Check a Faisalabad Housing Scheme on FDA's List: 196 Approved, 367 Illegal
FDA's list shows 196 approved, 230 under process and 367 illegal housing schemes in Faisalabad on 20 October 2026. Learn how to check a scheme and its chak.

To check a housing scheme in Faisalabad, open the Private Housing Schemes list on the Faisalabad Development Authority (FDA) website and search the scheme name with its chak number. On 20 October 2026 the list held 793 schemes: 196 approved, 230 under process and 367 illegal. Only the 196 approved schemes are safe to buy in, by FDA's own note.
Plot sellers in Faisalabad often say a scheme is "FDA approved" or "approval coming soon". Those are two very different things. We downloaded the full list from FDA's private housing schemes page on 20 October 2026 and counted every entry. The numbers below are our own counts from that list.
FDA lists 793 private schemes, and fewer than one in four is approved
FDA's list on 20 October 2026 had 196 approved schemes, 230 under process and 367 illegal, out of 793. That means 24.7 per cent are approved. FDA says to buy only in approved schemes, because illegal and under process schemes cannot get electricity, gas or water.
| Status on FDA list | Schemes | Share | What FDA says |
|---|---|---|---|
| Approved | 196 | 24.7% | Invest or buy only here |
| Under process | 230 | 29.0% | No electricity, gas or water connection |
| Illegal | 367 | 46.3% | No electricity, gas or water connection |
| Total | 793 | 100% |
The warning on utilities matters more than the label. "Under process" is not a lighter version of approved. On FDA's own page it sits in the same sentence as illegal. A plot in a scheme that is still under process may never get a FESCO meter, and you can check what a housing scheme needs for an electricity load before you rely on a developer's promise.

Search the scheme name and its chak number together
Every approved entry on FDA's list names a chak, the village revenue unit such as 204/RB or 121/JB. Illegal entries almost never do. Of 367 illegal entries, 366 give only "Faisalabad" as the location, so matching the chak is your best test.
That gap creates a real trap. A seller can show you an approved entry and sell you a plot in a different block with a similar name. Ask for the chak number in writing, then compare it with the approved line.
- Open fda.gov.pk and go to Schemes, then Private Housing Schemes.
- Type the scheme name in the search box. Try short spellings too, such as "Raheem" instead of "Al-Raheem".
- Read every line that appears, not just the first one. Phases and blocks are listed separately.
- Match the chak number on the approved line with the chak in your sale agreement.
- Click "View Map" on the approved line and check that your plot sits inside the approved layout.
- If the name is missing or shows illegal or under process, do not pay a token.
We counted 176 entries with a layout map attached, and 173 of them are approved schemes. So an approved scheme almost always has a map you can open. If an "approved" scheme has no map, ask FDA's Town Planning II office why.

The same scheme name can appear as approved, under process and illegal
Many Faisalabad schemes add a Phase II or an extension after the first phase is approved. FDA lists each phase on its own line. The first phase can be approved while the next is still under process, and an older block with the same name can be illegal.
| Name on FDA list | Approved line | Other line with the same name |
|---|---|---|
| The Meadows, 234/RB | Phase I and Phase II | Phase III under process |
| The Four Seasons, 234/RB | Phase I and Phase II | Phase III under process |
| Al-Raheem Valley, 215/RB | Main and Extension | Phase II under process; "Al Raheem valley" with no chak illegal |
| Zee Garden, 198/RB | Main scheme | Phase II under process |
| Gold City | None | 239/RB under process; 77/RB illegal |
Read the phase on your allotment letter, not the brochure. "Phase III" in small print is the whole difference between a plot that can get a gas line and one that cannot.

Approved schemes cluster in a few chaks along Canal Road and Satiana Road
Chak 204/RB has the most approved schemes on FDA's list, 22 of 196. Next come 234/RB with 10 and 215/RB with 9. Under process entries cluster in 208/RB, with 12. A chak with many approved schemes can still hold illegal ones nearby.
Several names in 204/RB carry "Canal", such as Canal Park and Canal Villas, both approved. But Canal Park VIP Block in the same chak is under process. And "Canal Views" with no chak is on the illegal list. Names near the canal sell well, so sellers reuse them.

Katchi abadis and FDA's own colonies sit on separate lists
FDA keeps two other lists. Its own schemes and markets list has 19 entries, all approved, from Allama Iqbal Colony to FDA City on Sargodha Road. Its katchi abadi list has 111 settlements, of which 84 are mutated and 27 are not.
Mutated means the land has been transferred in the revenue record so dwellers can later get ownership. FDA's katchi abadi page says 25,734 units sit in the 84 mutated settlements, and proprietary rights have been granted to 7,513 dwellers. That is about 29 per cent, by our arithmetic. If you are buying a house in a katchi abadi, check whether it is on the mutated list, and ask whether the seller holds a proprietary rights document.
Buying in one of FDA's own colonies is a different process again, with an ownership clearance certificate and an FDA transfer. In Lahore and Rawalpindi the same check runs on the LDA approved and illegal scheme lists and the RDA lists for Rawalpindi.
Report an illegal scheme or a false approval claim to FDA
FDA's Town Planning II directorate approves private schemes and acts against illegal ones in the controlled area. Call FDA on 041-9200088 or 041-9200089, or visit the FDA Complex on Mall Road, opposite the DHQ Hospital in Faisalabad.
Take the advertisement, the seller's name, and the chak number. If you have already paid, keep every receipt and the sale agreement. A complaint against the developer or dealer can go to the development authority and to the courts, and the general steps are in complaining about a builder to a development authority. Before any money moves, the checks before buying a plot still apply in Faisalabad.
Common questions
How many housing schemes are approved by FDA?
FDA's list showed 196 approved private housing schemes on 20 October 2026, out of 793 listed. Another 230 were under process and 367 were illegal.
Is an "under process" scheme safe to buy in?
No. FDA's own page groups under process with illegal schemes and says electricity, gas and water cannot be provided there. Wait until the scheme shows as approved.
Why does my scheme show as both approved and under process?
FDA lists each phase and block on its own line. The first phase may be approved while a later phase is still under process. Match the phase and chak on your allotment letter.
Where is the FDA approved housing schemes list?
It is on fda.gov.pk under Schemes, then Private Housing Schemes. The list is free and needs no login. It also shows a layout map for most approved schemes.
Does FDA list katchi abadis too?
Yes. FDA lists 111 katchi abadis in Faisalabad, 84 mutated and 27 not mutated, on a separate Kachi Abadis page under Schemes.
Who do I call about an illegal scheme in Faisalabad?
Call FDA on 041-9200088 or 041-9200089 and ask for Town Planning II, the directorate that handles private housing schemes.
How we verified this
What we checked, where we read it, and what we could not confirm.
We read FDA's private housing schemes page and downloaded its full data table on 20 October 2026, then counted statuses, chak numbers and maps ourselves. We also read FDA's own schemes list, its katchi abadi list and the FDA Kachi Abadi directorate page the same day. All counts and percentages are our arithmetic from those lists. We could not verify when FDA last updated each entry, because the list shows no date, and a status may change after we read it. Check the live list on the day you pay.
