Under the Pakistan Sports Board cash award policy approved in July 2025, an Asian Games silver medal is reported to pay Rs 7 million and a bronze Rs 5 million. Pakistan won 2 silver and 8 bronze in 2026, so no gold rate applies. We found no announced payout for this Games yet.

Ten medals is Pakistan's best Asian Games count in 24 years, and the next question from fans is simple: what do the winners get? This page sets out the reported rates, what is still unclear, and how to check for an official announcement.

The reported rates are Rs 7 million for silver and Rs 5 million for bronze

The Pakistan Sports Board (PSB) raised its cash awards at its 34th board meeting on 28 July 2025. For the Asian Games, the reported rates are Rs 15 million for gold, Rs 7 million for silver and Rs 5 million for bronze.

A separate report of the same month said the Prime Minister approved a new reward policy with Rs 10 million for Asian Games gold, with silver and bronze the same at Rs 7 million and Rs 5 million. The two reports disagree only on gold. Pakistan won no gold in 2026, so the disagreement does not change anything this time.

Reported Pakistan Sports Board cash awards for Asian Games medals: Rs 7 million for silver and Rs 5 million for bronze

We read these figures in press reports of the policy. We could not open the PSB's own policy document, so please treat the amounts as reported until the Board publishes them.

Pakistan won 2 silver and 8 bronze medals

Pakistan's 10 medals are listed in the final Asian Games medal tally. The two silver medals came from the men's squash team and the men's cricket team. The eight bronze medals came from mixed martial arts, women's cricket, squash singles (two medals), esports, shooting, volleyball and hockey.

Some medals are individual, such as shooting and mixed martial arts. Others are team medals with many players: cricket, hockey, volleyball, squash team and esports. The policy rates are per medal, but we do not know how the Board splits a team award among its players.

The total cannot be worked out until the Board explains team awards

Simple arithmetic gives Rs 54 million: two silver at Rs 7 million is Rs 14 million, and eight bronze at Rs 5 million is Rs 40 million. That is a sum of the rates, not an announced payout. Team rules could change it either way.

Here is what we do not know, in order of importance:

  1. Whether each team member gets the full rate, or the rate is shared.
  2. Whether coaches and support staff are paid from the same amount.
  3. Whether the two squash singles bronze medals are paid separately, as the table counts them.
  4. Whether esports, a newer event, is covered by the same schedule as older sports.
  5. When the payments will be made.

A past example shows why this matters. When the Pakistan under-16 volleyball team won an Asian title in 2025, the PSB reported Rs 600,000 for each of 12 players and Rs 1 million for the head coach. That was a fixed amount per person, not one team award split 12 ways.

Other bodies may pay their own athletes on top

Federations, departments and provincial governments sometimes add their own awards. WAPDA, for example, has announced cash prizes for its own sportspersons who won medals in international events in 2025 and 2026. Armed forces teams and banks do the same for their staff.

So a medal winner can receive more than one payment. The PSB figure is a national floor, not a cap. We cannot say who will pay what for this Games, and we will not guess.

Fans often ask about the silver medallists in particular. The cricket final against India and the squash final loss to Malaysia both ended in silver, so those two squads would fall under the Rs 7 million rate.

How to check for an official announcement

An award is real only when the PSB, the Prime Minister's Office or a federation announces it. Press quotes of unnamed sources are not enough. Follow these steps before you share a number:

  1. Open the Pakistan Sports Board website and look under news and notifications.
  2. Check the Pakistan Olympic Association page for its own awards.
  3. Look for a notification with a date, a signature and a table of rates.
  4. Check that the amount is for this Games, not for an older one.
Four checks to confirm a Pakistan Asian Games cash award is official: PSB news, POA page, dated notice, 2026 Games

Be careful with old figures. Reward rates for the Asian Games have changed several times, and an amount from earlier years can still circulate on social media as if it were new.

Common questions

How much does Pakistan pay for an Asian Games silver medal?

The reported PSB rate is Rs 7 million per silver medal, under the cash award policy approved on 28 July 2025.

How much does an Asian Games bronze medal pay in Pakistan?

The reported PSB rate is Rs 5 million per bronze medal.

How many medals did Pakistan win at the Asian Games 2026?

Ten: no gold, two silver and eight bronze, according to the official results system we read on 3 October.

Have the 2026 medallists been paid yet?

We found no announced payment on 8 October 2026. Check the PSB website for a notification.

Do team members share one award or each get one?

That is not clear from the policy as reported. An under-16 volleyball award in 2025 paid a fixed sum to each player, but rules for the Asian Games may differ.

How we verified this

What we checked, where we read it, and what we could not confirm.

Last checked on 8 October 2026. Medal numbers come from the official results system of the Aichi-Nagoya 2026 Games, which we read on 3 October. The cash award rates come from press reports of the PSB's 34th board meeting of 28 July 2025 and of the Prime Minister's approval the same month. We could not open the PSB website on 8 October, so the amounts are marked reported. We will update this page when an official 2026 payout notice appears.
