You can book an Airblue flight on its website until one hour before departure, pay online only by credit or debit card, and hold a seat for up to 24 hours before paying at a sales office or payment centre. You cannot change the booking yourself on the website afterwards. Changes go through the call centre on 111-247-258.

Many travellers in Pakistan do not have a card, or book a flight late and wonder how close to departure they can still do it. We read the help page on airblue.com on 21 October 2026, and checked its ticket terms and check-in page. The help page is general and may be older than other pages, so we flag where it is thin.

Online booking closes one hour before departure

The airline says you must book your flight at least one hour before scheduled flight time. A flight at 6 pm cannot be bought on the website after 5 pm. That is the booking limit, not the check-in limit, and check-in closes earlier for most passengers.

For a last minute trip, do not rely on the last hour. Domestic counters close 45 minutes before departure, so a booking at 5 pm for a 6 pm flight leaves almost no time. The check-in times are in our guide to Airblue baggage and check-in. Book at least two to three hours ahead where you can.

Online payment is by credit or debit card only

Airblue says you may only pay for travel online by credit or debit card. BlueMiles, its frequent flyer points, cannot be used to pay on the website. If you do not have a card, use the hold option and pay at an office instead.

The airline says it uses security applications and utilities to protect card details. We did not test its payment page. Book only on the airline's own domain, airblue.com, and be careful with a lookalike link sent on WhatsApp. For help with ticket refunds on another airline, see the guide to PIA ticket booking and refunds.

You can hold a seat for up to 24 hours

The help page says you may reserve a seat through the website and the reservation is held for up to 24 hours. You can pay in person at a sales office or a payment centre. If you do not pay in time the hold ends.

The page does not list the payment centres or the offices, and it does not say whether the price is fixed during the hold. We could not verify either. If the fare matters, ask the call centre before you rely on the hold. Also remember the one hour rule: a hold made late in the day for an early flight may not be possible.

After booking, changes go through the call centre

The help page says you may not personally make any changes to your reservation on the website. Cancellations, refunds, flight transfers and name changes are handled by phone on 111-247-258, which is 111-airblue.

The ticket terms say refunds need a CNIC number for each passenger, and exchanges are for the same sector only, with fees per passenger and the fare difference. The exact fees are shown on your e-ticket, not on the page. Our guide to Airblue passenger rights covers what the airline owes you after a delay.

Keep the confirmation number and print the receipt

The confirmation number for a reservation is shown on the itinerary and confirmation screen. The help page says the booking is complete when you are prompted to print your ticket receipt. Save a copy as a file and take a screenshot of the number.

The number lets you check in on the airline's mobile and web check-in service. Without it you must queue at the counter. We could not find a way to look up a lost confirmation number on the page we read, so write it down.

  1. Choose your flight on airblue.com at least one hour before departure.
  2. Enter every name exactly as on the CNIC or passport.
  3. Pay by card, or hold the seat for up to 24 hours.
  4. If you hold, pay at a sales office or payment centre before the hold ends.
  5. Save the confirmation number and the ticket receipt.

How we verified this

What we checked, where we read it, and what we could not confirm.

Last checked 21 October 2026. The one hour limit, card only payment, 24 hour hold and call centre rule come from the help page at airblue.com. Refund and exchange conditions come from its ticket terms page, and the check-in service from its check-in page, all read on that date. The help page looks general and may be older than the rest of the site. We could not find the sales office list, the fare rule during a hold or a lookup for a lost confirmation number. We did not make a booking.
