NCCIA Complaint Status Check: Track a Cybercrime Complaint by 1799, WhatsApp or Citizen Portal
NCCIA has no online tracking page. Check a cybercrime complaint on 1799, your city CCRC WhatsApp number or the Citizen Portal, and see why a visit is needed.

NCCIA has no online page where you type a number and see your complaint's status. You follow up a cybercrime complaint by calling the 24/7 helpline 1799, by calling or messaging the WhatsApp number of the Cybercrime Reporting Centre (CCRC) in your city, or, if you filed it there, inside your Pakistan Citizen's Portal account.
The complaint form at complaint.nccia.gov.pk takes your CNIC, mobile number and the details of the crime, then shows a "Complaint Registered!" message. After that, nothing on the site lets you check progress. We went through the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency's site page by page on 24 October 2026 and found no status, tracking or "find my complaint" tool.
So the follow-up runs through people, not a portal. Below is every route, which number to use for which city, and what to do when a complaint goes quiet for weeks.
Your filing route decides where you check the status
Where you lodged the complaint decides where its status lives. A Citizen's Portal complaint is tracked in that app. A complaint from the NCCIA web form, an email or a walk-in visit is followed up by phone with the CCRC handling your city.
NCCIA's own FAQ lists four ways to report a cybercrime: the Pakistan Citizen's Portal, the NCCIA complaint form, an email to helpdesk@nccia.gov.pk, and a visit to the nearest CCRC. Each one leaves a different trail.
| How you filed | Where to check status | What to keep ready |
|---|---|---|
| NCCIA web form (complaint.nccia.gov.pk) | Call 1799 or your city CCRC | Screenshot of the "Complaint Registered!" message, CNIC, mobile number used |
| Pakistan Citizen's Portal | Your complaint list in the Citizen's Portal app | Portal complaint number |
| Email to helpdesk@nccia.gov.pk | Reply to the same email thread, then call your CCRC | Date and subject line of your email |
| Written application at a CCRC | The same CCRC, by phone or WhatsApp | Diary or receipt number the counter gave you |
If you went through the portal, the Pakistan Citizen's Portal shows the department's reply in your account, and a complaint closed without action can be reopened there.

The web form registers a complaint but does not track it
The form at complaint.nccia.gov.pk records your name, CNIC, gender, mobile number, city and crime details, then confirms with a pop-up. We found no tracking link on the form or the main NCCIA site, so that pop-up is your only receipt.
The form has one crime category: cybercrime, covering hacking, electronic fraud, cyber stalking, online defamation, hate speech and other offences. Its city list runs from Islamabad to small towns in every province, Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Kashmir.
We did not submit a test complaint, because a fake report wastes an investigator's time. That means we cannot tell you whether the confirmation message carries a reference number. Take a screenshot of whatever it shows, before you close the page. Write down the date and time too.
A visit to the CCRC is what turns a complaint into an inquiry
NCCIA's FAQ says that under S.R.O. 05/2020 the complainant must visit a Cybercrime Reporting Centre in person to verify the matter. Until that visit happens, an online complaint may sit unverified, which is the most common reason for silence.
The same FAQ cites Section 29(1) of the Pakistan Electronic Crimes Act, as amended in 2025, to say NCCIA is the agency for inquiries, investigations and prosecutions. For a formal investigation, it points you to the nearest CCRC.
For that visit NCCIA lists three things:
- A written application to the in-charge of the CCRC, with your name, address, city and contact number.
- A copy of your CNIC.
- A copy of your evidence: screenshots, chat exports, transaction IDs, links and phone numbers.
Take the screenshot of your online complaint as well. It shows the date you first reported, which matters when money is involved and the bank or wallet is also investigating.

Call 1799 first, then the CCRC that has your case
The 24/7 NCCIA helpline is 1799, printed at the top of every page of nccia.gov.pk. For a specific case, the CCRC in your city knows more, and every CCRC on NCCIA's offices page lists a landline, a WhatsApp number and an email.
Here are the five busiest centres. Lahore alone accounts for 21 per cent of reported crimes, according to NCCIA's 2026 figures on its home page.
| CCRC | Phone | |
|---|---|---|
| Lahore | 042-99334043, 042-99332050 | 0326-8399304 |
| Karachi | 021-99333968, 021-99333950 | 0326-8399316 |
| Islamabad | 051-9334627 | 0326-8399301 |
| Rawalpindi | 051-9274782, 051-9274785 | 0326-8399324 |
| Peshawar | 091-9216234, 091-9216251 | 0326-8399319 |
All 16 city centres, with addresses and emails, are in our list of NCCIA office numbers. When you call, give your full name, CNIC, the date you complained and the platform involved. Ask one direct question: has an inquiry officer been assigned, and who is it?

A silent complaint can be escalated in three ways
If the CCRC does not respond, email helpdesk@nccia.gov.pk with your details, call the headquarters lines, or raise it at one of the Director General's open hearings. NCCIA's site showed three such hearings between 14 and 22 October 2026.
The headquarters page lists 051-9106690, 051-9106691 and 051-8777685 for the Director General's office in G-10/4, Islamabad. The news section recorded an E-Kutchery by telephone on 14 October, a Khuli Kachehri on 19 October and an open court on 22 October, where citizens presented complaints directly.
Keep your volume in proportion. NCCIA lists more than 140,270 complaints for 2026, with financial fraud the top category at 48 per cent. A polite follow-up every week, with your CNIC and date, gets further than daily calls.
If the case involves money taken from your account, do not wait on NCCIA alone. Your bank has its own deadline, and the steps to claim a refund after online banking fraud run in parallel with the criminal complaint.
Overseas Pakistanis follow up through a focal person
If you live abroad, NCCIA asks you to nominate a relative in Pakistan as your focal person. That person can pursue the case at any CCRC in the country, including the in-person verification visit, and can call for updates.
NCCIA wants the focal person's name, city, contact number, postal address and CNIC. If you have nobody in Pakistan, the FAQ says to send the complaint through Interpol or the Pakistan High Commission or Embassy where you live.
A word of warning that applies to everyone. NCCIA staff do not need your bank PIN, OTP or wallet password to check a complaint. Anyone who calls from an unknown number claiming to be NCCIA and asks for those is running the scam you reported. The tell-tale signs of a fake NCCIA call are the same every time.
Common questions
Can I check my NCCIA complaint status online?
No. We found no status page on nccia.gov.pk or complaint.nccia.gov.pk on 24 October 2026. Only a complaint filed on the Pakistan Citizen's Portal can be followed online, in your portal account.
What is the NCCIA helpline number?
The 24/7 helpline is 1799. The headquarters numbers listed on NCCIA's offices page are 051-9106690, 051-9106691 and 051-8777685.
Why has nothing happened since I filed online?
The most likely reason is that you have not visited a CCRC yet. NCCIA's FAQ says S.R.O. 05/2020 requires the complainant to verify the matter in person at a Cybercrime Reporting Centre.
What documents does NCCIA need for a complaint?
A written application addressed to the CCRC in-charge with your name, address, city and contact, a copy of your CNIC and a copy of your evidence.
Can a relative follow up my complaint for me?
Yes, if you live abroad. NCCIA asks overseas complainants to nominate a focal person in Pakistan and give that person's name, city, phone number, address and CNIC.
Can NCCIA look through my phone when I go to the CCRC?
Only within what the law allows, and you should know your rights before you hand anything over. We set out what NCCIA can access on your phone separately.
How we verified this
What we checked, where we read it, and what we could not confirm.
We read NCCIA's home page, its FAQs, its offices page and the complaint registration form in a browser on 24 October 2026, and searched each page for any status or tracking feature. The helpline, phone numbers, WhatsApp numbers, documents list, S.R.O. 05/2020 rule and 2026 complaint figures come from those pages. We did not submit a complaint, so we could not see what the confirmation message contains, and we could not test how quickly any CCRC answers its WhatsApp number.
