The official way to check your Sehat Card Plus balance in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is the Sehat Card Plus KP mobile app from State Life, which shows your remaining balance and treatment history. If the app shows nothing, call the 24 hour helpline on 0800-89898 or ask the Sehat Card counter at any empanelled hospital. Balances were renewed on 1 July 2026: Rs 40,000 per family member for ordinary admissions and Rs 400,000 per family for major treatment.

The balance question matters most when a patient is about to be admitted, because treatment is free only until the balance runs out. Below are the three ways to check, what the 2026 limits mean for a real family, what to do when the app is blank, and a figure on the programme's own site that does not match. We read the Sehat Card Plus KP website on 25 October 2026.

Three ways to check your Sehat Card Plus balance

You can check the balance in the Sehat Card Plus KP app, by calling 0800-89898, or at the Sehat Card counter in an empanelled hospital. The app is the only self-service method; there is no SMS code for the balance itself.

MethodHowWhat it shows
Mobile app"State Life Sehat Card Plus" on Google Play or the App StoreRemaining balance, treatment history, complaints
Helpline0800-89898, free, 24 hoursHelp when the app fails, and the nearest empanelled hospital
Hospital counterSehat Card Plus counter, with the patient's CNICBalance checked before admission
Eligibility SMSSend CNIC number to 9780Whether you are covered, not the balance

People often send their CNIC to 9780 expecting a balance. That SMS confirms eligibility only. Use the app or the helpline for the amount left.

How to check the balance in the Sehat Card Plus KP app

Download the State Life Sehat Card Plus app from Google Play or the App Store, sign in, and open the balance or treatment history section. The programme says the app lets you check treatment history, monitor remaining balance and lodge complaints.

  1. Install the "State Life Sehat Card Plus" app from the Sehat Card Plus KP app page links.
  2. Open the app and sign in with the details it asks for.
  3. Open the balance section to see what remains.
  4. Open treatment history to see past admissions and the amount each one used.
  5. Use the complaint option if a hospital charged you for covered treatment.

We could not log in ourselves without a beneficiary's CNIC, so the exact menu names may differ slightly. The functions above are the ones the programme lists.

Steps to check the Sehat Card Plus KP balance in the State Life mobile app

The 2026 balance is Rs 40,000 per person and Rs 400,000 per family

From 1 July 2026, secondary care coverage is Rs 40,000 per family member and tertiary care coverage Rs 400,000 per family. A further Rs 400,000 reserve per family is available only for dialysis, cancer, heart and ICU patients, subject to funds. Both renew every 1 July.

PackageCoversLimit from 1 July 2026
Secondary careOrdinary admissions and common operationsRs 40,000 per family member
Tertiary careMajor specialist treatmentRs 400,000 per family
Additional coverage (reserve)Dialysis, cancer, heart and ICU onlyRs 400,000 per family, if funds allow
RenewalBoth packagesEvery 1 July

Here is what that means in rupees, using our own arithmetic. A family of five has 5 x Rs 40,000 = Rs 200,000 for secondary care, plus Rs 400,000 for tertiary care, plus the Rs 400,000 reserve. That adds up to Rs 1,000,000, which matches the "Rs 1 million per family" figure on the programme's home page.

Sehat Card Plus KP 2026 limits: Rs 40,000 per family member, Rs 400,000 per family and Rs 400,000 reserve

The programme's own pages give the limit two ways

The Sehat Card Plus home page says treatment is free up to Rs 1 million per family per year, while the July 2026 renewal notice and the packages page give Rs 40,000 per member and Rs 400,000 per family. Both can be true for a family of five, but not for every family.

A family of three gets 3 x Rs 40,000 = Rs 120,000 of secondary cover, so its total with both tertiary amounts is Rs 920,000, not Rs 1 million. A family of eight gets Rs 1,120,000. And the reserve is not general money; it opens only for dialysis, cancer, heart and ICU cases.

So do not plan around the round Rs 1 million figure. Check your own balance in the app before a planned operation.

When the app shows nothing or the balance looks wrong

If the app shows no record, first confirm eligibility by sending your CNIC to 9780. If you are eligible and the app is still blank, call 0800-89898. The programme also asks users to send a screenshot of the error and the CNIC to its official Facebook page.

A blank app usually means one of three things, according to the programme's FAQ and its replies to users:

  • The CNIC does not show a permanent Khyber Pakhtunkhwa address, so the family is not covered.
  • NADRA family data is out of date, for example a missing child, wife or widow status.
  • The app itself has a fault, which the helpline can work around.

For the first two, the fix is at NADRA, not at the hospital. The steps to check KP Sehat Card Plus eligibility explain the NADRA corrections. If a hospital charged cash while you still had balance, use the routes to complain about a Sehat Card Plus hospital.

The hospital checks the balance again before admission

At admission, the Health Facilitation Officer at the Sehat Card counter checks the balance before issuing a referral letter. Treatment costs are deducted only after the patient is admitted. Once the balance is used up, the hospital can charge for the rest.

The programme's FAQ says treatments are free unless the balance in the beneficiary's account is exhausted. The admission rules also say OPD visits are never covered. If you are near the end of your balance, ask the counter for the package price of the operation before you sign.

How we verified this

What we checked, where we read it, and what we could not confirm.

Last checked 25 October 2026. We read the Sehat Card Plus KP website on sehatsahulat.com.pk on 25 October 2026: the balance renewal notice of 1 July 2026, the treatment packages page, the mobile app and balance check posts, the FAQ, the admission process page and the home page. The family examples are our own arithmetic. The home page's Rs 1 million figure differs from the per-member limits, and we explain both. We could not log in to the app without a beneficiary's CNIC, so menu names are not confirmed. This page is information only; for medical advice, speak to a doctor.
