SSGC Emergency and Zone Office Numbers: Karachi, Hyderabad, Larkana and Quetta
SSGC's helpline is 1199 and its Karachi emergency centre is 99021167. See every zone office, regional emergency and WhatsApp number for Sindh and Quetta.

For a gas leak or an outage in Sindh or Quetta, call SSGC on 1199 first. If you want your own zone, the Karachi emergency centre is 99021167 and each Karachi zone office has its own number, listed below. SSGC also lists emergency centres for Hyderabad, Larkana, Quetta and Nawabshah.
When gas smells strong in a lane, a helpline queue feels very long. The faster call is often to the zone office that covers your street. We read SSGC's Important Numbers page on 22 October 2026 and copied the numbers as printed. We did not ring them, so we cannot say how quickly each one answers.
SSGC's main contacts are 1199, a head office line and two WhatsApp numbers
SSGC lists its helpline as 1199 for Karachi, Hyderabad, Larkana, Nawabshah and Quetta. Its head office number is (+9221) 9902 1000, also written 99021000. It also lists two WhatsApp numbers, 0330-3999179 and 0330-3999178, as "Official WhatsApp Number".
For a safety problem, a phone call is the right tool. Use WhatsApp for a billing question that does not need an answer in minutes. Keep your customer number from the bill ready for either.

Karachi has a central emergency centre and 15 zone and area offices

The page does not say which streets each zone covers. The labels read as zone offices and area offices to us, but SSGC does not define them. Match your area by name, using the address printed on your bill.
Hyderabad, Larkana, Nawabshah and Quetta each have an emergency centre
Each regional emergency centre has its own landline, and each region repeats the 1199 helpline. Hyderabad lists 0221-050021 and 0221-610190. Larkana lists 0741-45777 and 0741-43995. Nawabshah lists 0241-60600 and 0241-61752. Quetta lists 081-9203652.
Regional helpline numbers sit beside 1199 for Larkana (0323-8213275), Nawabshah (0323-8213273) and Sukkur (0323-8213274). Sukkur's page entry shows only that mobile number as its help line and no emergency centre.

Smaller towns have local office numbers too. SSGC prints many of them as short numbers without an area code, for example Kotri 87041, Hala 2927 or Dadu 3334. We cannot tell the dialling format from the page. Add the district's STD code and, if the call does not connect, use 1199.
Write the number you use on a card and keep it near the kitchen. In a real leak you will not want to search a website. Save 1199 and your zone office in your phone under a name you will remember, such as "Gas leak SSGC". Tell older relatives and tenants where the card is, and show children that gas problems mean leaving the house first and calling second.
If your area is not in the Karachi table, such as a new society on the edge of the city, call the central emergency centre and ask which zone to use. SSGC does not publish a street-by-street map on this page, so the staff are the only way to learn it.
What to say on the call, in order
Give your location first, then what you smell or see, then your customer number. For a suspected leak, move people out of the house and away from switches before you call. Do not light a match or use a phone inside the room with the smell.
- Leave the room or house, and keep everyone clear of electrical switches.
- Close the main gas valve if you can reach it without crossing the smell.
- Call 1199, or the emergency centre or zone office for your area.
- Give the street, nearest landmark and your customer number.
- Ask for a complaint number and the time you called.

The safety steps are general good practice, not from SSGC's number page. For heaters and geysers, our guide to using a gas heater and geyser safely goes through the winter risks. For a cylinder at home, see LPG cylinder safety.
After the emergency, any billing or meter problem goes through the regular route in how long SSGC takes to fix gas problems.

How we verified this
What we checked, where we read it, and what we could not confirm.
Last checked 22 October 2026. All numbers come from SSGC's Important Numbers page at ssgc.com.pk and the front page of sngpl.com.pk for SNGPL's helpline, both read that day. The page does not label each number's purpose, so we read the labels as printed. We did not call any number, and SSGC states no operating hours for them. The safety steps in the list are general practice and are not SSGC instructions.
