Airblue International Travel Documents in Pakistan: 6 Month Passport, Return Ticket and Hotel Proof
Airblue needs a passport valid 6 months, an exact name match and, on UAE or Saudi visit visas, a return ticket and hotel proof. See child and family visa rules.

Airblue requires a passport valid for at least 6 months from your travel date, a name typed exactly as in the passport, and, for a UAE or Saudi visit or Umrah visa, a confirmed return ticket and proof of hotel. Children aged 5 to 12 cannot fly alone, and families on one visit visa must travel on the same flight.
Boarding is refused at the airport more often for paperwork than for any other reason, and a wrong name on the ticket cannot be fixed online. We read the health and travel page on airblue.com on 21 October 2026. These are the airline's rules. Immigration officers and the destination country can ask for more.
Your passport must be valid for 6 months from the travel date
Airblue says passengers must hold a passport with a minimum validity of 6 months from the date of travel. A passport that expires in five months is not enough, even if the trip is short. Check the expiry date before you pay for a ticket.
If yours is close to the limit, renew first. The choice between five and ten years is explained in our guide to choosing passport validity and the e-passport fee. Booking first and renewing later risks a ticket you cannot use.
| Document | Airblue rule |
|---|---|
| Passport | At least 6 months validity from travel date |
| Name | Exactly as in the passport |
| Date of birth, nationality, gender | Must match the passport |
| UAE visit visa | Valid visa, confirmed return ticket, hotel proof |
| Saudi visit or Umrah visa | Same three items |

The name on the ticket must match the passport exactly
Airblue says the passenger name must be entered exactly as per the passport. Date of birth, nationality and gender must match as well. Use the passport page, not your CNIC or your common name. Spelling order and middle names matter.
This is more serious than it sounds. In its help page, Airblue says you may not change a reservation yourself on the website and must call 111-247-258. Name changes are not available online, and an agent may charge a fee. We could not find a published charge for correcting a name.
A UAE or Saudi visit visa needs a return ticket and a hotel
For a UAE visit visa, a Saudi visit visa or an Umrah visa, Airblue requires a valid visa, a confirmed return ticket and proof of hotel accommodation. Without them the airline may refuse to carry you.
The airline is not guessing. Pakistani airport staff also check documents before departure. Our guide to avoiding offloading at Pakistani airports lists what the FIA looks for. For Umrah, the visa steps are in the guide to the Umrah visa process.
Print or save the hotel booking, the return ticket and the visa. Phones run out of battery at counters. A booking that is still pending is not proof.
Family visa holders must travel together on the same flight
On a UAE or Saudi family visit visa, all family members named on the visa must travel together on the same flight. Splitting a family across two flights, to save money or because one seat sold out, can lead to boarding being refused.
Book all names in one go and ask the call centre to confirm the same flight number for everyone. If one person is delayed by a document problem, ask Airblue what the rest should do before they board, because the rule says together.
Children under 12 have special rules
Airblue does not allow children aged 5 to 12 to travel alone on its flights. A child of 5 to 12 who holds a residency permit and travels internationally with someone other than a parent needs a parents' affidavit authorising the trip.
Passengers aged 12 to 18 on a UAE visit visa may not travel alone. If they do, a parents' affidavit giving permission is mandatory. Newborns can travel from 48 hours of age if healthy, with a medical or birth certificate. The page says babies three days and older are fit to travel without extra requirements. For another airline's rules, see PIA's rules for a child travelling alone.
- Check that your passport is valid for 6 months after the travel date.
- Type the name, birth date, nationality and gender exactly as in the passport.
- For a visit or Umrah visa, keep the visa, return ticket and hotel proof.
- Book all family visa holders on one flight.
- For a child, bring the affidavit if the rules require one.

How we verified this
What we checked, where we read it, and what we could not confirm.
Last checked 21 October 2026. Passport validity, name matching, visa proof, family visa, child and newborn rules come from the health and travel page at airblue.com. The phone number and the statement that name changes cannot be made online come from its help and customer service pages, all read on that date. We could not find a fee for a name correction or the exact affidavit wording. We did not contact Airblue, and a destination country may ask for more than the airline does.
