CM Punjab Laptop Scheme Distribution: 5,531 Laptops Given in Mandi Bahauddin and Gujrat, E-Bikes Due in Early November
Maryam Nawaz gave laptops to 5,531 students of Mandi Bahauddin and Gujrat on 27 October 2026 and said student e-bikes come early November. Check your status.

Short answer: Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz handed out laptops to 5,531 students from Mandi Bahauddin and Gujrat under the CM Punjab Laptop Scheme on Tuesday 27 October 2026, at the University of Rasool in Mandi Bahauddin. She also said electric bikes will be given to students early next month, in November 2026.
If you applied for a laptop or an e-bike, this tells you two things. Laptop handovers are moving district by district through ceremonies. And e-bike handovers are still on the November timeline the chief minister gave on 1 October. Below is what was announced, what is still unknown, and how to check your own status safely.
5,531 students from Mandi Bahauddin and Gujrat got laptops
The ceremony on 27 October covered both Honhaar Scholarships and laptops. Radio Pakistan reported that 5,531 students from Mandi Bahauddin and Gujrat received laptops under the Chief Minister Laptop Scheme. It did not give a split between the two districts or the number of scholarships handed out.

The report did not say which phase the laptops came from. Phase II drew 163,326 applications by the portal's own count on 10 October, and the merit list had not been posted then. So treat this ceremony as a handover to students already selected, not as a new list for everyone.
| Announced on 27 October 2026 | Detail |
|---|---|
| Laptops handed out | 5,531 students, Mandi Bahauddin and Gujrat |
| Venue | University of Rasool, Mandi Bahauddin |
| Also handed out | Honhaar Scholarships, number not given |
| Electric bikes for students | To be distributed early next month |
| Other announcement | A teaching hospital for Mandi Bahauddin |
Laptop handovers are going district by district
Laptops are being given at ceremonies held for a few districts at a time. Mandi Bahauddin and Gujrat were covered on 27 October. Ceremonies elsewhere in Punjab were reported to start from mid-October, but the government has not published a full schedule by district or date.
That means you cannot work out your own date from the news. Your status and any merit list appear in your account on the official laptop portal and by email, according to the portal's own help text. How to check it, and what each status means, is set out in checking your CM Punjab Laptop Phase II status.
- Sign in on the official CM laptop portal with the email you applied with.
- Read your application status, not the news headlines.
- Check your email, including the spam folder, for a selection message.
- Ask your university's focal person for the ceremony date for your district.
- Take your student card and CNIC or B-Form to the handover.
Step 5 is a sensible precaution, not an official list. Your university will tell you what to bring.
Electric bikes for students are due in early November
The chief minister said electric bikes will be distributed among students early next month. That repeats what she posted on 1 October 2026, when the CM Punjab E-Bike Scheme for Students had 1,149,058 registrations and she wrote that distribution would start in early November.

The scheme's own portal listed 100,000 e-bikes for Phase 2, with a Rs 90,000 subsidy from the Punjab government, no interest and no down payment. Applications closed on 4 October 2026. With about 1.15 million registrations for 100,000 bikes, fewer than one registrant in eleven can get one. That is our arithmetic.
| CM Punjab E-Bike Scheme, Phase 2 | Figure |
|---|---|
| E-bikes on offer | 100,000 |
| Registrations by 1 October 2026 | 1,149,058 |
| Applications closed | 4 October 2026 |
| Government subsidy per bike | Rs 90,000 |
| Distribution | Early November 2026, as announced |
No list of selected students has been published yet. How the scheme works, and who qualified, is in the CM Punjab E-Bike Scheme for students, and the closing figures are in our 2 October report.
Fake laptop and e-bike messages rise around handovers
Every ceremony brings a new wave of WhatsApp links claiming "laptop registration open" or "e-bike result out, pay to confirm". Neither scheme charges a fee to apply or to be selected. Laptop selection is shown only on the official portal and in your account email.

If a message asks for your CNIC, a code sent to your phone or a payment, delete it. Some of these links are used to take over WhatsApp accounts, as described in the fake CM Punjab laptop scheme warning. Real updates come from the government's own portals and from your university.
Honhaar Scholarship applicants still have until 9 November
Honhaar Scholarships were also handed out at the ceremony, but that was for students already selected. For the 2026 round, registration was reported open with a last date of 9 November 2026.
If you are applying this round, do not confuse the two. A ceremony near you does not mean the new round has closed. Details are in the Honhaar Scholarship 2026 round.

How we verified this
What we checked, where we read it, and what we could not confirm.
We read Radio Pakistan's report of the 27 October ceremony on 28 October 2026; it gives the 5,531 laptops, the venue, the e-bike timing and the hospital announcement. The Radio Pakistan national news page listed it the same day. The laptop portal, the e-bike portal and the Punjab government's press site did not open for us on 28 October. The Phase II application count, portal help text, e-bike figures and the chief minister's 1 October post come from our earlier reports, which read those sources in October. We could not verify the phase of the laptops, the district split, the scholarship numbers or any e-bike date.
