Bank Jobs in Pakistan: How to Apply Online on Official Careers Pages

Bank jobs in Pakistan are applied for online, on each bank's own careers portal. Start from the bank's official website, click its careers link, and apply there. None of the eight careers pages we read on 29 September 2026 asks for an application fee.

That last point is your best protection. Fake bank job adverts spread on social media and WhatsApp, and they usually end with a request for a "processing" or "test" fee paid to a mobile wallet. A real bank's portal takes your CV, not your money.

We read the careers pages of HBL, UBL, MCB, Meezan Bank, Bank Alfalah, Allied Bank, National Bank of Pakistan and the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP). Below is where each one sends you and what its graduate programmes ask for. We did not submit an application.

Official careers portals of Pakistani banks

Every bank we checked runs hiring through one online route, reached from a "Careers" link on its own website. Some host it themselves, and others use an outside recruitment system that the bank's own site links to. Always begin on the bank's official domain, never from a forwarded link.

Two of these send you off the bank's own domain, and that is normal. UBL's careers link opens an online hiring system, and Meezan's opens a Meezan page on a job portal. The safe habit is simple: reach the portal by clicking from the bank's website, not from a link someone forwarded.

Graduate trainee programmes at the big banks

Most banks hire fresh graduates through a named trainee programme. MCB, HBL and Bank Alfalah each run one, and SBP runs three training schemes for graduates with 16 years of education. The rules differ, so read the bank's own programme page before applying.

MCB Trainee Business Officer Program. MCB lists the clearest criteria of any bank we read. You need at least 16 years of education from an HEC recognised university or a foreign institute, a CGPA of at least 3.00, your final transcript or degree in hand, and age no more than 27 on the date the advert is published. Selected trainees get 5 weeks of classroom training, then rotation, then placement anywhere in Pakistan. MCB also lists a Management Trainee Program and a Summer Internship Program.

HBL The League. HBL calls The League its flagship programme and says applications are invited from January to March every year. Its page lists a Management Trainee Programme and an Accelerate Graduate Programme under it.

Bank Alfalah ALFA LEAD. Alfalah's careers page has an "Apply to ALFA LEAD Management Trainee" link to its 2026 assessment site. It also runs a summer internship for third-year students and a 4 to 6 week paid internship for persons with disabilities.

SBP training schemes. SBP runs yearly induction programmes for fresh graduates with 16 years of education: the State Bank Officers Training Scheme (SBOTS), the Economic Analysts Training Scheme and the Statistical Officers Training Scheme.

How to apply for a bank job online

Open the bank's official website, click "Careers", create a profile on its portal, upload your CV and apply to a specific opening. Trainee programmes can add tests and interviews. Keep your login details, because updates and test invitations come to that profile and email.

1. Type the bank's web address yourself, or search for the bank's name and check the address.
2. Click "Careers" on the official site and follow it to the job portal.
3. Create a profile with a personal email address you check daily.
4. Upload a short CV and fill in your education exactly as on your degree.
5. Apply to one listed opening at a time and note the closing date.
6. Watch your email and SMS for test and interview dates from the bank.

Read the entry criteria before you apply. Many Bank Alfalah front line roles we saw, such as Relationship Manager or Officer Sales for cards, ask for 14 years of education from an HEC recognised institute. Its Counter Service Officer role took fresh candidates or those with up to 2 years of experience.

How NBP and SBP hiring differs

National Bank of Pakistan's careers page does not run an online portal. It asks candidates to send a CV with a short cover letter to its Human Resource Management Department at NBP Building, I.I. Chundrigar Road. SBP posts openings on its own careers page and runs graduate schemes each year.

NBP's page says the bank employs more than 15,000 people and names what it looks for: team players, IT skills, analytical and problem solving skills, and good written and spoken English.

SBP is the central bank, not a commercial bank, but its jobs draw huge interest. Besides the three graduate schemes, it hires experienced people laterally in various grades, and takes contract staff for specialised short projects. Its careers page points to a "Real Time/Ongoing Recruitment Status" tab for which posts are open.

Fake bank job adverts and fee requests

A job advert that asks you to pay before a test, an interview or a joining letter is a warning sign. None of the careers pages we read asks for any fee. Check any advert against the bank's own careers page. If the job is not listed there, treat it as fake.

• Payment to a mobile wallet or personal account. A bank would not collect a job fee through someone's wallet.
• An offer without a test or interview. MCB, for example, says its trainees are shortlisted and interviewed.
• A link sent by WhatsApp or SMS. Go to the bank's website yourself instead.
• An email from a free address. Check that any email matches the bank's own web address.
• Pressure to pay "today" to keep your seat. A real selection process runs to its own published dates.
