How to Apply for the Pakistan Startup Fund Grant: Up to 30% of Your Round, US$ 50,000 to US$ 1 Million
The Pakistan Startup Fund gives non-equity grants of up to 30% of a funding round, US$ 50,000 to US$ 1 million. See who qualifies and how to apply by email.

The Pakistan Startup Fund gives a non-equity grant of up to 30 per cent of your funding round, from US$ 50,000 to US$ 1,000,000. You apply by email to Ignite, there is no deadline, and the fund charges no fee. Your startup must be incorporated in Pakistan, no more than 10 years old, an active FBR tax filer, and already close to securing private investment.
We read the Pakistan Startup Fund page on Ignite's own website on 14 October 2026. We have not applied, and we cannot say how many startups have won grants. This guide sets out the rules as Ignite states them and the order to prepare your papers.
The fund matches private money with a grant
The Pakistan Startup Fund (PSF) is a government initiative under the Ministry of IT and Telecom, run by Ignite National Technology Fund. It supports early-stage startups with a grant of up to 30 per cent of the total investment round size, to help close funding gaps.
Non-equity means the fund takes no share of your company. The grant is tied to a round: investors put in money, and PSF adds up to 30 per cent of the round. So you cannot apply for PSF money alone. You need an investor first.
Ignite describes the fund as sector-agnostic. It gives priority to startups with high growth potential that match national goals, including job creation, IT exports and foreign direct investment.

Five rules decide who qualifies
Ignite lists eligibility under registration, funding and national alignment. In short: be incorporated in Pakistan for no more than 10 years, file taxes as an active FBR filer, show innovation or a scalable model, hold or nearly hold a private investment, and not have had PSF money before.
| Rule | What Ignite says |
|---|---|
| Incorporation | Legally incorporated in Pakistan, no more than 10 years since incorporation |
| Tax | Active tax filer with the Federal Board of Revenue |
| Innovation | Innovation-driven, or a scalable model with high job or wealth potential |
| Investment | Secured, or in advanced stages of securing, private investment from VCs or investors |
| Grant size | Up to 30% of the round, US$ 50,000 minimum, US$ 1,000,000 maximum |
| Past funding | No earlier PSF funding; a rejected application can be reconsidered after material changes |
If your startup is part of an international holding company, it must operate through a legally incorporated entity in Pakistan. To prove investment, Ignite gives examples: a term sheet, a funding agreement or a letter of intent.
Two of these rules are easy to check yourself today. If you have no company yet, see how to register a private limited company with SECP. For the tax rule, you can see when the Active Taxpayers List updates and how to check it.
Apply by email in five steps
Applications are open on a rolling basis. You prepare a document checklist, name a project leader with decision-making power and email everything to the fund's official address. You get an acknowledgement email when the submission succeeds.
- Collect your documents as PDFs. Excel is accepted for financial models, and images for CNIC or passport.
- Upload them to a shared drive that Ignite can open.
- Choose a project leader who can decide for the startup, present the investor pitch and sign the grant agreement.
- Email the documents to pakistanstartupfund@ignite.org.pk and add the drive link if you wish.
- Wait for the acknowledgement email, then for the decision after the internal evaluation cycle.

We took the email address from the fund page on Ignite's website. The site hides it behind a script, so copy it from the page itself if in doubt. Ignite also says all correspondence must go through this official address.
What happens after you apply
Ignite sets out five stages: application, initial scrutiny and due diligence, evaluation against the criteria and an investor pitch, final approval, and a grant agreement with release of funds. Funds are released as agreed, subject to availability.
The page names legal, financial, operational and technical checks in due diligence. Ignite does not give a timeline in days on the page we read, so we cannot tell you how long a decision takes. Applicants are told the decision after the internal evaluation cycle.
If your application is rejected, Ignite says it can be reconsidered when there are material changes in your circumstances. A review committee also exists for complaints. A request goes by email to the same fund address, and Ignite says receipt is acknowledged within five working days.

Never pay anyone to apply
Ignite says PSF charges no fee at any stage and has not appointed any third party to submit applications. It also warns that false or misleading information means disqualification and possible blacklisting from future Ignite programmes.
That makes any agent who sells "guaranteed PSF grants" a warning sign. The page says applying does not guarantee acceptance. If you want shared office space and mentoring before you raise money, the guide to applying to a National Incubation Center covers a different route.
Common questions about the Pakistan Startup Fund
How much can the Pakistan Startup Fund give a startup?
Up to 30 per cent of the total investment round, with a minimum grant of US$ 50,000 and a maximum of US$ 1,000,000, according to Ignite's page.
Does the fund take shares in my company?
No. Ignite describes the support as non-equity grants, so the fund does not take ownership in your startup.
Is there a closing date for applications?
The page says applications are open on a rolling basis, and we saw no closing date. Check the page before you send papers.
Does my startup need a private investor first?
Yes. It must have secured, or be in advanced stages of securing, private investment, for example a term sheet, funding agreement or letter of intent.
Can I apply again if I am rejected?
Ignite says a previously rejected application can be reconsidered if there are material changes in your circumstances. A startup that already received PSF funding cannot apply again.
How we verified this
What we checked, where we read it, and what we could not confirm.
Last checked 14 October 2026. Every rule, amount and step above comes from the Pakistan Startup Fund page on Ignite's website, which we read on 14 October 2026. We have not applied and have no data on how many grants were paid. We could not find a decision time on the page, so we give none. Confirm the current rules and email address on that page before you send documents.
