Verify a Child's B-Form by QR Code on NADRA's Pak ID App, Free
Scan a B-Form's QR code on NADRA's Pak ID app to check a child's record for free. See the steps, the fix for an old B-Form and how family digital IDs work.

NADRA's Pak ID app can now check a child's B-Form by its QR code. Open the app, choose "Scan QR Code" and point the camera at the code on the certificate. The app shows the record NADRA holds, so you can compare it with the paper in your hand. The same update lets you keep digital ID cards for your spouse and eligible children in your own app.
The features came in Pak ID version 5.8.0, which NADRA listed on Apple's App Store on 24 September 2026. A later 5.8.1 build, on 1 October, only fixed bugs. Checking a code is free inside the app. You need the app, a phone camera and your own Pak ID account.
Pak ID 5.8.0 added three family features
NADRA's own release notes for Pak ID 5.8.0 list three changes: digital IDs for family members, QR verification for the Child Registration Certificate (CRC) and the ID cancellation certificate, and biometric checks for flu and meningitis vaccines. The B-Form is the common name for the CRC.
| Feature | What it does | Who uses it |
|---|---|---|
| Family members' digital ID | Keep and show digital ID cards of your spouse and eligible children in your app | Parents and spouses |
| QR check of B-Form (CRC) | Scan the code to see the record NADRA holds | Parents, schools, hospitals, anyone shown a B-Form |
| QR check of cancellation certificate | Confirm an ID cancellation certificate is real | Legal heirs, banks, offices |
| Vaccination biometric check | Fingerprint or face check for flu and meningitis doses | Hajj and Umrah travellers |
None of this replaces the paper documents. A school or embassy can still ask for the printed B-Form. The QR check simply lets them, or you, confirm it quickly.

How to verify a B-Form by QR code on Pak ID
Update the app first, then use its Scan QR Code option on the B-Form. The scan needs a clear code and working mobile data. Only scan with the official Pak ID app, never with a link someone sends you.
- Install or update Pak ID from the Google Play Store or Apple App Store. The developer must be NADRA. Version 5.8.0 or newer has the feature.
- Log in to your Pak ID account. New users register with their own CNIC and mobile number.
- Choose the "Scan QR Code" option in the app.
- Hold the phone over the QR code printed on the B-Form, in good light, until it reads.
- Read the details the app shows: the child's name, parents' names and the CRC number.
- Compare them, letter by letter, with the paper certificate. If anything differs, do not use that copy.

NADRA's release notes name the option but do not publish a screen-by-screen walkthrough. The menu label may sit on the home screen or inside a services list, depending on your app version. If you cannot find it, update the app again before assuming it is missing.
Not sure your app is official? The check before you install a government app shows how to confirm the developer name on both stores.
Older B-Forms may not have a code the app can read
The QR check works only on a certificate that carries a digital QR code. A B-Form printed years ago may have no code at all, or an older code. NADRA has not said which print years the scanner supports.
If the app cannot read your child's certificate, that does not mean it is fake. It may simply be an old print. The safe fix is a fresh copy from NADRA. You can get one through the Pak ID app or at a NADRA centre, with the parents' CNICs.
Check the expiry while you are at it. A B-Form does not last for ever in every case, and the CRC and juvenile card validity table shows when each type runs out. For a first B-Form or a correction, the B-Form documents and fee are listed in full.
Family members' digital ID sits beside your own
NADRA says Pak ID now lets you obtain, view, verify and share digital ID cards of your spouse and eligible children. They are stored next to your own digital ID, so one phone can show the whole family's IDs at a hospital desk or check-in counter.
NADRA has not published who counts as an eligible child. It has also not said whether the family member must consent on their own phone. We could not test this ourselves, because it needs a live account linked to a real family record. Expect the link to follow the family tree NADRA already holds, the same data behind the Family Registration Certificate.

If your spouse or a child is missing from your family tree, the app cannot show them. Fix the record first. A Family Registration Certificate shows exactly which members NADRA has linked to you.
Keep your child's details safe when you share a B-Form
A QR code carries real personal data. Anyone who scans it with the app sees your child's details. Share a B-Form photo only with a school, hospital or office that needs it.
Do not post B-Forms or family ID cards on social media or in open WhatsApp groups. Fraudsters use children's records to register SIMs and fake accounts. Never send an OTP from NADRA to anyone, even a caller who says they are from NADRA. NADRA's own helpline is 1777.
Common questions
Can I check a B-Form online?
Yes, if it has a digital QR code. Scan it with the Scan QR Code option in NADRA's Pak ID app, version 5.8.0 or newer, and compare the details shown.
Is the QR check free?
NADRA lists no fee for scanning a code. You only need the app, your own Pak ID login and mobile data.
What if the app cannot read my child's B-Form?
It may be an older print without a supported code. Get a fresh copy from NADRA through Pak ID or a NADRA centre.
Can I keep my children's digital ID on my phone?
Yes. Pak ID 5.8.0 lets you store and share digital IDs for your spouse and eligible children beside your own.
Which children are eligible for a family digital ID?
NADRA has not published the age or other rules yet. We will add them once NADRA does.
Does a QR check replace the paper B-Form?
No. Schools, embassies and courts can still ask for the printed certificate. The QR check only confirms it.
How we verified this
What we checked, where we read it, and what we could not confirm.
Last checked 9 October 2026. The three new features and the release dates come from NADRA's own version history for the Pak ID app on the Apple App Store, which lists 5.8.0 on 24 September 2026 and 5.8.1 on 1 October 2026. The definition of the CRC as the identity document for children under 18 comes from NADRA's verification services page. The "Scan QR Code" label and the wording on spouses and eligible children are as NADRA described the update in late September. We did not run a scan ourselves, and NADRA has not published age rules for family digital IDs or a list of B-Form print years the scanner reads.
