Short answer: The PCB Talent Hunt Programme for Schools, season two, is already under way. It has 1,200 schools in 100 districts. District matches began on 15 September, provincial knockouts follow in the first two weeks of November, and the national stage runs from 20 November to 5 December. You can check your school's results on the PCB match centre.

Schools could not enter after July. The PCB picked its 1,200 teams from more than 3,300 that signed up, so a parent or coach who is asking "how do I register" is too late for this season. What you can do now is follow your school's matches and see how a player moves up from a school team.

We read the PCB's launch release on pcb.com.pk, the programme's tournament pages on the PCB match centre, and the PCB men's domestic series page. We opened the match centre on the evening of 11 October 2026 and read the Rawalpindi tables and the match list.

Season two has 1,200 schools in 100 districts

The PCB said in its 20 July 2026 release that the programme grew from 450 schools to 1,200 schools, and from 39 districts to 100. It said over 3,300 schools signed up. The PCB said deserving teams receive equipment and funds, and every team gets a coach.

The match centre and the PCB series page give different dates

The PCB's launch release says the programme runs from 15 September to 5 December. The match centre page for the tournament lists a start date of 15 September and an end date of 30 November. The PCB men's domestic series page says 19 September to December.

These three pages disagree on the start and the end, so we give each one. The release is the official statement of the plan, and the match centre dates look like a scheduling window, so use the release's 20 November to 5 December for the national stage and treat the other dates as approximate.

Check your school's result on the match centre

Every school match is scored on the PCB match centre, in a tournament called PCB Talent Hunt School Programme 2026-27. The matches are listed by district, then by pool. District pages show a points table, a match list and a leaderboard.

  1. Open matchcentre.pcb.com.pk and choose Competitions.
  2. Open PCB Talent Hunt School Programme 2026-27.
  3. Open the Point Table tab. The page we opened was the Rawalpindi district, with pools of three teams.
  4. For other districts, open Matches at the top of the site, choose Recent, and look for your district and pool in the match title, such as Hyderabad - POOL F.

If your district does not show up, its matches may not have started yet. We could not tell from the match centre which districts have begun, and we found no single fixtures list for all 100.

Five steps to check a school result in the PCB Talent Hunt School Programme on the PCB match centre

The matches are 40 overs a side and played in pools of three

The match centre lists school matches as T40, which is 40 overs a side. In Rawalpindi, the district we opened, teams are grouped in pools of three, and the page says 13 rounds. A win earns 2 points and a no-result earns 1 point in the tables we read.

Pool A in Rawalpindi had Allied School Sohan Campus on 4 points from two wins. GHSS Muslim No. 1 Saidpur Road led Pool C, also with two wins. The match centre prints net run rate beside the points.

Match on 11 OctoberResult
Karachi Grammar School 256 for 9 v Haque Academy 107Karachi Grammar School won by 149 runs
Govt. Ghulam Hussain Hidayatullah Higher Secondary School 351 for 4 v The City School 80Won by 271 runs
Britain International School System 205 v Zakaria Public School 122Britain International won by 83 runs
GBHS Darya Khan Talpur 52 v GBHS Bhit Shah 58 for 1Bhit Shah won by 9 wickets

These T40 school matches were on the match centre's recent list on 11 October, named by district and pool. They appear to belong to this programme, but the list does not label the programme, so treat that as our reading. They show how mixed the field is: government and private schools meet, and margins of more than 140 runs are common.

What a good school performance leads to

The PCB said the aim is to find talent early and move good players into domestic cricket. Its senior manager said the board plans year-long regional academies for all age groups in 16 regions and will invite top school performers to the Under-17 and Under-19 academies.

We have not seen a published selection rule, so we cannot say how many players are picked or when. The trials calendar for the age groups is in our guide to the PCB U15, U17 and U19 trials dates and venues. A player outside the programme can look at the cricket academies in Punjab, and the age-group results are in the National U19 Cup versus Championship explainer.

Take care with the figures you hear

Some sites and social posts give other numbers for the schools, such as 1,400 schools and 21,000 players. The PCB's own release says 1,200. We use the PCB figure because it is the board's own statement, and we have not found a newer PCB release that changes it.

Be careful with any message that asks for a fee to "register" a school or a player. The PCB release does not mention an entry fee for this season, and registration closed in July.

Common questions

Can my school still join the PCB Talent Hunt School Programme 2026-27?

No, not this season. The PCB chose its 1,200 teams from the sign-ups, and trials and checks were due to finish by 10 August. The matches started in September.

How many schools are in season two?

The PCB's 20 July release says 1,200 schools in 100 districts. That is up from 450 schools in 39 districts in season one.

When is the national final?

The PCB said the national stage, including the grand final, runs from 20 November to 5 December 2026. The match centre lists 30 November as the end date, so the exact day may differ.

How long is a school match?

The match centre lists the matches as T40, which means 40 overs a side. Some pools are of three teams, so each team plays only two group matches.

Where do I find my school's scorecard?

Open the tournament on the PCB match centre, pick your district, then open the Matches tab. Choose Recent to see scores.

What do winners get?

The PCB said deserving teams get equipment and funds and every team gets a coach. It has not published the prize for the national final, so we do not state one.

How we verified this

What we checked, where we read it, and what we could not confirm.

We read the PCB press release "Season two of PCB Talent Hunt Programme for Schools launched" dated 20 July 2026, the PCB men's domestic series page, and the PCB Talent Hunt School Programme 2026-27 pages on the PCB match centre, on 11 October 2026. Match centre data changes as scorers upload it.
