How to Check Which PSX Shares Hit the Upper or Lower Limit Today in Pakistan
See which Pakistan Stock Exchange shares are stuck at the upper or lower cap today. We read the PSX Circuit Breakers page on 22 October 2026. Learn to use it.

Short answer: Open dps.psx.com.pk, find Circuit Breakers under the Companies menu and read two lists: shares at the upper cap and shares at the lower cap. Each row shows the previous close, open, high, low, current price, change and volume. A change of about 10 per cent means the share is stuck at its limit.
Your sell order sits unfilled and the screen shows no price movement. Before you blame your broker's app, look at this list. On 22 October 2026 we opened it and found 12 shares at the upper cap and 4 at the lower cap. This is how to read it, and what it can and cannot tell you.
The Circuit Breakers page lists shares stuck at their daily limit
The Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) data portal has a page called Circuit Breakers. It has two tabs, Upper Cap and Lower Cap. A share appears when its price has reached the highest or lowest price allowed for that day. It is free and needs no login.
Both tabs use the same columns: SYMBOL, LDCP, OPEN, HIGH, LOW, CURRENT, CHANGE, CHANGE (%) and VOLUME. LDCP is the last day closing price, the price the daily limit is measured from. A share may drop off the list if its price moves back from the limit.

Twelve shares were at the upper cap and four at the lower cap on 22 October
On 22 October 2026 the portal listed 12 shares at the upper cap, each up between 9.99 and 10.03 per cent. Four shares were at the lower cap, each down between 9.99 and 10.01 per cent. That is a snapshot from our visit, and the list changes through the day.
| Share | LDCP | Current | Change | Volume |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| DNCC (upper) | 21.69 | 23.86 | +10.01% | 4,180,751 |
| CLVL (upper) | 24.53 | 26.98 | +9.99% | 2,672,797 |
| KPUS (upper) | 1,571.06 | 1,728.17 | +10.00% | 14,587 |
| MACFL (lower) | 73.14 | 65.83 | -9.99% | 16,065,120 |
| FIL (lower) | 452.34 | 407.11 | -10.00% | 11,967 |
| GRYL (lower) | 36.47 | 32.82 | -10.01% | 397,460 |
The volume column matters. MACFL traded 16 million shares at its lower cap, so sellers found buyers all day. FIL traded only 11,967 shares. A thin volume at the limit tells you few trades went through, which is what a stuck order feels like.
The open, high and low columns show how the day went
The price path is in the OPEN, HIGH and LOW columns. A share that opens at its cap and never moves is a different story from one that swings to the cap by afternoon. Read the three numbers together with the current price before you decide anything.
FIL is the clearest example from 22 October. Its previous close was Rs 452.34 and it opened at Rs 488.99, about 8.1 per cent higher. It then fell to Rs 407.11, which is 10 per cent below the previous close, and was still there. CFL opened at its low of Rs 67.59 and stayed there, so it was at the lower cap from the first trade. NCL traded in a range of only Rs 0.03 between Rs 41.83 and Rs 41.86, so its upper cap held almost from the start.

The portal shows the limit but not the reason
The page does not say why a share hit its cap. It does not show the cap rule for each share either. The older explainer on circuit breakers and trading halts records reported limits of about 5 per cent, but the shares on the portal's list on 22 October all sat at about 10 per cent. Treat the live list as the answer for today.
Why a share moved needs a second look. Check the PSX company announcements page for the symbol, and read what the company has told the exchange. If there is no notice, the portal gives you no reason, and you should not guess one. For the index-wide picture, the KSE-100 movers guide shows how to see which shares move the main index.
How to use the list before you place an order
Check the list before you buy or sell a small share. If your share is at the upper cap, a buy order may not fill because sellers are scarce. If it is at the lower cap, a sell order may not fill because buyers are scarce. The list tells you to wait or to place a limit order, not to chase.

- Open dps.psx.com.pk and find Circuit Breakers under the Companies menu.
- Choose Upper Cap or Lower Cap and look for your share's symbol.
- Compare CURRENT with LDCP. A change near 10 per cent means the limit has been reached.
- Read VOLUME to see whether any trades went through at the limit.
- Open the company announcements page for the symbol to look for a notice.
- Check again after the next session, since the list changes each day.
Remember that a share on the upper cap list can fall back tomorrow. The cap limits one day's move, not the share's value. If you are new to the exchange, the steps to open a PSX Sahulat account with your CNIC come before any of this.
Common questions about PSX circuit breaker lists
Where is the circuit breaker list on the PSX portal?
It is the Circuit Breakers page under the Companies menu of dps.psx.com.pk, with an Upper Cap tab and a Lower Cap tab.
What does LDCP mean?
LDCP is the last day closing price. The portal measures the day's change from it.
What does it mean when a share is at the upper cap?
Its price has risen to the highest level allowed for the day. It cannot rise further until the next session.
Can I still sell a share at the lower cap?
You can place an order, but it fills only if a buyer is willing to pay that price. A low volume on the list means few orders filled.
Is the cap always 10 per cent?
Not necessarily. The shares on the list on 22 October sat at about 10 per cent, but we did not find a rule text for each share, so check the live list.
Does the list show why a share moved?
No. The page shows prices and volume only. Look for the company's announcement for the symbol.
How we verified this
What we checked, where we read it, and what we could not confirm.
Last checked 22 October 2026. The Upper Cap and Lower Cap lists, their columns and every price and volume above come from the Circuit Breakers page of the PSX data portal, which we opened on 22 October 2026 after the close. The counts of 12 and 4 are ours, from that page. The 8.1 per cent opening gain for FIL is our arithmetic from its open and LDCP. We could not find PSX's written rule for each share's limit, so we do not state one. This is not investment advice.
