A birth certificate in Islamabad costs Rs 200 to Rs 1,500, depending on the age of the child, and takes 7 days. You apply at the ICT Administration's Citizen Facilitation Centre in Mauve Area, G-11/4, open Monday to Friday from 9 am to 6 pm. A death certificate goes through the same centre, also in 7 days.

We read the ICT Administration's birth certificate and death registration pages on 10 October 2026. Both link to application forms hosted on the CDA website. Both form links returned a "not found" error when we tried them, so collect the form at the counter.

The fee range is the useful new fact here. Until now Islamabad was one of the places where we could not find a published fee for a birth certificate. The ICT page now gives one.

Islamabad birth certificates cost Rs 200 to Rs 1,500

The ICT Administration lists a processing fee of Rs 200 to Rs 1,500 for a birth certificate, depending on the age of the child. Registering early costs least. The certificate is ready in 7 days.

Islamabad birth certificate fee of Rs 200 to Rs 1,500 depending on the age of the child

The page does not say which age brings which fee. It gives only the lowest and the highest figure. Ask at the counter for the exact amount before you pay, and register a newborn early to stay at the bottom of the range.

The birth application asks for 10 pieces of information

For a birth certificate in Islamabad you need both parents' CNIC details, the child's name and sex, the date, hour and place of birth, and the hospital or clinic with the doctor or midwife who attended. The hospital paper must be an attested photocopy.

  • Father's full name and a photocopy of his CNIC.
  • Name of the child.
  • Sex of the child.
  • Place, date and hour of birth.
  • Name of the hospital or clinic and the doctor or midwife who attended the delivery, with an attested photocopy.
  • Mother's name, address and CNIC number.
  • Religion, caste and nationality of the father.
  • Father's place of residence and address.
  • Father's occupation or profession.
  • Name and address of the person reporting the birth, and the date of the report.

Keep the hospital discharge slip safe from the day of birth. It is the paper families most often lose, and it is the one the list asks to be attested.

Go before 12:30 pm on a Friday or you will hit the two-hour break.

A death certificate needs the deceased's details and the cause of death

To register a death in Islamabad you give the deceased's name, parents or spouse, address, religion, sex, age, and the date, time and cause of death. The person reporting the death also gives their own name and address.

  • Name and surname of the deceased, and nationality.
  • Name of husband, father or mother, and the deceased's occupation.
  • Address of the deceased.
  • Religion, sex and caste of the deceased.
  • Date, time and cause of death.
  • Age of the deceased.
  • Name and address of the person making the report, and the date of the report.

A hospital death slip makes the cause and time easy to prove. Bring the deceased's CNIC too. You will need the death certificate for the next steps, such as a succession certificate from NADRA for bank accounts and pensions.

What to do after the certificate is issued

The ICT certificate is not the end of the paperwork. Most families then need a NADRA record, such as a B-form for the child, and the death certificate starts inheritance and CNIC cancellation steps.

The rules outside Islamabad differ. The birth certificate process in Pakistan runs through union councils in the provinces, and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa uses its own Form A with set time limits.

Once a birth is registered, NADRA can issue the child's registration certificate. Parents can then verify a child's B-form by QR code on the Pak ID app.

How we verified this

What we checked, where we read it, and what we could not confirm.

Last checked on 10 October 2026. We read the ICT Administration birth certificate page and death registration page in full. Both link to forms at cda.gov.pk, birth-reg.pdf and death-reg.pdf, which returned a not found error when we tried them. The fee, timings and 7 day processing time are as the pages list them. The ICT pages do not say how the fee changes with the child's age.
