Check Pakistan's FIFA World Ranking: 198th Officially, Next Update on 18 November
Pakistan are 198th in the official FIFA men's ranking and 197th in FIFA's live table on 839.03 points. See the history and when the next update comes.

Short answer: Pakistan are 198th in FIFA's official men's world ranking, set at the last update on 20 July 2026. FIFA's live table shows Pakistan 197th on 839.03 points after the ASEAN Cup. The next official update is on 18 November 2026.
The two numbers confuse people. One is the official rank, which changes only on update days. The other is a live table that moves after every match window. Pakistan's official rank has not changed since July, even though the team played three FIFA matches in the past three weeks.
We opened FIFA's own Pakistan ranking page on 12 October 2026 and read the official figures, the live table and the history. Each number below comes from there.
Pakistan are 198th in FIFA's official ranking dated 20 July 2026
FIFA's Pakistan page shows a current rank of 198th, with the last official update on 20 July 2026. The ranking only changes on update days, so this is the number to quote as Pakistan's official FIFA rank until 18 November.
The page also lists the best and worst Pakistan have reached. The highest rank is 141st. The lowest is 205th. The average across the years FIFA shows is 177th. Pakistan's biggest climb in one update was 21 places, and the biggest fall was 14.
| Year | Final rank | Best rank | Worst rank |
|---|---|---|---|
| 2026 so far | 198 | 198 | 202 |
| 2025 | 199 | 198 | 201 |
| 2024 | 198 | 195 | 198 |
| 2023 | 195 | 193 | 201 |
| 2022 | 195 | 194 | 197 |

Pakistan have been in the 190s and low 200s for years. The table makes plain how flat the line is.
FIFA's live table shows Pakistan 197th on 839.03 points
The page also carries a table headed "Current Men's ranking, match window closed". It places Pakistan 197th with 839.03 points, one place above the official rank. Brunei are 196th on 849.56 and Cayman Islands 198th on 836.15.
That table includes Pakistan's last result, the 4-2 defeat by Vietnam. It is a preview of what the next official list may look like. It is not the official rank, and FIFA can still change it before 18 November.
| Live position | Team | Points |
|---|---|---|
| 195 | Djibouti | 853.58 |
| 196 | Brunei | 849.56 |
| 197 | Pakistan | 839.03 |
| 198 | Cayman Islands | 836.15 |
| 199 | Tonga | 835.64 |

Pakistan lead the Cayman Islands by 2.88 points and Tonga by 3.39. They trail Brunei by 10.53. So the live table is tight, and a single result for any of these teams could shuffle the order.
Three ASEAN Cup matches sit behind the new points
Pakistan played three FIFA ASEAN Cup matches in Indonesia between 26 September and 2 October. They lost 4-0 to Thailand, drew 2-2 with the Philippines and lost 4-2 to Vietnam. The live ranking is built on those results.
FIFA's rating method gives more or fewer points depending on the opponent's strength and the importance of the match. We have not tried to reverse engineer the maths, because FIFA's page does not give the points per match. Our earlier match reports cover each game, including the 0-4 loss to Thailand in the ASEAN Cup debut and the Philippines match preview.
The draw with the Philippines was the best of the three results. It was also the only one of the three in which Pakistan conceded fewer than three goals. The tournament schedule is in our guide to Pakistan in the FIFA ASEAN Cup.
The next official FIFA update is 18 November, 37 days away
FIFA's page lists the next official update as 18 November 2026. It says rankings are not updated outside official windows until the end of the next ranking window. Check the date on the page itself, because FIFA can change its release calendar.
Pakistan's next matches are the SAFF Championship in Dhaka. They play India on 5 November and the Maldives on 8 November, as our report on the SAFF Championship 2026 schedule for Pakistan explains. Both fall before the 18 November date. The FIFA page does not say which matches will be included in that update, so we do not promise it.
Until then, the official rank stays at 198th. If the live table holds, Pakistan could move up one place. That is a forecast from FIFA's own provisional table, not a guarantee.
How to check Pakistan's FIFA ranking yourself
FIFA's website has one page per country. It shows the official rank, the date of the last update, the next update date and the history. The steps take a minute, and they work for any team, not only Pakistan.
- Open inside.fifa.com and choose Rankings, then Men's.
- Search for Pakistan, or open the country page directly.
- Read the "Last official update" and "Next official update" dates.
- Compare the official rank with the live table headed "Current Men's ranking".

For women's football, choose Women's at the same place. We read only the men's pages for this report.
If you see a different rank on a social media post, check the date. A rank from June or July is not the same as a rank from the 20 July list.
