Saad Baig in the national duty pool.
  • Lahore Whites: Babar Azam in the squad.
  • Multan: Arafat Minhas, Sameer Minhas and Ali Usman in the national duty pool.
  • Sialkot Blues: Azan Awais in the national duty pool.

The full Test list is on our page about the Pakistan Test squad vs Sri Lanka. Shan Masood is listed with Karachi Blues as "recovering from injury".

Twelve Silver teams in two groups

The Silver tier has 12 teams in two groups of six. Group A plays in Karachi and Group B in Multan, Rahim Yar Khan and Bahawalpur. The winner is promoted to Gold next season, and both tiers carry first-class status.

Well-known names in the Silver squads

Silver is not a second-string tier for star names. Fakhar Zaman, fresh from his 127 in the tri-series final, is in the Abbottabad squad. Shadab Khan and Mohammad Nawaz are with Rawalpindi. Shahnawaz Dahani is with Larkana, Usman Qadir with Lahore Blues and Sharjeel Ahmed with Sialkot Whites. Khawaja Muhammad Nafay, who played for Pakistan in the Hong Kong Sixes plate final win, is listed with Karachi Whites.

Fakhar's century is in our report on the tri-series final win over Sri Lanka.

How to use these squads

The squads tell you who can play, not who will. Follow these steps to see a real line-up:

  1. Find your team in the Gold or Silver table above.
  2. Check the reserves column. A reserve can play any match.
  3. Open the PCB website on the first morning of each round for the scorecard and playing eleven.
  4. Watch Gold matches live on tapmad or Tamasha. The PCB says all Gold matches and four of six Silver matches each round are streamed.

Round dates and grounds are in our Quaid-e-Azam Trophy 2026-27 dates and format guide.

Silver. He is listed in the Abbottabad squad, which plays in Silver Group B.

How we verified this

What we checked, where we read it, and what we could not confirm.

We read the PCB release "Schedule and team rosters announced for Quaid-e-Azam Trophy Gold and Silver", dated Lahore, 2 November 2026, on the PCB website on 4 November 2026. Squads, captains, coaches, groups and the streaming note come from that release. Rizwan's 111 not out is from the PCB day one report of 3 November. Duplicated names are shown as the PCB printed them.
