Short answer: You book a Gulf work medical on wafid.com. A Standard appointment costs $10 and Wafid assigns the centre by your city. A Premium appointment costs $25 and lets you pick the centre and the date. You pay by card, then print your slip and go to the centre.

Many first-time workers hand their passport to an agent and wait for a date. That works until the date is wrong, the centre is two cities away, or the details on the slip do not match the passport. A few minutes on the booking form, done yourself, prevents most of it.

We read the Wafid FAQ and the booking form on 12 October 2026. We did not submit a booking, because that needs a real passport and a card payment. Everything below is what those pages say.

Wafid is the Gulf Health Council booking system for GCC medicals

Wafid is a programme under the Gulf Health Council. It lets people who are going to work or live in a GCC country book the medical check-up. Its FAQ lists Pakistan among the eligible countries, and it says an applicant of any age can book.

The GCC, or Gulf Cooperation Council, is the group of six Gulf states: Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Qatar, Kuwait, Oman and Bahrain. The medical is one stage of a work visa, after the job offer and before the visa is stamped. It also appears in the Qatar work visa steps. Our guide to the UAE work visa process shows where it sits in the chain.

The form asks which visa you need. The options on the page are Work Visa, Family Visa and Study Visa. Pick the one that matches your case, because the slip carries it.

Standard costs $10 and Premium costs $25

The booking form offers two appointment types. Standard is a basic appointment scheduled by availability. Premium gives you control over the medical centre and the appointment date. The page prices them at $10 and $25.

Appointment typePrice on the formWhat you control
Standard$10Nothing extra. Wafid assigns the centre automatically from your city and schedules by availability.
Premium$25The medical centre and the appointment date.

The $10 and $25 are Wafid's appointment fees. The FAQ says the cost is $10 per appointment. We did not find the centre's own examination fee in Pakistan on the pages we read, so we do not quote one. Ask the centre or your employer's recruiter, and ask for a receipt.

Have these details ready before you open the form

The form collects first name, last name, date of birth, nationality, gender, marital status, passport number and expiry date, email, phone number, national ID and the position applied for. The slip is generated from the passport number and nationality, so a typing mistake there causes trouble later.

  1. Open wafid.com and choose to book an appointment.
  2. Select your country, your city and the country you are travelling to.
  3. Choose Standard or Premium.
  4. Enter your details exactly as they appear in your passport.
  5. Choose the visa type, then confirm the declaration that the information is true and accurate.
  6. Pay the fee by card, then generate your slip and visit the centre.

One warning from the form itself: if you cancel the booking process, the entries are not saved. You start again.

Pay by card and type the expiry date as year then month

The FAQ has a payment tip that catches people. It says to check that all card details are correct and that the expiry date is entered as year then month, written YYMM. A card expiring in March 2029 goes in as 2903, not 0329.

Once the payment goes through, use the print slip tab. The FAQ says to enter the passport number and the nationality, then tap generate. The same two details bring the slip back if you lose it.

Take the printed slip to the medical centre soon after booking. The FAQ tells you to visit the centre at your earliest convenience.

You cannot change the date, and corrections go through the centre

The FAQ is blunt on dates: the examination date cannot be changed or edited. For a slip cancellation, it points you to Wafid's support email. So book a date you can keep, and choose Premium if your work or travel makes a fixed city or date important.

Wrong details are a separate matter. The FAQ says to contact the medical centre and ask for either "Change candidate details" or "Change medical exam request". It says the process is free of charge. Do this before the exam, not after the result is uploaded.

Results appear within 26 days of the examination, says the FAQ. If the result is UNFIT, you can rebook only two months after the date of the existing report. The page lists the unfit conditions: HIV, hepatitis B and C, TB, leprosy, kidney, liver or heart failure, uncontrolled high blood pressure or diabetes, cancer, psychiatric disorders and a haemoglobin level below the stated limit.

When the exam is done, checking your Gulf medical report by passport number takes a minute and costs nothing. The status page asks for the passport number and nationality, or the slip number.

Common questions

How much does a Wafid medical appointment cost?

A Standard appointment is $10 and a Premium appointment is $25, according to the booking form. The FAQ states $10 per appointment. The centre's examination fee in Pakistan is separate and we could not confirm it from the Wafid pages.

Can I choose my medical centre?

Only with a Premium appointment. With Standard, the FAQ says the centre is assigned automatically based on your city. You can see all centres by country and city on the Medical centers tab.

Can I change my appointment date?

No. The FAQ says the examination date cannot be changed or edited. For cancelling a slip, it points to the support email on the site.

What if my name or passport number is wrong on the slip?

Contact the medical centre and request a "Change candidate details" correction. The FAQ says this is free. Do it before the examination.

How long do results take?

Results appear within 26 days of the examination, per the FAQ. You can check the status with your passport number and nationality, or with your slip number.

When can I take the medical again after an unfit result?

The FAQ says you may rebook a new appointment two months after the date of the existing report.

How we verified this

What we checked, where we read it, and what we could not confirm.

We read the Wafid FAQ and the booking page on 12 October 2026. The pages did not state how long a passed report stays valid for a visa, so confirm that with your employer's recruiter. Fees and rules can change, so read both pages again before you pay.
