X Ends Creator Revenue Sharing on 7 September

X is retiring Creator Revenue Sharing on 7 September 2026. We read that on X's own help page on 27 August 2026, where it states that as of 7 August 2026 it is no longer accepting new enrolments into the programme, and that it will be retired on 7 September 2026.

For Pakistani creators there is a second half to this, and it is the part that costs money. Reporting says Pakistan is not on the eligibility list for the replacement, the Original Content Rewards Program. If that holds, the income does not move across. It stops.

This distinction matters more than usual here, because one half is confirmed and the other is not.

We tried X's Original Content Rewards help page directly and it refused our request. So the Pakistan exclusion, which is the whole story for our readers, is reported rather than confirmed by us. Check your own X account for what it tells you, because that is the only source that speaks to your specific case.

The dates to work to

1. 7 August 2026, new enrolments into Revenue Sharing closed.
2. Through 7 September 2026, existing members continue to earn.
3. 8 September 2026, the new programme reportedly begins rolling out.
4. Around 11 September 2026, a final payout for earnings accrued to 7 September is reported.
5. After that, no further Revenue Sharing income.

If you are enrolled, the practical instruction is short. Make sure your payout details are correct now rather than in September, because a final payment that fails on stale bank or Stripe details is the worst possible time for it to happen.

Why Pakistan keeps landing outside these lists

The reported reason is payment processing rather than anything about Pakistani creators. X pays through Stripe, and a creator has to be in a country Stripe supports for payouts. Where that coverage does not extend, the programme does not extend either.

That explains a pattern our readers keep meeting. It is the same reason several international platforms are awkward or unavailable from Pakistan, and it is why the answer is so often about the payment rail rather than the platform.

What still pays, and what does not

Do not replace one assumption with another. Before moving your effort somewhere else, check whether that platform actually pays into Pakistan, because several widely recommended ones do not.

Sort the payout rail before the deadline

Whatever you earn from, the constraint is usually how the money reaches you. Getting that working is worth more than another follower.

Do not pay anyone to get you on the list

An announcement like this reliably produces people offering to enrol you, to change your registered country, or to sell an account in an eligible one. Those are the ways creators lose both money and the account itself.

Misrepresenting your location to a payment processor is not a workaround. It is the thing that gets earnings frozen and accounts closed, and the loss usually lands after enough has accumulated to hurt.
