On 29 September 2026, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif removed the managing directors of the Suthra Punjab Programme in Kasur, Faisalabad and Okara over complaints of poor performance, Radio Pakistan reported. She also ordered daily monitoring of field officers through their body cameras.

Maryam Nawaz removed Suthra Punjab heads in three districts
Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif removed the Suthra Punjab managing directors in Kasur, Faisalabad and Okara over complaints of poor performance, Radio Pakistan reported on 29 September. She chaired the meeting in Lahore and ordered warnings for other officials over cleanliness issues.
She also announced a dedicated monitoring section. Deputy commissioners were told to monitor Suthra Punjab field monitoring officers every day through the officers' body cameras, according to the report.
Suthra Punjab is the provincial cleanliness and waste management programme. Its official site says it covers 146 tehsils, with 180,000 sanitation workers and 40,000 vehicles, and handles more than 55,000 tons of waste a day. Those are the programme's own figures.
Three official ways to file a Suthra Punjab complaint
Suthra Punjab takes complaints through three official channels: helpline 1139, the complaint form on suthra.punjab.gov.pk and the Suthra Punjab Shehri app on Google Play. The website says to use 1139 for urgent help and the form for an official complaint record.

We did not call 1139 or submit a test complaint, because a fake complaint would send a real worker to a street with no problem. So we cannot tell you how quickly complaints are answered. The form and the tracking page did open normally for us.
How to report missed garbage collection online
The online form has four parts: issue, location, contact and review. "Non Collection of Waste" is one of the listed complaint types, so choose it when your garbage has not been picked up. A photo is optional.
- Open suthra.punjab.gov.pk and click Register Complaint.
- Choose the complaint type, such as Non Collection of Waste or Heaps of Garbage, and describe the problem.
- Add a clear photo if you have one. The form accepts a complaint without a photo.
- Select your district and tehsil, then type the full location and a nearby landmark. You can also share your GPS location.
- Enter your name and mobile number, review the details and submit. Save the complaint ID you receive.
Be exact about the place. The form says the location is used to route the complaint to the right local team, so "near the mosque on Street 4" beats "our area".
The form covers more than missed collection
The Suthra Punjab complaint form lists more than 20 complaint types. Besides missed collection, residents can report heaps of garbage, waste burning, unswept streets, open plot waste, blocked small drains, dead animals and missing or damaged containers.
A few types that residents often need:
- Waste Burned, for garbage set on fire in your street. Burning waste adds to Punjab's smog season every winter.
- Manual Sweeping (Residential), for streets that are not swept.
- Desilting of Open Drains, for open drains up to two feet wide.
- Waste Bin Required or New Container Placement Request, if there is nowhere to put waste.
- Bills Related Complaints, for problems with the Suthra Punjab sanitation bill.
On bills, the site also has a Bill Check page. It asks for the 20-digit PSID printed on your current Suthra Punjab bill.
Track your complaint with the ID and mobile number
To track a Suthra Punjab complaint, open the Track Complaint page and enter the complaint ID with the same mobile number you used to file it. The site asks for both so that nobody can see your complaint with the ID alone.
If the complaint stays open for days, you have two options. Call 1139 and quote the complaint ID. Or raise it on the Pakistan Citizen's Portal, which forwards complaints to the provincial department concerned.
Keep your complaint ID and any photos. The Chief Minister's order puts daily scrutiny on field monitoring officers, and a dated complaint record is the plainest evidence a resident can hold.
