Short answer: FPSC's CSS CE-2026 medical notice asks for two treasury challans, Rs 100 and Rs 2,000, which is Rs 2,100 in total. Bring your original CNIC, an attested copy, two attested photographs and nine items of lab reports. The notice lists 477 qualified candidates across five centres. There is no travel allowance.

A medical exam is the stage where a written pass can still go wrong. A missing report or one unpaid challan sends you back to the queue. The Federal Public Service Commission (FPSC) put everything you need on one page of notice.

We downloaded the FPSC "Schedule for Medical Examination of Written Qualified Candidates of CSS CE-2026" and both challan forms on 11 October 2026 and read them in full. Here is what the notice says, in the order you will need it.

The medical notice lists 477 candidates at five centres

FPSC's schedule is titled Phase 1 and names five centres: Lahore, Rawalpindi, Peshawar, Quetta and Karachi. Adding the centre totals printed on the notice gives 477 candidates. Each candidate is assigned by roll number to one date at one centre.

As of 11 October only the Karachi date is still ahead. The notice shows 9:00 am against Lahore, Peshawar and Karachi. Check the PDF for the time at the other two centres.

Two challans cost Rs 2,100 and go to the medical board

The notice asks for two payments into the government treasury or State Bank: Rs 100 under the health fee head and Rs 2,000 under the NHSR&C head. You hand both original treasury challans to the medical board on the day. FPSC attaches a form for each.

The Rs 2,000 form carries four copies: bank, treasury, candidate and FPSC. Fill in your name and CNIC before you go to the bank, and keep the copy marked for the candidate. Rs 2,100 is our total of the two figures. The notice does not print a combined amount.

Nine lab items and three identity documents are required

Bring your original CNIC, one attested photocopy and two recent passport size photographs with the back attested. Then bring computerized reports for a chest X-ray, an ECG and seven blood and urine tests plus the 12 hour lipid profile. Pregnant candidates do an ultrasound of the pelvis instead of the X-ray.

  1. Chest X-ray with report and ECG with report (pregnant candidates: pelvic ultrasound with report instead of the X-ray).
  2. Complete Blood Count (CBC).
  3. Blood ESR.
  4. Fasting Blood Sugar (FBS).
  5. Hepatitis B antigen (HBsAg).
  6. Hepatitis C antibodies (HCV).
  7. Liver Function Test (LFTs).
  8. Urine Detail Report (Urine DR).
  9. Serum lipid profile after 12 hours of fasting.

Ask the lab to print each test name clearly on the report, so the board can match it to this list. The X-ray and the ECG share the first item on the notice, but they are two separate reports.

Glasses, fasting and travel costs have their own rules

Candidates who wear glasses must be examined by a government eye specialist and bring a fresh prescription together with the glasses. The lipid profile needs 12 hours of fasting. The notice says no TA or DA, meaning travel or daily allowance, is permitted for attending the medical board.

The notice also advises candidates to wear underwear to make the examination easier. We mention it because it is printed there, and candidates ask what it means. It is a practical hint, not a dress code.

Check your roll number and your eligibility before you pay

Find your roll number in the centre list first. Then check your result status. FPSC's separate notice of 18 September says candidates whose written result was withheld must still establish eligibility before they can proceed to the medical examination. That is explained in the withheld result notice. We also cross-checked the two lists against this schedule, and none of the 505 withheld roll numbers is in it.

  1. Open the FPSC website and go to the web notices on the news list.
  2. Open the CSS CE-2026 medical schedule and find your roll number.
  3. Note your centre, date and time, then download both challan forms.
  4. Pay the two challans at the National Bank of Pakistan or the State Bank, as the form states.
  5. Take your lab reports, documents and both original challans to the medical board.

The FPSC channels that candidates should trust are listed in the guide to how FPSC contacts candidates. For the written marks and merit position, use the FPSC result check.

Missed date or wrong centre: what the notice does not say

The notice gives no process for a missed date, a wrong centre or a sick candidate. We found no separate FPSC page on it. Call the medical centre number printed on the notice for your centre, and keep a written record of what you were told.

Common questions

How much is the CSS medical examination fee?

The notice asks for two challans, Rs 100 and Rs 2,000, so Rs 2,100 in all. Each is deposited in the government treasury or State Bank, and both original challans go to the medical board.

Which tests are needed for the CSS medical?

The notice lists a chest X-ray, an ECG, CBC, ESR, fasting blood sugar, hepatitis B antigen, hepatitis C antibodies, liver function test, urine detail report and a serum lipid profile after 12 hours of fasting. Reports must come with the results.

Do I get travel allowance for the CSS medical?

No. The notice states that no TA or DA is permissible for attending the medical examination under the rules.

Where is the CSS medical exam held in Karachi?

The notice names Border Health Services Pakistan Headquarters, Block 47, Pakistan Secretariat, Saddar, Karachi, with phone 021-9920152. The date for Karachi on the notice is 13 October 2026.

What do pregnant candidates bring instead of a chest X-ray?

They bring an ultrasound of the pelvis with a report. The ECG and the other tests on the list are still required.

Is Phase 1 the only medical phase?

The schedule file is named Phase 1. We found no later phase on the FPSC news list on 11 October 2026, so we cannot say whether another one is planned.

How we verified this

What we checked, where we read it, and what we could not confirm.

We read the FPSC web notice "Schedule for Medical Examination of Written Qualified Candidates of CSS CE-2026" (dated 16 September 2026), its two challan forms, and the public notice of 18 September 2026 on the FPSC website, on 11 October 2026. We did not attend a medical board or call a centre.
