Short answer: Maryam ko Batayn is a Punjab helpline, 1000, announced in February 2026 to give needy families up to Rs 10,000 within 24 hours. The Punjab Portal still lists 1000 as "Active" on 12 October 2026. We could not confirm the current eligibility rules from any official page, so the amount and conditions below are reported.

Search for the scheme and you will find a dozen sites, each with a "Register" button and a different list of conditions. Most are not government sites. One of the addresses they repeat most often belongs to the government, and it does not look like what they describe.

We opened it, and the other official pages, on 12 October 2026. This is what is confirmed, what is only reported, and what you should do before you give a CNIC number to anyone.

The programme was announced for Ramazan with up to Rs 10,000 in 24 hours

On 16 February 2026 the Chief Minister announced the programme in a post on X, as reported the next day. Eligible people could receive up to Rs 10,000 within 24 hours, starting from the first day of Ramazan, and a helpline, 1000, would take applications.

The announcement also said applicants could enter a CNIC number on a web portal or mobile app, and a digital system would check it. People already in the Punjab Socio-Economic Registry were to be paid within 24 hours, and new applicants verified within four days. Live tracking and digital records were promised.

The official helplines page still lists 1000 as active

The Punjab Portal's helplines page names "Maryam ko Batayn" at 1000 with the status "Active". We read it on 12 October 2026. That is the only official confirmation we found that the line exists after Ramazan.

It does not say who is eligible, what is paid or whether the Ramazan limit still applies. It also does not print opening hours. So call 1000 yourself and ask, rather than relying on a post that quotes figures from February.

The portal address in search results is a staff login page

Several pages in search results say you register at mkb.punjab.gov.pk. We opened that address on 12 October 2026. It is a sign-in page titled "MKB, Citizen relationship management", with a username, a password, a captcha and a "Forgot Password" link. It has no "Register" button and no form for citizens.

That fits a back-office system used by call-centre staff, not a public sign-up form. We do not know the full purpose of the page, so we do not claim more than we saw. The point is simple. If a site tells you to "register" there and then enter your CNIC, treat it with suspicion.

Call 1000 and ask these questions

The helpline is the one channel the government itself lists. Prepare before you dial, and write down the name of the agent and the reference number you are given.

  1. Dial 1000 from the mobile number you want linked to your case.
  2. Say that you are calling about Maryam ko Batayn financial assistance.
  3. Give your CNIC number only to the agent on the call. Do not read out any OTP.
  4. Ask who qualifies now, what amount is paid and how long verification takes.
  5. Ask how payment will reach you, and from which account or agent.
  6. Write down the agent's name, the time of the call and your reference number.

If the aid is for a specific need, a different programme may fit better. Our guides to the Maryam Nawaz ration card and to Zakat help in Punjab show what each pays and who can apply.

Lookalike sites and agents are the real risk

Any scheme that promises cash in a day attracts imitators. Search results for the scheme show several websites that use the programme's name and offer to "register" you or "check status". The ones we saw listed do not end in .gov.pk. Anything that asks for a CNIC, a mobile number or a wallet number on such a site is a risk.

  • A government domain ends in .gov.pk. Check the full address, not the name on the page.
  • Do not pay anyone to "approve" or "speed up" aid. We found no fee named on any official page.
  • Do not share an OTP, a PIN or a wallet password with a caller who says they are from the scheme.
  • Do not forward the link or number you were sent until you have matched it to the Punjab Portal list.

Your household's registry status is a separate matter. See our guide to checking your household in PSER before you apply for any Punjab programme.

What we checked, where we read it, and what we could not confirm.

We read the Punjab Portal helplines page and opened mkb.punjab.gov.pk on 12 October 2026. We did not call 1000, install the app or file an application. The programme details are from the Chief Minister's announcement as reported in February 2026.
