FPSC Moves CSS MPT 2027 to 10 October, Admission Certificates Out

The CSS MPT 2027 is on Saturday 10 October 2026, not Sunday 27 September. The Federal Public Service Commission (FPSC) moved the MCQ-based Preliminary Test in a public notice dated 19 August 2026, and online admission certificates for the new date went up on its website on 24 September.

So if you applied for the CSS MPT 2027, do not travel to a test centre tomorrow. Download your admission certificate and plan for 10 October instead.

We read the FPSC rescheduling notice, the original MPT notice of 2 August 2026 and the admission certificate page on 26 September 2026. We could not open an admission certificate ourselves, because the page asks for a candidate's own name and CNIC.

FPSC moved the CSS MPT 2027 to 10 October

FPSC's notice No. F.2-2/2027(MPT)/CE-II, dated 19 August 2026, says the MPT for CSS Competitive Examination 2027 "has been rescheduled to be held on 10th October, 2026 (Saturday) instead of earlier announced date of 27.09.2026 (Sunday)". Everything else stays the same.

The notice was signed by FPSC's Assistant Director (CE) and posted on the Commission's website on 20 August. It was not issued this week. Many candidates are only hearing about it now, as the old date comes close.

FPSC gave a planned protest as the reason

FPSC says it moved the test "in view of the announcement of a protest on 27th September, 2026". It adds that the change is "for the convenience of the aspirants" and to keep the test smooth and orderly. The notice does not name who announced the protest.

That reason makes sense for a test sat in 19 cities on the same morning. A candidate stuck behind a closed road cannot sit the paper later. Islamabad has already seen road closures around the capital this month, and that is exactly the kind of day FPSC wanted to avoid.

FPSC has not published a new notice since 19 August that changes the 10 October date. We checked its full list of notices, including expired ones, on 26 September 2026.

Admission certificates for 10 October are already online

FPSC posted the CE-2027 (MPT) online admission certificates on 24 September 2026. The listing stays up until 11 October, the day after the test. You download your own certificate; FPSC does not send one by post or email.

1. Go to the FPSC website and open the Exams schedule, then the CSS section.
2. Click "CE-2027 (MPT) - Online Admission Certificates".
3. Read the notice and tick that you agree to the CSS Rules.
4. Enter your name and your CNIC in the 12345-1234567-1 format.
5. Download and print the certificate. Check the centre, date and time on it.

The certificates were posted after the date change, so they are for 10 October. FPSC's notice does not mention any certificate printed for 27 September, and we found none on its website. If your printout shows 27 September, it is not from the current listing. Download it again.

Bring three things to the hall on 10 October

Under the MPT rule notified in S.R.O. 1510(I)/2021, you will not be let into the hall without your original CNIC, the original fee receipt and your admission certificate, unless FPSC decides otherwise. Keep all three together the night before.

Check the expiry date on your CNIC today. If it has lapsed, start a CNIC renewal now, since 10 October is two weeks away. If you have lost it, NADRA's lost CNIC process is the route.

Your exam centre cannot be changed. FPSC's 2 August notice says "Examination Centre once selected shall not be changed", and the rescheduling notice keeps every other condition the same. So the city you picked in August is the city you sit in.

The MPT paper itself has not changed

The test is still one paper of 200 multiple choice questions over 200 minutes. You need 33 percent to pass. The subjects and marks come from Appendix-III of the CSS Competitive Examination Rules, 2019, added by the 2021 amendment.

Passing the MPT only lets you apply for the written exam of the same year. FPSC's tentative schedule puts the written exam advertisement on 8 November 2026 and the written papers from 27 January 2027. The full route, with eligibility and the online application, is in the CSS 2027 exam schedule.
