Check Your Age for BPSC Jobs in Balochistan: One Day Over Makes You Ineligible

BPSC counts age from your Matric date of birth to the closing date, and one day over or under means no eligibility. Check your age in Balochistan first.

Short answer: BPSC counts your age from the date of birth on your Matriculation certificate up to the closing date of the advertisement. BPSC's own FAQ says a candidate underage or overage by even one day is not eligible. If the certificate has no date of birth, use a school leaving certificate or CNIC.

A one day mistake can cost you a fee and a year. Applicants in Balochistan often work out their age from the CNIC, or from today's date, and get it wrong. BPSC does neither.

We read the FAQ page of the Balochistan Public Service Commission on 14 October 2026. It answers how age is calculated and what happens at the edge of a limit. Some of its lines are old, and we flag those below.

BPSC counts age on the closing date

BPSC calculates age from the date of birth printed on your Secondary School Certificate (Matriculation), measured against the closing date of the advertisement. It does not use the day you apply or today's date. A candidate who applies early still has the closing date used.

That makes the closing date the only date that matters. Write it down from the advertisement, then count your age on that day. Our report on BPSC Advertisement 09/2026, which closes on 11 November gives one such date.

Four steps to check your age for a BPSC post

The Matric date decides, unless it is missing

If your Matriculation equivalent, such as Senior Cambridge or O-level, does not show your date of birth, BPSC asks for a school leaving certificate that does, or a CNIC issued by NADRA. The date of birth on your CNIC is not the first choice.

Your situationDocument BPSC uses for age
Matric certificate shows date of birthMatriculation certificate
O-level or Senior Cambridge without date of birthSchool leaving certificate with date of birth
No school leaving certificateCNIC issued by NADRA

If your CNIC and Matric disagree, the Matric governs. Fixing a Matric date is a board matter and takes time, so do not wait for an advertisement to find the problem. Check both documents now.

One day over or under makes you ineligible

BPSC states that a candidate who is underage or overage by even one day is not eligible. There is no grace period. If the advertisement sets a minimum age of 18 and you reach 18 the day after the closing date, you cannot apply.

Here is an example. Say a post has a minimum age of 18 and closes on 11 November 2026. A candidate born on 12 November 2008 is 17 years and 364 days old on the closing date. By BPSC's rule that is one day under, so the application is not eligible.

  1. Find the closing date in the advertisement.
  2. Find the age limit for your post, because each post can differ.
  3. Read the date of birth on your Matric certificate.
  4. Count your age on the closing date, in years and days.
  5. Apply only if you are inside the limit on that exact day.
BPSC allows no grace of even one day on age

Age relaxation depends on the current notification

BPSC says upper age is generally relaxed under a notification of the Government of Balochistan. The FAQ gives a relaxation up to 43 years, but only for 24 June 2022 to 23 June 2023, so that figure is old. Some departmental service rules have no upper limit.

So read the relaxation line in your own advertisement. Do not copy a figure from social media or from an old post. The advertisement is the document BPSC uses, and the Commission says its eligibility rests on the service rules notified by the S&GAD department.

If you are already in service, route your application through your department with permission attached. The FAQ says so, and our general advice on getting a government employee NOC explains the paper. For the application steps, see how to apply for BPSC jobs online.

Age is counted from the Matric date of birth to the closing date

If BPSC finds a deficiency later

BPSC says that if it finds a serious deficiency in a candidate's eligibility at any stage, it may cancel the candidature or withdraw the nomination. That can happen after a written test or an interview, so a wrong age can undo months of effort.

The FAQ also says you need a Balochistan domicile or local certificate for BPSC posts, and a verified copy is required after you qualify the written or MCQ test. Age, degree, experience and domicile are all checked against the advertisement and service rules.

Keep copies of your Matric certificate, CNIC and any school leaving certificate in one folder before you apply. The same folder will serve you when the Commission calls you for document checks, as the BPSC Patwari interview schedule shows for one batch.

Common questions

Which date does BPSC use to count my age?

The closing date of the advertisement. It measures your age from the date of birth on your Matriculation certificate.

Can I apply if I am one day overage?

No. BPSC's FAQ says a candidate underage or overage by even one day is not eligible for a post.

What if my O-level certificate shows no date of birth?

You must produce a school leaving certificate with your date of birth, or a CNIC issued by NADRA.

Is the age limit the same for every BPSC post?

No. Each advertisement and service rule sets its own age limit, and some departmental rules have no upper limit at all.

Is the 43 year relaxation still valid?

We cannot say. The FAQ ties it to 24 June 2022 to 23 June 2023, so check the relaxation printed in your advertisement.

How we verified this

What we checked, where we read it, and what we could not confirm.

Last checked on 14 October 2026, Pakistan time. We read the BPSC FAQs page. The page is undated and some answers refer to older notifications. We did not read the Balochistan service rules or the current age relaxation notification, so the closing date and age limit in your advertisement come first.
