CSS MPT 2027 Answer Key Out: FPSC Posts 3 Keys, 66 of 200 Needed to Pass
FPSC posted the CSS MPT 2027 answer keys on 10 October 2026: Batch-1, Batch-2 and Non Muslims. Check your score in five steps. The pass mark is 66 of 200.

The Federal Public Service Commission (FPSC) has published the official answer keys for the CSS 2027 MCQ-based Preliminary Test (MPT), held on Saturday 10 October 2026. There are three keys: Batch-1 and Batch-2 for Muslim candidates, and one for non-Muslim candidates. You need 66 correct answers out of 200 to pass.
FPSC posted the keys on its website on 10 October 2026, the same day as the test, under the notice "CE-2027 (MPT) Answer Keys". We downloaded all three PDF files and read every row. Each key lists the right option, A to D, for questions 1 to 200.

FPSC published three CSS MPT 2027 answer keys on 10 October
FPSC released one key for each paper it set on 10 October. Muslim candidates sat in two batches with different papers, so each batch has its own key. Non-Muslim candidates had a separate paper and a separate key.
Using the wrong key is the most common mistake here. The Batch-1 and Batch-2 papers are not the same. When we compared the two keys, 143 of the 200 answers were different. So if you check your answers against the wrong batch, your count will be badly off.
| Answer key | Who it is for | Questions |
|---|---|---|
| CSS 2027 Batch-1 | Muslim candidates who sat the Batch-1 paper | 1 to 200 |
| CSS 2027 Batch-2 | Muslim candidates who sat the Batch-2 paper | 1 to 200 |
| CSS 2027 Non Muslims | Non-Muslim candidates | 1 to 200 |
The non-Muslim key matches Batch-1 from question 21 to question 200. Only questions 1 to 20 are different. That fits the MPT rules, which set a 20 mark first section that is Islamic Studies for Muslim candidates and a different subject for non-Muslims.
Check your CSS MPT score in five steps
You can work out a close estimate of your MPT score in about 15 minutes. You need your question paper or a note of your answers, and the right answer key from the FPSC website.
- Open fpsc.gov.pk and click "CE-2027 (MPT) Answer Keys" under Latest Updates.
- Download the key for your paper: Batch-1, Batch-2 or Non Muslims.
- Mark each of your answers right or wrong against the key, question by question.
- Count the correct answers. Each one is worth 1 mark, so the count is your score out of 200.
- Compare your score with 66. At 66 or above, you are likely to pass. Below 66, you are likely to miss it this year.

Your own count is only an estimate. FPSC's keys carry a note: due care has been taken, but the Commission "reserves the rights of rectifying any error and omission" at any time. So a key can still change. Bubbling mistakes on the answer sheet also count against you, and you cannot see those at home.
The pass mark is 33 percent, or 66 out of 200
The MPT is a screening test. It decides who may sit the written exam. Under the MPT rules in S.R.O. 1510(I)/2021, the test has 200 marks, lasts 200 minutes, and you qualify with 33 percent. That is 66 correct answers.
The same rules split the 200 marks into five parts:
| Part of the MPT | Marks |
|---|---|
| Islamic Studies (or the alternative paper for non-Muslims) | 20 |
| Urdu | 20 |
| English | 50 |
| General Abilities | 60 |
| General Knowledge | 50 |
The 66 mark threshold is for the whole paper. The rules do not set a separate pass mark for each part. A pass is valid only for the same year's written exam, so passing the 2027 MPT lets you sit CSS 2027, not a later round.

FPSC has not yet announced the MPT result date
The answer keys are not the result. FPSC will publish the MPT result on its website. Under the MPT rules, results are announced on the website only, with no letters sent to candidates. When we checked on the evening of 10 October 2026, FPSC had not given a date for the result.
When it comes out, the way to look it up is the same as for other FPSC results. You can check your FPSC result and marks sheet online once it is posted.
Do not trust result dates or "expected cut-offs" shared on social media. FPSC's own notices say that its website is the only source it stands behind.
What comes next for CSS 2027 candidates
Only MPT passers can apply for the CSS 2027 written exam. FPSC's tentative schedule, published on 5 July 2026, gives these dates:
- Written exam advertisement: 8 November 2026
- Online applications: 10 to 25 November 2026
- Hard copy of the application with documents: by 4 December 2026
- Written papers: from 27 January 2027
FPSC calls these dates tentative. The binding dates will be in the written exam advertisement. The full timeline, fees and eligibility rules are set out in the CSS 2027 schedule and how to apply.
So use the next few weeks well. If your count is comfortably above 66, start choosing your optional subjects now. FPSC's rules make your subject choice final once the written exam application closes. If your count is close to 66, wait for the result before you plan anything big. The MPT was originally set for 27 September and was moved to 10 October by an FPSC notice of 19 August, so the written exam timetable has little room left to slip.

How we verified this
What we checked, where we read it, and what we could not confirm.
Last checked at about 7:30 pm PKT on 10 October 2026. We downloaded and read FPSC's three answer key PDFs (CSS 2027 Batch-1, CSS 2027 Batch-2 and CSS 2027 Non Muslims) from fpsc.gov.pk and compared them row by row. We also read FPSC's public notice of 7 October 2026 confirming the MPT on 10 October, the MPT rules notified as S.R.O. 1510(I)/2021, and FPSC's advance public notice of 5 July 2026 for the tentative written exam dates. We did not sit the test, so we have not seen the question papers.
