UBL's schedule of charges for July to December 2026 makes transfers to other banks free up to Rs 25,000 a month in total, then 0.1% or Rs 200, whichever is lower. Cheque books are free on all accounts, a duplicate statement costs Rs 35, and a cash withdrawal from another bank's 1LINK ATM costs Rs 35. Branch SMS alerts cost Rs 250 a month plus tax, while SMS alerts for digital transactions are free.

We read UBL's full schedule of charges, the 40 page PDF linked from its website, on 28 October 2026. Below are the fees most UBL customers actually pay, the debit card table, locker rents, and what changed in this half year.

UBL transfers to other banks are free up to Rs 25,000 a month

UBL charges nothing for IBFT, the instant transfer to another bank, until your total for the month passes Rs 25,000. After that, each transfer costs 0.1% of the amount or Rs 200, whichever is lower, tax included. Raast transfers are listed as free.

The Rs 25,000 is one shared limit across the UBL Digital app, Netbanking and ATMs, not a separate allowance for each channel. A note in the ATM section says so directly: "25,000 is Aggregate IBFT limit of ATM, Netbanking and Digital App". Transfers to another UBL account and to UBL wallets are free.

TransferUBL charge, July to December 2026
IBFT, monthly total up to Rs 25,000Free
IBFT, above Rs 25,000 in the month (app or Netbanking)0.1% or Rs 200, whichever is lower
Raast transfer in the app or NetbankingFree
UBL account to UBL accountFree
UBL to UBL walletFree

Here is what that means in rupees. A Rs 50,000 transfer after you have used the free Rs 25,000 costs Rs 50, because 0.1% of Rs 50,000 is Rs 50. A Rs 500,000 transfer costs the Rs 200 cap. If you send money often, Raast avoids the charge, and the rules are the same at most banks under the Rs 25,000 free IBFT limit.

UBL charges Rs 35 for cash from another bank's ATM

A UBL card withdrawing cash at another bank's 1LINK ATM pays Rs 35 a time. Withdrawals at UBL's own ATMs are free. Using the card abroad costs 4.5% of the amount or Rs 150, whichever is higher.

Mnet is the second ATM switch in Pakistan, and its machines also cost Rs 35. The schedule notes that all switch charges can change if 1LINK or SBP change them. A foreign bank's card withdrawing at a UBL ATM is charged Rs 1,000 plus tax.

The debit card itself has a yearly fee, charged in advance, and the schedule says no refund is given if you close the account. These are the main cards.

Some accounts waive these fees. The Mukammal Current Account gives a free Classic or Premium card if you keep a year-to-date average of Rs 25,000, and several other accounts waive the first card. How to order, activate or lock a card is in the UBL ATM card steps.

Cheque books are free and a duplicate statement costs Rs 35

UBL lists cheque books as free for PLS savings accounts and for all other accounts. A duplicate or on demand statement costs Rs 35 each, tax included. Stopping a cheque costs Rs 600, and a cheque returned unpaid through your fault costs Rs 1,000.

Branch serviceUBL charge
Cheque book, PLS and all other accountsFree
Regular half yearly statementFree
Duplicate or on demand statementRs 35 per statement
E-statementFree
Stop payment of a cheque, rupee accountRs 600 per instruction
Cheque returned unpaid, customer's faultRs 1,000
SBP or NBP cheque on requestRs 500 per cheque
Photocopy of a paid chequeRs 50 within 1 year, Rs 200 after

One stop payment instruction can cover a whole series of cheques, according to the note under that row. That matters if a cheque book is lost. The steps are the same as for any stop payment on a cheque, and the Rs 600 is charged once.

Customised cheque books cost extra: Rs 11 a cheque for the standard 9.5 inch size and Rs 14.30 for A4 size, both including tax.

UBL SMS alerts cost Rs 250 a month for branch transactions

UBL Go Green SMS alerts are free for every digital transaction, including app, ATM, branchless and Netbanking use. Alerts for branch transactions cost Rs 250 plus tax a month. The schedule calls this a mandatory monthly deduction, whatever the number of messages.

That is Rs 3,000 a year before tax for alerts many people never read. If most of your banking is digital, check whether you are paying it. Some accounts waive it. The list includes the Mukammal Current Account for customers who keep the Rs 25,000 average.

  1. Open your last two UBL statements, in the app or as e-statements.
  2. Look for a monthly SMS deduction of Rs 250 plus tax.
  3. Check whether your account type is on the waiver list in the schedule.
  4. If you only want digital alerts, ask your branch or the UBL helpline 111-825-888 which alert setting stops the branch SMS charge.
  5. Check the next statement to confirm that the deduction has stopped.

UBL locker rent starts at Rs 6,000 a year

A small UBL locker costs Rs 6,000 a year for current account holders and Rs 9,000 for savings account holders. Large and extra large lockers cost up to Rs 12,000 and Rs 18,000. A one time refundable key deposit of Rs 3,500 to Rs 6,500 also applies.

Locker sizeCurrent accountSavings accountKey deposit
SmallRs 6,000Rs 9,000Rs 3,500
MediumRs 8,000Rs 12,000Rs 4,000
LargeRs 10,000Rs 15,000Rs 5,000
Extra largeRs 12,000Rs 18,000Rs 6,500

Locker rent is one of the items UBL revised for this half year, along with branch IBFT and international card charges. Late rent costs 10% of the yearly rent, charged once a year after the rent is more than 30 days overdue.

Most of these fees can be avoided with a few habits, and the same habits work at other banks. Several are covered under what your bank charges you. Use Raast for large transfers, request e-statements, and use your own bank's ATM.

How we verified this

What we checked, where we read it, and what we could not confirm.

We read UBL's schedule of charges page and its July to December 2026 schedule on 28 October 2026. Some tables in the PDF do not line up cleanly when the text is extracted. Where we could not match a fee to its row with certainty, as with ATM balance inquiries and ATM transfers above the monthly limit, we left it out. The rupee examples are our arithmetic. Government taxes are charged on top unless the schedule says the fee includes them.
