Check What FBR Knows About You on the Maloomaat Portal
Use FBR's Maloomaat portal to see the records FBR holds about you: withholding, vehicles, property, travel and bank transactions. Read what to check first.

Short answer: FBR runs a portal called Maloomaat where any citizen can enrol and see the data FBR holds about them. It is reached through iris.fbr.gov.pk/public/txpAILogin.xhtml. FBR says it shows withholding data, vehicles, properties, frequent travel, debit and credit transactions and educational expenses.
Most people find out what FBR knows about them the hard way, in a notice. You can look first. A car in your name, a plot, a school fee, a foreign trip: FBR says these records feed its picture of who should be on the tax roll, and the portal lets you see that picture before an officer does.
We read FBR's own Maloomaat page on 12 October 2026. The login screen itself runs as an application that we could not open for a read-through, so we describe the portal from FBR's page and say where our checking stopped.
Maloomaat shows the information FBR holds about you
FBR describes Maloomaat as a portal through which every citizen can enrol and access the information available about them with FBR. The data comes from third parties and from FBR's own records, including declarations and withholding data in its e-payment system.
"Withholding data" means tax that someone deducted from a payment to you, or that you paid when you bought or sold something. "Third party" means a body outside FBR, such as a vehicle registry, that reports your records to it.
FBR says the information is continuously updated and refreshed. So what you see today may differ from what you saw last month.

The seven headings FBR lists on the portal
FBR names seven tabs: withholding data, vehicles, properties, frequent travelling, debit transactions, credit transactions and educational expenses. It says more tabs will follow as it connects its data warehouse to other bodies that record major financial transactions.
| Tab FBR lists | What it likely covers, in plain words |
|---|---|
| Withholding data | Tax deducted or collected on your payments and purchases |
| Vehicles | Cars and bikes recorded against your CNIC |
| Properties | Plots, houses and other property recorded in your name |
| Frequent travelling | Trips recorded for you, such as abroad travel |
| Debit transactions | Money paid out through banking channels |
| Credit transactions | Money received through banking channels |
| Educational expenses | School or university fees paid |
The second column is our plain-language reading of the heading. FBR's page lists only the names of the tabs. It does not publish a definition of each.

How to reach your data, and where we could not check
Go to the Maloomaat link on FBR's own page and enrol using the process shown on the portal's home page. FBR says the enrolment is easy. We did not complete an enrolment, so we cannot list the exact fields or the sequence of screens.
- Open the FBR address for Maloomaat that is linked from the FBR website. Do not use a link from a message.
- Read the enrolment instructions on the portal home page.
- Enrol with the details the portal asks for, and use only your own.
- Open each tab and note what is listed.
- Save or write down anything you do not recognise.

If you already file returns, FBR says third party data about existing taxpayers appears in a menu inside their IRIS login. You can compare it there with your declarations. Our guide on how to check your income tax return in IRIS shows how to log in.
Compare what you see with your last return
Place the portal figures beside your last return. A car or plot that is not on your wealth statement, or deposits much larger than your declared income, are the lines to examine. FBR's own point is that it holds records of major financial transactions.
The new draft rule on electronic scrutiny, explained in our report on FBR's Rule 38B for electronic scrutiny, is built on this kind of cross-matching. It says a mismatch found by the system does not by itself lead to enforcement. It gives the taxpayer at least seven days to respond. Seeing the data first helps you answer well.
If you spot a gap, you can fix it by revising your income tax return, if the return period allows it. Do this before anyone writes to you.
What to do when the data is wrong
FBR's Maloomaat page does not describe a correction procedure for wrong entries. We therefore cannot promise that a particular route works. A sensible order is to note the entry, check your own papers, then ask FBR through its helpline or complaint system.
The FBR helpline is +92 51 111 772 772, Monday to Friday, 8:00 am to 11:30 pm. The email is helpline@fbr.gov.pk. FBR also has an online complaint system. If an officer acts on a wrong entry, see our guide to complaining to the Federal Tax Ombudsman.
Common questions
What is the Maloomaat portal?
It is an FBR portal where citizens can enrol and see the information FBR holds about them, from third party and FBR sources.
Do I have to be a taxpayer to use Maloomaat?
FBR says every citizen can enrol. It also says the data is shown for the information of unregistered potential taxpayers, so a non-filer can use it.
What information does Maloomaat show?
FBR lists withholding data, vehicles, properties, frequent travelling, debit transactions, credit transactions and educational expenses. More tabs are planned.
Does viewing my data trigger a notice?
FBR does not say so. The page describes the portal as a way for citizens to see their own information. We found no statement that a visit creates a notice.
Is Maloomaat the same as IRIS?
No. IRIS is FBR's main tax system for returns. Maloomaat has a separate login address. For existing taxpayers, FBR says third party data also appears in a menu inside IRIS.
Who should I contact if an entry is wrong?
Start with the FBR helpline on +92 51 111 772 772 or helpline@fbr.gov.pk. The Maloomaat page does not give a separate correction route.
How we verified this
What we checked, where we read it, and what we could not confirm.
We read FBR's Maloomaat web portal page and the FBR helpline page on 12 October 2026. We could not open the portal's login screen for a read-through, so the enrolment fields are not confirmed. Check the FBR site again before you enrol.
