How to Download an Old Property Registry in Punjab From the RoD Portal
Get a copy of a lost or old property registry in Punjab from the RoD portal. See what you can search by, how to pay by PSID and what to check next. Start here.

Short answer: To get a copy of an old property registry in Punjab, create an account on the Registration of Deeds portal at rod.pulse.gop.pk. Choose the district and tehsil, search by CNIC, name or registry number with the record year, then print the challan, pay by PSID and download the scanned deed.
Say your father bought the house in 1998 and the registry paper is lost. Or a buyer asks for the previous deed before he pays you. Either way you need a copy of the old registry, and a trip to the Sub-Registrar office is not the only route any more.
We opened the Punjab Land Records Authority (PLRA) page on old e-registries and the Registration of Deeds (RoD) portal it links to, on 11 October 2026. We did not create an account or download a deed, so we describe the screens we could see and the steps the portal states.
The RoD portal holds scanned district registry records
PLRA says the RoD portal lets citizens access and download historical property registry documents online. The portal itself calls these scanned datasets of district registry records. If your registry is not there, the portal tells you to contact the team through the portal.
This is a copy service for deeds already registered. It is not the route to register a new sale. A new registry goes through the e-registration system described in how to register property online in Punjab.
| Need | Where to go |
|---|---|
| Copy of an old registered deed | RoD portal, rod.pulse.gop.pk |
| Register a new sale or gift deed | e-registration and e-stamp portals |
| Current ownership entries | A fard from the land record |
| Mutation on an old registry that is pending | District Collector, then the Arazi Record Centre |

You search by district, tehsil and one identifier
On the portal's search page you first pick the district and tehsil. Then you filter by CNIC number of the buyer, seller or commission, by name, or by registry number. There is also a record year field. Enter the CNIC without dashes, and write names in Urdu or English.
The portal lists results by tehsil name, mauza name, registry number and record date. When we opened the search page without any input, it showed no entries, as expected. The more details you know, the better your chance of a match. A year, a registry number and a tehsil narrow it most.
PLRA's own page lists the property address, registration number or owner's name as search inputs. The portal screen we saw offers CNIC, name, registry number and year, so use what the screen shows.
The account, payment and download steps
You register on the portal with a valid email address and activate the account through a verification email. After login you search, print the challan, pay it by PSID in a mobile wallet or banking app, and download the registry copy. The portal says false details can get an account blocked.
- Open the RoD portal and tap the register button if you have no account.
- Enter a valid email address and click the link in the verification email.
- Log in and select the district and tehsil.
- Search by CNIC, name or registry number, and add the record year if you know it.
- Choose the record and print it. The portal gives a challan number and a PSID.
- Pay the PSID through an app such as JazzCash or Easypaisa.
- After payment, download the registry copy and store it safely.

We could not read a fee for the copy on the pages we opened. The portal shows the amount on the challan at the print stage, so check it there. All payments follow the details you provide, so enter them correctly.
Check the copy before you rely on it
A downloaded deed shows who sold to whom in the past. It does not prove who owns the land today. Check the current owner with a fresh fard, and match the names, share and area in the old deed against it.
If the old registry never had its mutation entered, PLRA's FAQ says to apply to the District Collector, who verifies the details and issues permission. After approval you go to the Arazi Record Centre for the mutation in your favour. That step matters most in family sales done long ago on paper alone.
A buyer should compare the seller's registry with this record before paying, as in property registry verification before buying. For the wider check across the fard and the portals, see verifying land records before you pay.
If the registry is missing from the portal, you can also ask at the Sub-Registrar office of the tehsil. We did not confirm a separate procedure there, so ask the office what it needs.
Common questions
Is the RoD portal an official PLRA service?
Yes. PLRA's website lists Download an Old e-Registry and links to rod.pulse.gop.pk.
What can I search by on the portal?
The search screen offers CNIC, name or registry number after you pick the district and tehsil, with a record year field.
How do I pay for the copy?
The portal gives a challan number and PSID when you print. You pay through apps such as JazzCash or Easypaisa, then download.
What if my registry is not on the portal?
The portal says the records are scanned district datasets and asks you to contact the team through the portal if yours is missing.
Does an old registry prove I own the land today?
No. It shows a past transaction. Ownership today is shown by the land record, so get a current fard.
How we verified this
What we checked, where we read it, and what we could not confirm.
Last checked on Sunday 11 October 2026. We read the Punjab Land Records Authority's Download an Old e-Registry page and the Registration of Deeds portal instructions. We did not log in or download a deed, and the fee for a copy was not shown on the pages we saw.
