A TDCP boat ride on Kallar Kahar Lake starts from Rs 500, and TDCP lists four more Punjab lakes from Rs 10 to Rs 300: Uchali, Khabbeki, Dhok Talian and Daudkhel. All five run daily, most from 09:00 to 17:00, and each has its own phone number for bookings. The Tourism Development Corporation of Punjab (TDCP) also sells the tickets online.

We read TDCP's boating page on 25 October 2026. Below are the prices and timings for each lake, the contact number for each site, how to book, and the one price on the list that looks wrong enough to check by phone first.

TDCP boating prices at five Punjab lakes start from Rs 10 to Rs 500

TDCP lists boating at Kallar Kahar Lake from Rs 500, Khabbeki Lake and Dhok Talian Lake from Rs 300, Daudkhel from Rs 100 and Uchali Lake from Rs 10. Every price is marked "starting from", and every site runs daily.

Uchali LakeRs 1009:00 to 17:000321-7304094

"Starting from" usually means the cheapest ride, often a short trip or one seat. Larger boats, longer rides and pedal boats can cost more. TDCP's booking site says prices may vary with quantity, duration and options, so the final figure appears in the cart.

Kallar Kahar boating costs from Rs 500, 09:00 to 17:00

Kallar Kahar Lake is TDCP's priciest boating site at a starting price of Rs 500. Boats run daily from 09:00 to 17:00, and the site number is 0333-5114603. TDCP also runs a resort on Lake Road, Kallar Kahar.

Kallar Kahar sits on the motorway route between Lahore and Islamabad, which is why so many families stop there. TDCP's own Lahore day tour to Khewra Salt Mines and Katas includes a boat ride on the lake, and its two-day Soon Valley trip adds Khabbeki and Uchali.

Plan the stop for the morning. With boats stopping at 17:00 and late October sunsets around 5 pm, an afternoon arrival leaves little time on the water. A family of four at the Rs 500 starting price would pay at least Rs 2,000 if the price is per person, by our arithmetic. Ask at the counter whether it is per person or per boat.

Uchali's Rs 10 price needs a phone call before you go

TDCP's page shows boating at Uchali Lake from Rs 10, far below every other lake on the list. That may be an entry or per-minute figure, or a typing error. Call the site on 0321-7304094 to confirm the real ride price.

We are not saying the price is wrong. We are saying it is unusual enough to check. The same number, 0321-7304094, also serves Khabbeki Lake, where the starting price is Rs 300. Both lakes are in the Soon Valley, so one call can settle both.

Daudkhel, at Rs 100, keeps slightly different hours, 10:00 to 18:00. TDCP's Indus Picnic Resort and its three-day Kallar Kahar, Mianwali, Daudkhel and Kalabagh tour cover the same area.

How to book a TDCP boat ride online or by phone

Open TDCP's booking site, choose boating, pick the lake and date, add tickets and pay. Or call the lake's own number from the table. TDCP's general boating email is boating@tdcp.gop.pk and its helpline is 1421.

  1. Open TDCP's boating page and press "Buy a Ticket" under your lake.
  2. On the booking site, confirm the city and route, then choose the date.
  3. Add the number of tickets and read the ticket summary.
  4. Pay and keep the confirmation on your phone.
  5. Show it at the jetty, and ask for life jackets for every person before boarding.

Booking online is optional on a weekday, when you can usually buy at the site. On Sundays and public holidays, booking ahead avoids a queue, and the 2026 public holidays list shows which days will be busiest.

Safety on the water comes before the price

Insist on a life jacket for every passenger, including children who can swim. Do not let anyone stand or change seats once the boat moves, and do not board in high wind or rain.

The usual dangers on a small lake are simple: an overloaded boat, missing jackets and a sudden gust. TDCP's page does not list a passenger limit, so ask the operator how many the boat takes and count heads before you step in. If the operator cannot show you jackets, wait for the next boat or skip the ride.

Check the weather the evening before. PMD's tourist forecast covers the main destinations, and a windy forecast is a good reason to move the trip.

For the drive itself, the motorway driving rules on lights, warning triangles and following distance apply all the way to the Kallar Kahar exit.

How we verified this

What we checked, where we read it, and what we could not confirm.

We read TDCP's boating page at tdcp.gop.pk/boating on 25 October 2026. It listed five lakes with "starting from" prices, daily timings, a phone number for each site, the email boating@tdcp.gop.pk, the office number 051-3357066 and the 1421 helpline. We also read TDCP's tours page, which lists the Lahore day trip with a Kallar Kahar boat ride and the Soon Valley trips, and its resorts page, which lists TDCP Resort Kallar Kahar and Khabeki Lake Resort. The booking site needs a date before it shows ticket options, so we could not confirm whether prices are per person or per boat, the passenger limit per boat, or the reason for Uchali's Rs 10 figure.
