Double Decker Bus Rawalpindi Islamabad Ticket Price: Rs 700 TDCP City Tours, Timings and Taxila Trip
TDCP's Rawalpindi and Islamabad city tours start from Rs 700, the Taxila and Khanpur trip from Rs 1,500. See all 4 tours, timings, stops and how to book.

A TDCP double decker or city tour bus ticket in Rawalpindi and Islamabad starts from Rs 700, and the Taxila Museum and Khanpur Dam tour starts from Rs 1,500. The Tourism Development Corporation of Punjab (TDCP) lists four daily tours from Rawalpindi: a morning and an evening twin city tour, an all-day open-top double decker, and the Taxila and Khanpur trip. You book them on TDCP's own site.
We read the TDCP sightseeing page on 25 October 2026. Below are the prices, the time slots, the stops each tour covers, how to book, and the details TDCP does not print, so you can ask before you pay.
TDCP runs four daily tours from Rawalpindi, three of them at Rs 700
TDCP's Rawalpindi listings show a morning city tour, an evening city tour and an open-top double decker city tour, each from Rs 700, plus a Taxila Museum and Khanpur Dam tour from Rs 1,500. All four run daily.
| Tour | Time slot | Starting price | Days |
|---|---|---|---|
| City Tour, morning (Rawalpindi and Islamabad) | 10:00 to 13:00 | Rs 700 | Daily |
| City Tour, evening (Rawalpindi and Islamabad) | 17:00 to 20:00 | Rs 700 | Daily |
| City Tour, open-top double decker (Rawalpindi) | 06:00 to 22:00 | Rs 700 | Daily |
| Taxila Museum and Khanpur Dam tour | 12:00 to 19:00 | Rs 1,500 | Daily |
TDCP writes every price as "starting from". That usually means the seat price for one adult, with the final amount shown at checkout. A family of four on a Rs 700 tour should budget at least Rs 2,800, by our arithmetic, and check the cart before paying.

The Rs 700 twin city tour covers Faisal Mosque, Pakistan Monument and Daman-e-Koh
TDCP says the morning and evening city tours take in Faisal Mosque, Pakistan Monument, Daman-e-Koh and Constitution Avenue in Islamabad, and Raja Bazaar and Murree Road in Rawalpindi. Both slots carry the same description and price.
Pick the slot by what you want to see. The morning run, 10:00 to 13:00, gives clear light at Daman-e-Koh and a calmer Faisal Mosque. The evening run, 17:00 to 20:00, catches the city lights from the hills and the bazaar at its busiest. In late October, sunset in the twin cities comes a little after 5 pm, so the evening tour is mostly an after-dark trip.
The open-top double decker is a different product. TDCP describes it as a Rawalpindi city tour past military heritage sites, old markets and colonial-era buildings, with guides on board. Its window runs from 06:00 to 22:00, which suggests several departures in the day rather than one long ride. TDCP does not print a departure timetable, so ask for the next bus when you book.
The Taxila Museum and Khanpur Dam tour costs Rs 1,500
The day trip to Taxila Museum and Khanpur Dam starts from Rs 1,500 and runs from 12:00 to 19:00 daily. It is the cheapest organised way to see both places in one afternoon without arranging your own car.
Taxila Museum holds Gandhara-era finds, and Khanpur Dam is a reservoir popular for boating and picnics. TDCP's listing does not say whether the museum's own entry ticket is part of the Rs 1,500, so treat it as extra unless the booking page says otherwise. Carry cash for the museum gate and any boating at the dam.
Seven hours on a bus is long for small children. If you are travelling with them, the three-hour city tour is the easier choice.

How to buy a TDCP sightseeing ticket online
Open TDCP's booking site, choose the city, the route and the date, add seats to the cart and pay. Each tour listing also shows a phone number, 0330-0276020, and TDCP's helpline is 1421.
- Go to the sightseeing section of TDCP's booking site and pick Rawalpindi as the city.
- Choose the route: morning city tour, evening city tour, double decker or Taxila and Khanpur.
- Pick your date and the number of seats.
- Read the ticket summary. TDCP notes that prices can vary with quantity and options.
- Pay and save the confirmation on your phone.
- Reach the boarding point early. Confirm the exact spot by phone, because the listing does not print it.
The same booking site sells TDCP's other services. Families heading on to the hills often pair a city tour with a night at a TDCP resort in Murree, booked through the same corporation.
What TDCP's page does not tell you, so ask first
TDCP's sightseeing page gives no boarding point, no refund or cancellation rule, and no child fare. Call 0330-0276020 or the 1421 helpline, or email sightseeing@tdcp.gop.pk, and get answers before you pay.
Three questions are worth asking. Where does the bus leave from? Is there a child or student price? What happens to your money if the tour is cancelled for rain? TDCP's resort pages do carry a refund rule, but the sightseeing page does not, and we would not assume the same terms apply.
Weather is the other risk. An open-top bus in rain is no fun, and Daman-e-Koh can sit in cloud. A look at PMD's tourist forecast the night before helps you pick the right day.
TDCP's route selector also lists sightseeing in Lahore, Bahawalpur, Murree, Multan and Faisalabad. The prices in this article are the Rawalpindi listings only.

How we verified this
What we checked, where we read it, and what we could not confirm.
We read TDCP's sightseeing page at tdcp.gop.pk/sightseeing on 25 October 2026. It showed the four Rawalpindi listings with their "starting from" prices, daily time slots, the stops for the city tours, the phone number 0330-0276020, the email sightseeing@tdcp.gop.pk, the office number 051-3357066 and the 1421 helpline. The booking site needs a city, route and date before it shows seat options, and it showed none for our test, so we could not confirm child fares, the boarding point, departure times inside the double decker window, whether the Taxila museum ticket is included, or the refund terms. The family-of-four figure is our arithmetic.
