A Free Fire hack APK or mod menu gets your account banned. Garena counts any modified game client or unofficial program as cheating, says Free Fire has "a zero-tolerance policy against cheating", and lists seven actions that lead to a ban. The "unlimited diamonds" hack apps are worse: they give no diamonds and are built to take your login or your phone.

Searches for "FF hack", "diamond hack" or "mod menu" lead to sideloaded APKs, which are apps installed from outside the Play Store. If the phone is a shared family phone, everyone's apps are at risk, not just the game. We read Garena's Free Fire support pages and Google's Android Help on 25 October 2026. This page covers the ban rules, what fake apps really do, and what to do if one is already on the phone.

Garena lists seven actions that can get a Free Fire account banned

Garena's ban notice names seven actions, from using a modified game client to bypassing its anti-hack system. A hack APK or mod menu falls under the first three. Garena does not publish a softer rule for "small" hacks or for first-time players.

Ban reason Garena listsWhat it covers in practice
Using a modified or unauthorised game clientA "Free Fire Max mod" or hacked APK of the game
Using unauthorised tools that interact with the gameMod menus and injectors
Using non-official programs for an edgeAimbot, wallhack, auto headshot
Modifying model filesChanged skins or maps for visibility
Exploiting glitches or bugsDeliberate bug abuse in matches
Abnormal in-game behaviourSpeed hacks and teleporting
Bypassing the anti-hack systemIllicit local data transfer tricks

Garena also asks players "not to team up with hackers". Playing in a squad with someone using a hack is its own risk, and Garena has a separate notice about it.

Temporary bans come with a pop-up that shows the length

Garena says some violations lead to temporary bans whose length depends on the violation. A ban window appears when you log in and shows how long it lasts. The listed reasons are non-official model files, abnormal in-game behaviour and abnormal account login.

The third reason matters for anyone who shares or buys accounts. A login from a new place or device that looks abnormal can trigger a temporary ban too. Garena does not publish the exact durations. Its support pages also give no appeal route for a cheating ban that we could find, so assume a banned account is gone.

"Diamond hack" apps give no diamonds and take your login

No app or website can add diamonds to your Free Fire account except Garena's own store and the in-game shop. A "diamond generator" or "diamond hack APK" asks for your Facebook or Google login, or for permissions it should never need. Either way, the person who made it gains, and you lose.

The real ways to buy diamonds in Pakistan are inside the game, through Google Play or the App Store, and on Garena's official top-up site. Our page on Free Fire diamonds top-up in Pakistan lists the payment methods, including Easypaisa and JazzCash. Codes are also real only when Garena issues them, as the steps for Free Fire redeem codes explain.

Android warns that sideloaded apps can read your screen

Google says apps from unknown sources can put your device and personal information at risk. It also blocks some settings, such as accessibility access, for sideloaded apps, because that access lets an app "read content on your screen and interact with apps on your behalf". A hack app asking for it is a red flag.

Think about what else is on the phone. A sibling's JazzCash or Easypaisa, a parent's banking app, the family WhatsApp. An app that can read the screen can read those too. Google says it does not recommend allowing restricted settings "unless you trust the app developer", and nobody should trust the developer of a cheat.

Play Protect, Google's built-in scanner, checks apps from outside the Play Store and may disable or remove harmful ones. Keep it on.

Already installed a hack APK? Clean the phone in six steps

Uninstall the app, run Play Protect, and change the password of the Facebook or Google account linked to Free Fire from a clean device. Then check any wallet on the phone for transfers you did not make. Do it today, before the next match.

  1. Turn on airplane mode so the app stops sending data.
  2. Uninstall the hack app. If it will not uninstall, check Settings for device admin access and remove it first.
  3. Open the Play Store, tap your profile icon, then Play Protect, and make sure scanning is on.
  4. From another device, change the password of the Facebook or Google account bound to Free Fire.
  5. Check JazzCash, Easypaisa and bank apps on the phone for transfers you did not make.
  6. Turn off "install unknown apps" for the browser, WhatsApp and file manager.

Our steps to remove a fake APK from an Android phone go further if the app hides its icon. The airplane mode step is our own advice, not Garena's.

Report cheaters in the game, and fraud to the NCCIA

Garena says to report suspected cheaters with the in-game report function, and that every report helps it detect and ban them. Its support site also has an account check tool for a player ID you reported. If someone stole your account or money, that is a crime to report to the NCCIA.

On Garena's Free Fire support page, the check tool says "There is currently not enough evidence to prove that this account is using hacks" when it finds nothing. For a stolen account, a fake top-up seller or wallet fraud, call your wallet's helpline first, then complain to the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency on 1799. A failed real top-up is different, and the steps for a Free Fire top-up not received cover refunds.

Common questions

Will I get banned for using a Free Fire hack only once?

You can. Garena lists using a modified client or unofficial program as a ban reason, with no exception for one-time use.

Is there any safe Free Fire mod menu?

No. Garena calls any unauthorised third-party program or modified client cheating, so every mod menu risks a ban.

Can a diamond hack app really give free diamonds?

No. Diamonds come only from Garena's store, the in-game shop and real Garena codes. A hack app is a scam.

Can I get banned for playing with a hacker?

Garena warns players not to team up with hackers and has a separate notice on it. Leave squads that use hacks.

How do I report a Free Fire hacker?

Use the in-game report function after the match. Garena says reports help it find and ban cheaters.

My Free Fire account was stolen by a fake site. What now?

Change the password of the linked Facebook or Google account at once, contact Garena support, and report it to the NCCIA on 1799.

How we verified this

What we checked, where we read it, and what we could not confirm.

We read Garena's Free Fire support page, its ban notice and its temporary ban notice, and Google's Android Help on restricted settings, unknown sources and Play Protect, on 25 October 2026. Garena's pages do not mention diamond generators or third-party sellers by name, so the offer table is our own reading of where diamonds can come from. NCCIA's helpline comes from our read of its site on 24 October 2026.
