China Guangdong Hockey Tour of Pakistan 2026 Results: Rangers Win 3-1 in Narowal, Pakistan U21 Next in Gojra
Pakistan Rangers beat China's Guangdong 3-1 in Narowal on 26 October 2026, the fourth Pakistani win in five tour games. See every result and the last 2 matches.
Pakistan Rangers beat China's Guangdong 3-1 in Narowal on Monday 26 October 2026, the fifth match of Guangdong's hockey tour of Pakistan. Pakistani sides have now won four of the five games. Guangdong's only win came against Army, in a penalty shootout.
Two matches are left: Pakistan U21 in Gojra on Wednesday 28 October and Police in Lahore on Thursday 29 October. The tour schedule changed from the one first announced in August, so below are the actual results, the remaining fixtures and what moved. The figures are as reported in published match reports citing the Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF), which we read on 27 October 2026.
Pakistan Rangers beat Guangdong 3-1 in Narowal
Pakistan Rangers won 3-1 at the Sports City Hockey Stadium in Narowal. Muhammad Sami scored from a short corner in the 37th minute, Aamir Sohail scored a field goal in the 45th, and Muhammad Hammad added another field goal in the 55th. Fong Xiang Xuan scored Guangdong's goal from a penalty corner in the 40th minute.
Reports describe a large crowd, with Federal Planning Minister Ahsan Iqbal and PHF President Mohyuddin Ahmed Wani watching as guests. A full stadium for a tour match is a good sign for hockey outside the big cities.
One detail does not add up. The same report says the teams were level 1-1 at half-time, but every goal it lists came after the 30th minute. We have left the half-time score out and kept the goals and the final result, which agree with each other.
Pakistani sides won four of Guangdong's first five matches
Mari Energies beat Guangdong 5-2, Navy won 3-1, Customs won 3-2 and Rangers won 3-1. Guangdong's only success was against Army, whom they beat 4-2 in a shootout. That is 14 goals for the Pakistani sides in the four wins, by our count.
| Match | Date | Venue | Result |
|---|---|---|---|
| Mari Energies v Guangdong | Tuesday 20 October | Rawalpindi, as listed | Mari Energies won 5-2 |
| Army v Guangdong | Wednesday 21 October | Islamabad | Guangdong won 4-2 on penalties |
| Navy v Guangdong | Friday 23 October | Naseer Bunda Hockey Stadium, Islamabad | Navy won 3-1 |
| Customs v Guangdong | Sunday 25 October | Lahore | Customs won 3-2 |
| Rangers v Guangdong | Monday 26 October | Narowal | Rangers won 3-1 |
The dates come from the PHF schedule as reported on 19 October, when the team arrived. The results come from the report of 26 October. The score in normal time of the Army match was not reported.
Pakistan U21 play Guangdong in Gojra on 28 October
The tour has two games left. Pakistan U21 play Guangdong in Gojra on Wednesday 28 October, and Police play them in Lahore on Thursday 29 October. Guangdong fly home on Friday 30 October, according to the PHF schedule as reported.
- Wednesday 28 October: Pakistan U21 v Guangdong, Gojra.
- Thursday 29 October: Police v Guangdong, Lahore.
- Friday 30 October: Guangdong leave Pakistan.
The U21 game is the one to watch. Pakistan's under-21 side won silver at the Sultan of Johor Cup in Malaysia earlier this month, as our report on the U21 silver at the Sultan of Johor Cup sets out. No start time, ticket rule or stream has been announced for either match.
The tour changed from the August schedule
The PHF's August announcement had Guangdong playing from 14 October, with Pak DS listed for six of ten matches. The tour that actually happened started on 20 October with five different opponents: Mari Energies, Army, Navy, Customs and Rangers. Narowal hosted the 26 October game instead of Gojra.
| What | August announcement | As played or now scheduled |
|---|---|---|
| First match | 14 October, Rawalpindi | 20 October, Rawalpindi |
| 26 October | Gojra | Narowal, against Rangers |
| 28 October | No match listed | Pakistan U21, Gojra |
| 29 October | To be confirmed | Police, Lahore |
| Departure | 30 October | 30 October |
Our earlier page on the Guangdong tour dates carried the August schedule and warned that dates could move. They did. Check with the PHF before you travel to any ground.
Why these tour matches matter for Pakistan hockey
These are club and department matches, not full internationals, so they do not count for world rankings. Pakistan's men are 12th on the FIH list, as our page on Pakistan's FIH world ranking shows. What the tour gives is match practice against foreign opposition before bigger events.
The next of those is the SCO hockey tournament planned for Islamabad from 20 November to 2 December. Our report on the SCO hockey tournament in Islamabad has what is known so far.

How we verified this
What we checked, where we read it, and what we could not confirm.
We read a published report of the Narowal match dated 26 October 2026 and a report of the team's arrival dated 19 October, both citing the PHF, on 27 October 2026. The PHF's website (phf.com.pk) did not respond to our colleagues earlier this month, so every result and date is reported. The day names for 20 to 25 October are worked out from the arrival report's "Tuesday (tomorrow)" and its listed dates. The International Hockey Federation's FIH site holds the world rankings. We could not confirm the normal-time score of the Army match, match times for 28 and 29 October, or the half-time score in Narowal.
