How to Check a Medicine's Official Price on DRAP's PharmaPrice Index in Pakistan
Look up a medicine's listed price on DRAP's PharmaPrice Index in Pakistan: search steps, the seven fields, pack and date checks, and who to call if overcharged.

To check a medicine's official price in Pakistan, open DRAP's PharmaPrice Index at e.dra.gov.pk/public/price, type the brand name in the search box, and compare the Price column against your pharmacy bill for the same pack size. The page is free, needs no login and lists the registration number, manufacturer, pack size, price and the date the price took effect.
A pharmacy bill is easy to accept and hard to question. A strip of tablets, a syrup, an injection: each has a price, and few of us know whether it is the right one. DRAP, the Drug Regulatory Authority of Pakistan, publishes a searchable list so you can look before you pay. We opened the PharmaPrice Index on 22 October 2026 and read how it works. This is not medical advice.
The PharmaPrice Index is DRAP's public price search
The page describes itself as a place to browse and search current pharmaceutical product pricing. It is public, so anyone can use it on a phone or computer. DRAP links it from its home page as the Drug Pricing Index.
It sits next to the Registered Drugs Index, which answers a different question: is this medicine registered at all? Our page on checking whether a medicine is registered with DRAP covers that tool. Use both, registration first and price second.

Search by product name, then narrow by category or manufacturer
Type the product name in the search box. You can then filter by category, which offers All Categories, Essential Drugs and Low Price Drugs. A long dropdown lets you filter by the manufacturer or registration holder. Results run over many pages, about 1,084 when we looked.
- Open e.dra.gov.pk/public/price in your browser.
- Type the brand name exactly as printed on the pack.
- If many rows appear, choose the manufacturer from the dropdown.
- Find the row with your pack size, for example a strip of ten or a 60 ml bottle.
- Read the Price and the Effective From date.
- Compare it with the price on your pharmacy receipt and on the pack.

Each row shows seven fields
The results table gives the product name with its generic ingredient, the registration number, the manufacturer, the category, the pack size, the price in rupees and the Effective From date. The category column can carry a DSL or DML licence reference.
| Field | What it tells you |
|---|---|
| Product name | The brand, with the generic ingredient described beneath |
| Reg. Number | The product's DRAP registration number |
| Manufacturer | The company holding the registration |
| Category | For example Essential Drugs, with a licence reference |
| Pack size | What the price covers, such as one strip or one vial |
| Price (Rs) | The listed price for that pack |
| Effective From | The date that price began |
The page we read does not say whether the listed figure is a maximum retail price, so we do not call it one. Read the pack and the bill beside it.
Compare only the same pack size and check the date
One vial and a pack of ten have very different totals. If your pack size is not in the list, you cannot compare. Also read the Effective From column. Most entries we saw carry 2026 dates, but some show 2024, so an old row may not be today's price.
Some manufacturer names appear more than once with different licence numbers, and some licence brackets are empty. When that happens, match the registration number on your pack to the registration number in the row. Price changes are real: DRAP's recent decisions are explained in our pages on the 2026 medicine price increase and on the 52 life saving medicines price approval.
If the price on your bill is higher, ask first and then complain
Show the pharmacist the listed price and the pack size. Many differences come from a different pack or an old stock label. If the answer does not satisfy you, DRAP's toll free line is 0800-03727, open Monday to Friday from 8 am to 4 pm. Keep the receipt and a photo of the pack.
For a doubtful licence, the steps in checking a pharmacy's drug licence in Punjab help. Do not stop a medicine your doctor prescribed because of price. Ask the doctor about a cheaper brand of the same ingredient.
Common questions
Where do I check the official price of a medicine in Pakistan?
Use DRAP's PharmaPrice Index at e.dra.gov.pk/public/price. Search by the brand name.
Is the PharmaPrice Index free?
Yes. The page is public and we did not need an account to open it.
What are the Essential Drugs and Low Price Drugs filters?
They are two category options in the search. The page does not define them, so check DRAP if you need the exact meaning.
Why does my pharmacy charge a different price?
The pack size may differ, or the row may carry an older date. Compare registration number, pack size and the Effective From date.
Can I check a medicine's registration here?
The index shows a registration number for each product. To confirm registration, use DRAP's Registered Drugs Index too.
Who do I call about overcharging?
Start with the pharmacy, then DRAP on 0800-03727.
How we verified this
What we checked, where we read it, and what we could not confirm.
Last checked 22 October 2026. We opened DRAP's PharmaPrice Index at e.dra.gov.pk/public/price and its home page at dra.gov.pk, and read the search box, filters, columns, page count and contact line. We did not look up any individual medicine price, so we state none. The page does not say whether prices are maximum retail prices or define its category filters. DRAP can change the tool at any time.
