Samsung began the official One UI 9 update on the Galaxy S26, S26+ and S26 Ultra on 16 September 2026. The Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra, Fold8 and Flip8 already run it. Samsung says other Galaxy phones follow "gradually", but it has not published a full list or any Pakistan dates.

We read Samsung's global newsroom and Samsung Pakistan's One UI page on 29 September 2026, and again on 5 October 2026. Samsung Pakistan's page still talks about One UI 8.5, the version before. So for most Galaxy owners here, One UI 9 is on its way rather than on the phone.

One UI is Samsung's own software on top of Android. One UI 9 is Samsung's Android 17 update. The Android side, and what Google and other brands are doing, is in our Android 17 phone list. Here we stick to Galaxy models and dates.

One UI 9 is on the Galaxy S26 and the new foldables first

Samsung's 16 September release says the One UI 9 rollout begins "starting with the Galaxy S26, S26+, and S26 Ultra". The official version had already launched on the Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra, Z Fold8 and Z Flip8, which came out in July with it built in.

The Galaxy S26 FE also comes with One UI 9. Samsung's spec sheet for it lists Android 17 with One UI 9, and it arrived in Pakistan at Rs 249,999. If you bought an S26 FE, you already have it. The new Galaxy Tab S12 and Tab S12+, which Samsung announced on 30 September 2026, also come with One UI 9.

Other Galaxy phones"Gradually", no dates or list

A rollout that "begins" on 16 September does not mean every S26 in Pakistan had it that day. Samsung releases updates country by country and carrier by carrier. Two S26 Ultra owners in the same office can see it on different days.

Since 29 September there are reports that One UI 9 has reached the Galaxy S25 series in South Korea. A schedule said to come from Samsung Thailand reportedly lists the S25 series, Z Fold7 and Z Flip7 from 28 September and the Galaxy S23 FE in October. We could not find either on Samsung's own pages on 5 October 2026. Samsung's global release has not been updated, and the Samsung Thailand and Samsung Pakistan One UI pages give no dates. So treat these as reports, and as dates for other countries, not Pakistan.

Samsung's own footnote points to the next Galaxy models

Samsung has not published a One UI 9 device list. But its release names the models that support one One UI 9 feature, Privacy Alerts. That list runs back to the Galaxy S23 and Z Fold5. It is the closest thing to a list Samsung has given.

Privacy Alerts uses on-device AI to warn you when an app tries to use permissions in the background. Samsung's footnote says it is supported on these phones:

  • Galaxy S series: S26, S26 Ultra, S25, S25 FE, S24, S24 FE, S23, S23 FE.
  • Galaxy Z Fold: Z Fold8 Ultra, Z Fold8, Z Fold7, Z Fold6, Z Fold5.
  • Galaxy Z Flip: Z Flip8, Z Flip7, Z Flip6, Z Flip5.
  • Galaxy Tab: Tab S11 Ultra, Tab S11, Tab S10 Ultra, Tab S10+, Tab S9 Ultra, Tab S9+, Tab S9.
Galaxy phones and tablets named in Samsung's One UI 9 Privacy Alerts footnote

A feature can only run on a phone that has the software. So by our reading, these models are in line for One UI 9. Samsung has not said so in those words, and it has given no dates for them.

Notice what is missing. No Galaxy A phone appears in that footnote. That does not rule the A series out. Privacy Alerts may simply need hardware the A series lacks. It does mean an A series owner has nothing official to go on yet.

Samsung's One UI 8.5 rollout shows the likely order

Samsung's One UI 8.5 rollout gives a guide to how One UI 9 may spread. The official 8.5 update began in Korea on 6 May 2026, with other regions after. It went first to the Galaxy S25 and S24 families, the recent foldables and the newest tablets.

Samsung's 8.5 release named this group for its first wave:

  1. Galaxy S25 series and Galaxy S25 FE
  2. Galaxy S24 series and Galaxy S24 FE
  3. Galaxy Z Fold7 and Z Flip7
  4. Galaxy Z Fold6 and Z Flip6
  5. Galaxy Tab S11 series and Tab S10 series

If One UI 9 follows the same pattern, the S25 and S24 families and the last two years of foldables come next, then older flagships, and Galaxy A phones last. That is our reading of Samsung's past order, not a Samsung promise. The reported S25 and Fold7 start abroad fits this order so far.

Owners of an A series phone such as the Galaxy A57 should expect to wait longest. Samsung Pakistan's page says compatibility and release dates show up in the Samsung Members app, so that is where to watch.

Samsung has not given One UI 9 dates for Pakistan

Samsung Pakistan's One UI page still described One UI 8.5 when we checked again on 5 October 2026. It says 8.5 came first to the Galaxy S26 series and "will expand to more Galaxy devices". It points users to the Samsung Members app for dates and supported devices.

Pakistan was also not in the One UI 9 beta. Samsung's May release named the beta markets as Germany, India, Korea, Poland, the UK and the US. A beta is a test version, so missing it only means Pakistani users wait for the final release.

One new One UI 9 feature matters locally. "Warranty and Care" moves device support into Settings, so you can check warranty coverage and book service from the phone. Samsung says availability differs by country. Until it shows up, the IMEI warranty check still works.

Steps to check for the One UI 9 update on a Samsung Galaxy phone

To check your Galaxy for the update, Samsung Pakistan's own steps are short. Back up first, use Wi-Fi, and keep the phone charged.

  1. Back up your photos and chats to your Samsung or Google account.
  2. Connect to Wi-Fi and charge the phone.
  3. Open Settings, then Software update.
  4. Tap Download and install, then Check for updates.
  5. Install and let the phone restart.

Common questions

When will my Galaxy phone get One UI 9 in Pakistan?

Samsung has not published Pakistan dates. The S26 series began on 16 September 2026. Other models follow "gradually", per Samsung. The S25 series is reported to have started in some other countries, but Samsung has not confirmed this on its own pages.

Will the Galaxy S23 get One UI 9?

Samsung lists the S23 and S23 FE as supporting One UI 9's Privacy Alerts, which points to yes. It has not given a date.

Will Galaxy A phones get One UI 9?

Samsung has not said. No A series phone is named in its One UI 9 release so far.

Is One UI 9 based on Android 17?

Yes. Samsung said in May 2026 that One UI 9 is built on Android 17.

How do I know when the update is ready?

Check Settings, then Software update, and watch the Samsung Members app, which Samsung Pakistan says shows release dates.

Can I join the One UI 9 beta from Pakistan?

No. Samsung's beta ran only in Germany, India, Korea, Poland, the UK and the US, on the Galaxy S26 series.

How we verified this

What we checked, where we read it, and what we could not confirm.

We checked on 29 September 2026 and checked again on 5 October 2026. The rollout dates, the foldable debut, the Privacy Alerts device list and the Warranty and Care feature are from Samsung Newsroom's One UI 9 rollout release of 16 September 2026. The beta markets are from Samsung's 12 May 2026 release, and the One UI 8.5 order from its 6 May 2026 release. The Pakistan status and update steps are from Samsung Pakistan's One UI page. The Galaxy Tab S12 software is from Samsung Newsroom's 30 September 2026 launch release. The S26 FE software is from Samsung's spec sheet, read on 28 September. The S25 rollout in South Korea and the Thailand schedule are reported only; we could not confirm them on Samsung's own pages. Samsung has not published a full One UI 9 device list, so the likely order is our reading, not Samsung's.
