Punjab's Health and Population Department lists 2,524 Maryam Nawaz Health Clinics, and all of them are marked functional. Of these, 1,973 are marked as 24/7 clinics. You can find the one nearest to you by district and tehsil on the department's official directory at pshealthpunjab.gov.pk, free, and download the whole list as an Excel file.

We pulled the full directory on 9 October 2026 and counted it ourselves. Faisalabad district has the most clinics, 173. Murree has the fewest, 23. The newest entry was added on 5 October 2026, the same day the department opened a clinic at Jorry Pull in Lahore.

Punjab lists 2,524 Maryam Nawaz Health Clinics

The official directory had 2,524 Maryam Nawaz Health Clinics on 9 October 2026, spread across 37 districts and all 9 divisions of Punjab. Every row was marked "Functional". About 78 per cent carry the "MNHC 24/7" label.

A Maryam Nawaz Health Clinic, or MNHC, is a primary health care point. Primary care means the first place you go for fever, cough, a child's illness or a check-up, before a hospital. In the directory, 2,521 clinics are classed as primary facilities and only 3 as secondary.

Many are not new buildings. In 799 rows, the address is a Basic Health Unit (BHU), the small rural government clinic most villages already know. So if your village BHU now has a new name board, that is probably why.

How to find the clinic nearest to you

Open the Maryam Nawaz Health Clinic page on the Health and Population Department's website and type your village, tehsil or district in the search box. The list shows each clinic's name, division, district, tehsil and phone number. It takes about two minutes.

  1. Go to pshealthpunjab.gov.pk and open Health Facilities, then Maryam Nawaz Health Clinic.
  2. Type your tehsil or village name in the "Search" box above the list.
  3. Read the clinic name. It usually carries the village or area name, such as "MNHC, Gowalmandi".
  4. Note the phone number if one is listed, and call before you travel.
  5. Press "Detail" on a row for more about that clinic.
  6. To keep the full list offline, press the "Excel" button. It downloads a file called MNHC.xls.
Steps to find a Maryam Nawaz Health Clinic on the Punjab health department directory

Searching by tehsil works better than by city. Big cities have many clinics with similar names. In Lahore, for example, the list includes Gowalmandi, Lohari Gate, Begumpura, Sanat Nagar and Wahga, all as separate clinics.

A missing phone number does not mean the clinic is closed. About 30 per cent of rows simply have no number. In that case, the Punjab health helpline 1033 can guide you, and it runs 24 hours a day.

Which districts have the most clinics

Faisalabad district leads with 173 clinics, followed by Sargodha with 129, Rahim Yar Khan with 106 and Bahawalnagar with 98. Lahore has 70. By division, Gujranwala has the most at 399 and Dera Ghazi Khan the fewest at 188.

The split between 24/7 and regular clinics differs a lot by place. This matters if you need care at night.

Lahore stands out. Only 23 of its 70 clinics carry the 24/7 label, the lowest share among the big districts. Lahore has more large hospitals, so a night emergency there usually goes to a hospital emergency ward anyway.

What the 24/7 label means for you

The directory marks 1,973 clinics as "MNHC 24/7" and 551 as plain "MNHC". The label is the department's own. It does not list opening hours for the other 551, so treat those as day clinics until you confirm by phone.

We did not visit or call any clinic, so we cannot confirm staff are present at 3 am in every one. Treat the label as the department's claim, not a promise. For anything serious at night, such as chest pain, heavy bleeding or a fit, go straight to a hospital emergency or call 1122.

How many Maryam Nawaz Health Clinics are marked 24/7 and how many are not

The clinics are run by doctors the department allots in phases. On 6 October 2026, the department said it was recruiting young doctors for Phases 1, 2 and 3 of the clinics. Its jobs page also carries allocation lists for Phase I and Phase II.

What to take, and where to go next

Take your CNIC, or your child's B-Form, plus any old prescriptions and test reports. A clinic is meant for first care. If the doctor refers you, the next step is usually the tehsil or district headquarters hospital.

Clinics also link to the province's other free schemes. A diabetic patient, for example, can ask about the CM insulin card and NCD clinics. A long cough is worth a free TB test in Punjab. For a baby, carry the vaccination card and check it against the free EPI vaccine schedule.

Reports describe the clinics as giving free treatment, essential medicines and vaccination every day. The department's directory itself does not list services or fees, so ask at the counter. If a clinic charges you or turns you away, call 1033 and note the clinic name and time.

Hospital admission is a different scheme. Punjab's Sehat Card covers inpatient care in listed hospitals, and what the Sehat Card pays now has changed since 2025. A clinic visit does not use your Sehat Card balance.
