How to Apply for MBBS and BDS in Sindh Public Colleges 2026-27 by 26 October
Sindh's public MBBS and BDS forms close on 26 October 2026. Apply via JSMU, LUMHS or SMBBMU by district, need 60% FSc and MDCAT, and pay Rs 3,500 at Leopards.

Admission forms for MBBS and BDS at Sindh's nine public medical and dental colleges close on Monday 26 October 2026. You apply online at the university tagged to your district (JSMU, LUMHS or SMBBMU), then send the printed form through Leopards Courier for Rs 3,500 per programme. You need a Sindh PRC and domicile, at least 60 per cent in FSc pre-medical, and MDCAT marks of 55 per cent for MBBS or 50 per cent for BDS.
The Sindh Health Department and Jinnah Sindh Medical University (JSMU) published the joint advertisement on 12 October 2026. We read it, along with JSMU's instruction sheet of 16 October, on 20 October. That leaves six days. If you sat MDCAT in September and are waiting to see whether your score is enough, apply anyway: the form is the only way into the merit list.
Nine public colleges in Sindh fill MBBS and BDS seats through one advert
The 2026-27 advert covers JSMU, Dow University (DUHS), LUMHS Jamshoro, SMBBMU Larkana, PUMHSW Nawabshah, KMU Karachi Medical and Dental College, SMBB Medical College Lyari, Khairpur Medical College and Gambat Medical College. Only three universities process the forms.
That last point catches students out. You do not apply to Dow or to Gambat directly. You apply to the processing university tagged to your district of domicile, and you list your preferred colleges inside that one form.
| Processing university | Apply on | Districts tagged |
|---|---|---|
| JSMU, Karachi | jsmu.edu.pk | All districts of Karachi |
| LUMHS, Jamshoro | lumhs.edu.pk | Hyderabad, Tharparkar, Sanghar, Umerkot, Shaheed Benazirabad, Jamshoro, Thatta, Matiari, Sujawal, Tando Allahyar, Badin, Tando Mohammad Khan, Mirpurkhas |
| SMBBMU, Larkana | admissions.smbbmu.edu.pk | Larkana, Kashmore, Shikarpur, Naushahro Feroze, Jacobabad, Sukkur, Dadu, Ghotki, Kamber-Shahdadkot, Khairpur |

You need 60 per cent in FSc and a passing MDCAT score
The advert asks for intermediate pre-medical or equivalent with at least 60 per cent. Under PMDC rules you also need MDCAT from 2024, 2025 or 2026, conducted by IBA Sukkur, with 55 per cent for MBBS or 50 per cent for BDS.
- Permanent resident of Sindh, from a district tagged to the processing university.
- HSSC pre-medical, A level or 12th grade equivalent, with at least 60 per cent marks.
- MDCAT passed in 2024, 2025 or 2026, held by IBA Sukkur in Sindh.
- At least 55 per cent in MDCAT for MBBS, or 50 per cent for BDS.
A level and 12th grade holders are named in the advert as equivalent. The advert also warns that if the government or a regulator changes policy, the new rule applies at once. That is standard wording, but it means the merit rules can move after you apply. How your final merit is worked out is in our note on MDCAT aggregate and merit.
How to apply for MBBS or BDS in Sindh before 26 October
Fill the online form on your tagged university's website, print it, attach every document on the checklist, put it in a labelled file and hand it in at a designated Leopards Courier branch by 26 October. MBBS and BDS need separate forms.
- Find your processing university from the district on your domicile.
- Fill the online form. JSMU's sheet says Section 4, Mandatory Information, carries your MDCAT details and your college preferences, so fill it slowly.
- Choose and rank your colleges with care. JSMU lists this as a separate instruction.
- Fill a second, separate form if you want BDS as well as MBBS.
- Print each form and attach the documents on that university's checklist.
- Write your name, father's name, district of domicile and programme clearly on the file cover.
- Hand each file to a designated Leopards Courier branch and pay Rs 3,500 per programme.
Leopards is the only accepted route. The advert says the Rs 3,500 covers both processing and courier charges, and applies "for each of program (MBBS and BDS) separately". So applying for both costs Rs 7,000. The list of designated branches is on each processing university's website.

Late or incomplete files are rejected
The advert is blunt: incomplete applications and those submitted after Monday 26 October 2026 will not be accepted. A missing attested copy or a file without its cover details can cost you the year.
JSMU's instruction sheet repeats the same points: give accurate MDCAT information, fill every mandatory field, prioritise colleges carefully, attach every document and review the form before final submission.
Students applying on foreign or overseas seats use a separate form on the processing university's website. Those seats have their own advert and rules.
Check the college and the fee before you rank it
All nine colleges on the advert are public, and the advert gives no fee for any of them. Before you put a college at the top of your list, check its PMDC recognition and ask the college for its annual fee.
Our check of whether a medical college is PMDC recognised takes a few minutes on the regulator's site. Students with family in another province can compare this round with the KMU MBBS and BDS admission in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, which runs on its own dates and domicile rules.

What MDCAT score do I need for BDS in Sindh?
At least 50 per cent for BDS and 55 per cent for MBBS, as the advert states under PMDC regulations.
Who do I contact with questions?
JSMU's admissions office at admissions@jsmu.edu.pk or 021-99205185, extensions 1058 and 1052.
How we verified this
What we checked, where we read it, and what we could not confirm.
We read the joint advertisement "Admissions in MBBS and BDS Session 2026-27" and JSMU's "Important Instruction and List of Required Documents" sheet dated 16 October 2026, both linked from the JSMU admissions page, on 20 October 2026. We did not open the LUMHS or SMBBMU portals, the document checklists or the Leopards branch list, so check those on your own processing university's site. The Rs 7,000 total for both programmes is our arithmetic from the advert.
