A closed wooden box and a plain brass padlock on a dark wooden table, for news on FPSC tests postponed in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa

Short answer: FPSC has postponed its Phase-III/2026 general recruitment tests in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, at Peshawar and D.I. Khan, that were set for 12 to 19 October 2026. Tests in the other provinces and areas go ahead as scheduled. A revised KP schedule will come "at a later date".

If your admission certificate names a centre in Peshawar or D.I. Khan, do not travel on 12 October. The notice came out on Sunday 11 October 2026, the day before the first KP paper was due.

We opened the Federal Public Service Commission's notice board and read the public notice itself. It is a one-page PDF numbered F.1/4/2026-T&S-Coord. (Phase-III/2026) and dated 11 October 2026.

FPSC postponed the KP tests from 12 to 19 October

The notice says the general recruitment tests scheduled in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province from 12 October to 19 October 2026 "have been postponed". The notice names Peshawar and D.I. Khan in its subject line. It does not give a new date for any paper.

FPSC gives two reasons: the "prevailing situation" and "requests received from candidates and local invigilating staff". The notice does not describe the situation any further, so we do not either.

Summary of the FPSC notice postponing Phase-III tests in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa

Tests outside Khyber Pakhtunkhwa are not affected

The notice is explicit that recruitment tests scheduled in other provinces and areas will be held as per the notified schedule. That schedule runs from 12 to 19 October. FPSC had repeated this on 7 October, when it said tests "will be held accordingly".

The CSS MPT paper was held on 10 October, before this notice. Its answer key is already out, and we cover it in the CSS MPT 2027 answer key. The postponement does not touch that exam.

FPSC's 8 October notice also named 17 cases where a calculator is allowed. If your paper is in that list and in a KP centre, the date on it no longer stands. The rule itself is unchanged, as we explained in the FPSC calculator list for Phase 3.

What the notice does not tell candidates

The notice leaves several practical questions open. It does not say whether a candidate living in KP but holding a centre in another province is affected. It does not say whether the fee is carried over. Wait for the revised schedule before assuming anything.

The notice is about tests "scheduled in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province". Our reading is that the centre printed on your admission certificate is what counts. That is our reading, not FPSC's wording, so confirm it on the FPSC site if your centre sits near the provincial border.

FPSC also published a separate postponement on 24 September for the Professor test under case F.4-152/2026-R. That is a different matter and a different notice.

What to do if your centre is Peshawar or D.I. Khan

Keep your admission certificate, do not travel, and watch the FPSC notice board for the revised schedule. FPSC says candidates should visit its website regularly. Its homepage also states that no claim is accepted if a candidate ignored information on the website.

  1. Open your admission certificate and note the centre, date and case number. The steps to download it are in how to download the FPSC admission certificate.
  2. If the centre is Peshawar or D.I. Khan, treat the 12 to 19 October date as cancelled.
  3. Keep the certificate. FPSC has not said whether a new one will be issued.
  4. Check fpsc.gov.pk each day for the revised KP schedule, and watch your email and SMS.
  5. Read any new notice twice before you book a bus or a hotel.

Only FPSC's web notice, email and SMS count

In August 2026 FPSC said it will contact general recruitment candidates through web notice, email and SMS only for the test, scrutiny, rejection and selection stages. A forwarded image or a message from a WhatsApp group is not an official channel.

That matters here, because postponement news travels fast and so do fake "new dates". We cover the August rule in how FPSC contacts candidates. Until FPSC posts the revised KP schedule itself, any date you see elsewhere is unconfirmed.

Common questions

Are FPSC tests postponed in all of Pakistan?

No. Only the Phase-III general recruitment tests in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, at Peshawar and D.I. Khan, are postponed. Other provinces and areas follow the notified schedule.

When will the postponed FPSC tests be held?

FPSC has not said. The notice states a revised schedule "shall be issued at a later date" and tells candidates to keep checking www.fpsc.gov.pk.

Why were the tests postponed?

FPSC cites the "prevailing situation" and requests from candidates and local invigilating staff. The notice gives no further detail.

Do I need to download a new admission certificate?

The notice does not say. Keep the one you have and check the FPSC site for instructions when the revised schedule is announced.

Will my application fee be refunded?

The notice says nothing about fees. The tests are postponed, not cancelled, so wait for FPSC's next notice before drawing any conclusion.

Where can I confirm the news?

Check the FPSC notice board at www.fpsc.gov.pk or contact the commission on fpsc@fpsc.gov.pk or +92-51-111000248, both listed on its homepage.

How we verified this

What we checked, where we read it, and what we could not confirm.

Last checked on Sunday 11 October 2026 at about 5:45 pm PKT. We read the FPSC public notice dated 11 October 2026 (No. F.1/4/2026-T&S-Coord., Phase-III/2026), its notice of 7 October 2026 on the conduct of tests from 10 to 19 October, and the homepage of the Federal Public Service Commission. We did not see a revised KP schedule. This page will change when FPSC issues one.
