Egypt Visa for Pakistanis: No e-Visa for Pakistani Passports, Apply Through the Embassy
Can Pakistanis get an Egypt e-visa? No, Pakistan is not on the official portal's list. Fees for listed nationals, the embassy route, and papers to carry.

No, a Pakistani passport cannot get an Egypt e-visa. Egypt's official e-visa portal lists the nationalities that can apply online, and Pakistan is not on that list. The portal's $30 single entry and $65 multiple entry tourist e-visas are open only to those listed nationals. A Pakistani traveller has to get a visa through an Egyptian embassy or consulate before flying, and should confirm the process with the mission directly.
We read the FAQ on Egypt's Ministry of Interior e-visa portal on 7 November 2026 and checked the full list of eligible countries name by name. This guide explains what the portal says, why it matters for Pakistanis planning a holiday or a stopover in Cairo, and the checks to make before you pay for a ticket.
Pakistan is not on Egypt's e-visa country list
The portal says a foreigner wishing to enter Egypt generally must first obtain an e-visa through the portal, and that nationals of the listed countries may be issued one on application. It then lists about 80 countries. They include Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Qatar, Kuwait, Oman, Bahrain, India, China, Malaysia, the UK, the US and most of Europe. Pakistan, Bangladesh and Afghanistan are not there.
So the online route is closed to a Pakistani passport. If you fill in the form anyway and pick Pakistan as your nationality, do not pay: the portal says the e-visa is granted only to citizens of the countries shown on the site.
| Question | Answer from the portal |
|---|---|
| Can a Pakistani passport apply online? | No, Pakistan is not listed |
| Single entry tourist e-visa fee | $30, for listed nationals only |
| Multiple entry tourist e-visa fee | $65, for listed nationals only |
| How the fee is paid | Credit or debit card on the portal |
| Passport validity on arrival | At least 6 months |

Gulf residence does not change the e-visa list
Many Pakistanis who ask about Egypt live in Saudi Arabia, the UAE or Qatar. Those countries' own citizens are on Egypt's e-visa list. The list is by nationality, though, and the portal says nothing about residents of those countries. A Pakistani with an iqama or an Emirates ID is still a Pakistani national for this purpose, so the online route stays closed.
You may hear that Pakistanis with a valid US, UK or Schengen visa can get a visa on arrival in Egypt. We found no such rule on the official portal. Do not rely on it unless the Egyptian embassy confirms it to you in writing.
Apply through the Egyptian embassy before you fly
The safe route for a Pakistani is a visa issued by an Egyptian mission before travel. We could not open an official Egyptian embassy page for Pakistan during our check, so we cannot list its fee or documents. Use these steps to get a clear answer:
- Find the Egyptian embassy in Islamabad or the consulate in Karachi through Egypt's Ministry of Foreign Affairs or Pakistan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs list of foreign missions.
- Call or email the consular section and ask for the current visa form, fee and processing time for your purpose: tourism, business or family visit.
- If you live in the Gulf, ask the Egyptian consulate in your city instead, since missions usually handle residents of their own area.
- Prepare the papers the portal lists for arrival in any case: passport, itinerary, hotel booking and any invitation letter.
- Book your flight only after the visa is in your passport.
Be careful with phone numbers found on map listings. Two European embassies in Islamabad have reported fake numbers on Google. Our guide to checking a real embassy phone number shows how to confirm one.

Carry these documents when you land in Egypt
The portal lists what every visitor must show at an Egyptian port of arrival. These apply whether your visa came online or from an embassy:
- A passport valid for at least six months from the arrival date
- Your visa, or the e-visa printout for listed nationals
- A travel itinerary
- A supporting letter, such as a company letter for business or an invitation for a family visit
- Hotel bookings or details of the places you will visit, for tourists
The portal also warns that Egyptian port authorities can refuse entry to a visa holder without giving a reason. Carry printed copies of everything.
FIA immigration at a Pakistani airport may also check your Egyptian visa and onward papers. Our guide to checking a foreign visa before flying from Pakistan lists what officers ask for.
Transit through Cairo needs its own check
The portal does not say whether a Pakistani passport needs a visa to change planes at Cairo airport without leaving the transit area. Rules for transit differ from country to country, and some states require transit visas from Pakistanis. Austria, for example, requires one even in the airport transit zone, as our Austria visa guide explains. Ask your airline before you book a Cairo connection.
