Apply as a Paper Setter or Examiner at BISE Gujranwala for the 2027 Exams: Last Date 31 December 2026
BISE Gujranwala invites teachers to apply as paper setters, head examiners and sub examiners for 2027 SSC and HSSC exams. See who qualifies and how to apply.

Short answer: BISE Gujranwala is asking eligible teachers and lecturers to apply to work as paper setters, head examiners, sub examiners or super checkers for the 2027 SSC and HSSC exams. Apply online at services.bisegrw.edu.pk/Marking_form, then submit the attested data form by 31 December 2026. The work is temporary and paid under board rules.
Every matric and inter paper you sit was written by a teacher and marked by another. The board does not employ those people full time. It calls them each exam season from schools and colleges, and it publishes a notice once a year asking who is available. That notice is out now.
We read the board's expression of interest, dated 2 October 2026, on the BISE Gujranwala website on 12 October 2026. It is in Urdu. Below is what it asks for in plain English.
The board needs four kinds of exam staff for 2027
The notice lists four roles for the SSC and HSSC first and second annual examinations of 2027. They are paper setter, head examiner, sub examiner, and super checker cum assistant to head examiner. The board says it needs their services on a temporary basis only.
In general, a paper setter writes the question paper. A head examiner leads the marking of one subject and checks the work of the sub examiners. A sub examiner marks answer books. A super checker cum assistant to head examiner checks totals and marks entries.
| Role | Who can apply, as listed by the board | Experience asked |
|---|---|---|
| Paper setter, matric and inter | Public sector school teachers (SSS, SS, SST) for matric. Public sector college professors, associate and assistant professors and lecturers, and school teachers (SSS, SS), for inter | At least 10 years teaching the subject |
| Head examiner, secondary | Public sector high and higher secondary school teachers (SSS, SS, SST) | 2 years as a sub examiner with the board and 7 years teaching the subject |
| Head examiner, higher secondary | Public sector college professors, associate and assistant professors | 2 years as a sub examiner with the board and 7 years teaching the subject |
| Sub examiner | Public sector school teachers and college teaching staff at the same levels | At least 3 years teaching the subject |
| Super checker cum assistant to head examiner | Serving government teachers and private candidates with MA, MSc, MCom or BS | Qualification and CNIC copy |

Experience and qualification decide who is picked
Students later challenge marked papers through rechecking after the result, and subject experience is what the notice asks for. The board says preference goes to candidates with the highest educational qualification. Experience is counted in the subject you teach, not in teaching in general. A teacher of Physics with ten years of teaching in Physics meets the experience line for Physics papers.
The notice also says private persons will be given duty only when needed. Whether a private candidate is given duty is entirely the office's decision. So a private candidate with a degree should not plan on a job offer. Government teachers are the main pool.
How to apply and where to send the form
The route has two parts: the online form on the board's services site, and the attested paper copy sent to the examination section. Paper setters send their data form, verified by the head of their institution, immediately to the board's address given on the notice.
- Open the board's online marking form at services.bisegrw.edu.pk/Marking_form.
- Enter your details and apply for the role that matches your experience.
- Print the data form the system generates.
- Have your head of institution attest the data form, your pay slip, your timetable and your last degree.
- Deliver these to the Examination Section, Room No. 114, BISE Gujranwala, by 31 December 2026, or send them to the board's address.

Teachers who are already registered with the board still need to update their data on the same form. The notice says this is required for them too.
Examination duty is compulsory for government teachers
The notice cites an order of the Punjab Higher Education Department and the Punjab Essential Services (Maintenance) Act 1958. It says exam duty for teachers is mandatory under Section 4 of that Act and that cooperating with the board is a national responsibility.
That matters for how you read the form. It is called an expression of interest, but the board is also telling heads of institutions that teachers must be available. If you are a government teacher, the sensible step is to apply and describe your subject and experience accurately.
Marking itself is changing at some boards. BISE Lahore is moving four inter subjects to on-screen marking, and examiners there are being trained on the new system.
What you are paid and what to watch for
The notice says teachers who do the duty will be paid under the board's approved rules. It does not give a figure. We will not quote one. Ask the board's examination section for the current rate sheet.
Do not pay anyone to get a marking or paper setting assignment. The notice states no such fee, and duty is assigned by the board. Anyone offering a seat for money is not acting for the board.
