ATM Cash Withdrawal Limits in Pakistan: Daily Limit by Bank and Card
PayPak stops at Rs 50,000 a day, Visa at Rs 100,000, Platinum at up to Rs 400,000. See daily ATM limits at HBL, MCB, Alfalah and Meezan. See how to raise yours.

Your daily ATM limit depends on the card, not the bank. A PayPak card at Meezan Bank or HBL stops at Rs 50,000 a day. A Visa Classic at Bank Alfalah allows Rs 100,000, and an MCB Visa Platinum allows Rs 400,000. Banks print these figures on their own card pages, and they differ a lot.
We opened the debit card pages of MCB, Bank Alfalah and Meezan Bank on 7 October 2026, and we read our earlier check of HBL's card pages. We also read each bank's Schedule of Bank Charges for July to December 2026. The numbers below come from those pages only.
Two banks gave us nothing usable. Allied Bank and Bank AL Habib do not print a daily ATM cap in text we could read, so we leave them out of the table instead of guessing.
Daily ATM withdrawal limits by bank and card in 2026
The cash limit is a daily cap on what one card can take out of ATMs in a day. PayPak cards are the lowest at Rs 50,000 to Rs 100,000. Mid range Visa and Mastercard cards sit between Rs 100,000 and Rs 200,000. Platinum cards reach Rs 300,000 to Rs 400,000.
| Bank and card | Daily ATM cash limit |
|---|---|
| HBL PayPak | Rs 50,000 |
| HBL Classic (Visa, Mastercard, UnionPay) | Rs 100,000 |
| HBL Gold | Rs 200,000 |
| HBL Mastercard World | Rs 500,000 |
| MCB PayPak Classic | Rs 75,000 |
| MCB PayPak Gold | Rs 100,000 |
| MCB Visa Silver | Rs 100,000 |
| MCB Visa Gold | Rs 200,000 |
| MCB Visa Platinum | Rs 400,000 |
| Bank Alfalah Visa Classic | Rs 100,000 |
| Bank Alfalah Visa Gold | Rs 150,000 |
| Bank Alfalah Visa Platinum | Rs 300,000 |
| Meezan PayPak | Rs 50,000 |
| Meezan Visa Platinum | Rs 200,000 |
| Meezan Mastercard Titanium | Rs 300,000 |
MCB also lists smaller limits for special cards: Rs 75,000 for its Ladies and Mastercard Classic cards, Rs 25,000 for the Fun Club card and Rs 200,000 for the Nayab card. The HBL figures come from our breakdown of HBL debit card types and fees.
The per transaction limit is lower than the daily limit
A daily cap is not the same as what one ATM visit will give you. Meezan Bank states a single transaction limit next to the daily one, and it shows the pattern. On the Titanium card, one withdrawal at a Meezan ATM can be up to Rs 200,000 of the Rs 300,000 daily limit. At another bank's ATM, one withdrawal is capped at Rs 50,000, though the day's total can still reach Rs 300,000.
On the Meezan PayPak card the single and daily limits are the same, Rs 50,000. So one withdrawal uses the whole day.
The ATM machine itself also has a limit, set by the bank that owns it. That is why a card that can take Rs 200,000 a day may still give only Rs 25,000 or Rs 50,000 per attempt at a small branch machine. Split it into two or three withdrawals. Each one on another bank's ATM costs a fee, covered next.
Other bank ATMs cost Rs 35 a withdrawal
Taking cash from a different bank's ATM costs Rs 35 per withdrawal at Allied Bank and Bank AL Habib, according to their schedules. Meezan Bank's card pages show the same Rs 35 on 1Link ATMs other than its own. Your own bank's ATM is free of this fee.
Three withdrawals at a stranger's machine to reach a high limit therefore costs Rs 105. A withdrawal at your own bank's machine costs nothing. The rise to this figure is explained in our note on the inter-bank ATM fee going to Rs 35.
Optional receipts have a small charge too. MCB, Allied and Bank AL Habib list Rs 4.67 for a printed receipt, so skip it if you do not need it.
Large withdrawals can trigger a tax for non-filers
The bank limit and the tax rule are different things. A bank may allow Rs 200,000 a day, but if you are not on the active taxpayer list, cash withdrawals above Rs 50,000 in a day attract a 0.8 per cent tax. Our explainer on the cash withdrawal tax on non-filers has the details and how to check your status.
If you plan a big withdrawal for rent, a deposit or a wedding, check your filer status first. It can save you a few hundred or a few thousand rupees.
How to raise your ATM limit
There are two ways: a one-day increase, or a better card. Some banks sell a temporary increase for a small fee. Bank Alfalah charges Rs 250 plus FED for a higher cash limit for one day, set through an ATM. Allied Bank lists a temporary limit increase fee for ATM cash through its ATM and the myABL app, starting at Rs 200 on Basic and Asaan cards and rising with the card tier.
- Open your bank's app or visit its ATM and look for the card limit or limit upgrade option.
- Pick the limit you need and the day it applies.
- Pay the fee shown. At Bank Alfalah it is Rs 250 plus FED for the day.
- Withdraw the same day. The higher limit does not carry over.
- If you need a higher limit every week, ask the branch to upgrade the card to Gold or Platinum.
An upgrade costs money every year. At HBL, a Gold card costs Rs 3,800 a year against Rs 3,000 for Classic, and the limit doubles from Rs 100,000 to Rs 200,000. For other banks, compare the annual fee with the extra limit before you pay.
Lower your limit to protect your account
A smaller limit protects you if the card is stolen. HBL Mobile lets you lower the cash, shopping and transfer limits on your card. If you lose the card, block the ATM card at once instead of waiting for the limit to protect you.
If the machine takes your money but gives no cash, the problem is separate from your limit. Our guide on getting money back when an ATM gives no cash covers it.
Common questions
What is the maximum ATM withdrawal limit per day in Pakistan?
It depends on your card. The highest in our check was Rs 500,000 on the HBL Mastercard World. Most Classic and Gold cards sit between Rs 100,000 and Rs 200,000 a day.
Why can I not withdraw Rs 50,000 at once from an ATM?
The machine may have its own per transaction cap, or the cash cassette may hold only small notes. Try a smaller amount, or use an ATM from your own bank.
Does a PayPak card have a lower limit than Visa?
Yes, at the banks we checked. PayPak is Rs 50,000 at HBL and Meezan Bank, Rs 75,000 for MCB PayPak Classic, and Rs 100,000 for MCB PayPak Gold.
Can I raise my ATM limit for one day?
At some banks, yes. Bank Alfalah charges Rs 250 plus FED a day through an ATM. Allied Bank sells the same through its ATM and myABL. Check your own bank's app.
Is there a fee for using another bank's ATM?
Yes. The schedules we read show Rs 35 per withdrawal on another bank's ATM. Your own bank's ATM does not carry that fee.
How we verified this
What we checked, where we read it, and what we could not confirm.
Checked on 7 October 2026. MCB, Bank Alfalah and Meezan Bank debit card pages, and the Schedule of Bank Charges for 1 July to 31 December 2026 from MCB, Allied Bank, Bank AL Habib, Bank Alfalah, Meezan Bank and HBL. HBL limits are from our check of its card pages on 27 September 2026. Banks change limits without notice, so confirm in your app before a large withdrawal.
