Short answer: BISE Peshawar has suspended all SSC Annual-II 2026 papers that were due from Monday 12 October, until further orders. It says no new date has been fixed. Students should not go to an exam centre until the board posts a revised date sheet on its website.

This changes what we reported earlier on 12 October. At that time BISE Peshawar's home page still showed its 7 October date sheet, with the first paper on 12 October. The board has since put up a press release that cancels that start.

We read the press release on the board's own website on 12 October 2026. It is a one page notice in Urdu, signed by the Controller of Examinations and dated 11 October.

BISE Peshawar suspended every SSC Annual-II paper due from 12 October

The press release says the board was to hold the Secondary School Certificate Annual-II 2026 papers from Monday 12 October. All of them are postponed until further orders. It adds that this is in line with the other boards of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

SSC means the matric exam for Class 9 and Class 10. Annual-II is the second annual sitting, where students clear failed papers or improve marks. The notice applies to this sitting only.

The board will announce new dates and a revised date sheet later

The notice says the new dates and a reviewed date sheet will be announced by the board in due course. It does not give a date for that announcement and it does not state a reason for the suspension.

Principals, superintendents, deputy superintendents, inspectors and other staff on exam duty are told to follow instructions the board issues later. Students, parents and teachers are told to rely on the board's official website for new dates and other details.

The board also asks people not to depend on unverified information or rumours. That is worth taking seriously this week. Forwarded date sheets are already circulating, and none of them is the board's revised schedule.

This is a second change in a week for Peshawar students

The board had already moved the start once. Its re-revised date sheet, posted on 7 October, put the first paper on 12 October, which we covered in the BISE Peshawar SSC Annual-II date sheet.

That sheet no longer holds. Do not use the paper dates printed on it. Keep your roll number slip, because it is your identity at the centre, but expect the paper date on it to change.

The neighbouring boards went the same way a day earlier. The notices of the other two boards are set out in the report on the BISE Mardan and Malakand postponement, and Malakand's earlier schedule change is in the note on its revised date sheet.

Other boards in the province are reported to have done the same

The Peshawar notice itself says the other KP boards have postponed their papers. We have read the notices of Peshawar, Mardan and Malakand directly. We could not open the official pages of the remaining boards, so we do not list their status here.

Reports on 12 October also say that district administrations closed schools, colleges and universities in several KP districts that day. We did not read those orders at source, so we treat them as reported. Check your own district's order if you need to know about a closure.

The Inter exams are a separate matter. BISE Peshawar's online admission notice for HSSC Annual-II 2026 is dated 7 October and appears on the same page as the press release. The details are in the report on the BISE Peshawar Inter second annual exam.

What to do until a revised date sheet appears

Keep revising, keep your slip and check one source only: your own board's website. A new date will appear there before it appears anywhere reliable.

  1. Confirm the board named on your roll number slip. It should say Peshawar for this notice.
  2. Open the board's website and look at the notices or press release section once a day.
  3. Look for a "revised date sheet", not a picture forwarded on a messaging app.
  4. Keep your roll number slip, CNIC or B-form, and school card in one folder.
  5. Ask your school office for circulars if you cannot get online.
Five steps for SSC Annual-II candidates while BISE Peshawar papers are suspended

A paper that is postponed is not cancelled. Your registration for the Annual-II sitting still stands, and the board will fix a new date. We could not confirm whether late fees or extra forms will be needed, and the notice does not say so.

No reason and no new date have been given

Common questions

Is the BISE Peshawar SSC Annual-II exam cancelled?

No. The press release postpones all papers until further orders. It says new dates and a revised date sheet will be announced later.

When will the new date sheet come?

The board has not said. The notice only promises an announcement later. Check bisep.edu.pk for it.

Do I need a new roll number slip?

The notice does not mention one. Keep your current slip and wait for the board's instructions.

Why did the board suspend the exam?

The press release gives no reason. It only says the papers are postponed like those of the other KP boards.

Are Intermediate papers affected?

Not by this notice. It covers SSC Annual-II only. The HSSC Annual-II admission notice of 7 October is separate.

Where can I read the notice?

On the BISE Peshawar website, under its latest updates, as "Press Release - SSC Annual-II Exam 2026 suspended till further orders".

How we verified this

What we checked, where we read it, and what we could not confirm.

We read the BISE Peshawar press release on the board's official website on 12 October 2026. We also read the home pages of BISE Mardan and BISE Malakand the same day. A new date sheet can appear at any time, so check the board's page again before you travel to a centre.
