The gold rate in Pakistan on the morning of Thursday 1 October 2026 is Rs 441,636 per tola for 24 karat and Rs 378,631 per 10 grams. That is the All Pakistan Sarafa Gems and Jewellers Association rate set on Wednesday 30 September, after a rise of Rs 4,300 a tola. Thursday's own session had not been held when we wrote this.

So treat Rs 441,636 as the rate gold opens with today, not a new Thursday price. The association sets its rate once a day, usually in the afternoon. Until then, any site that shows a "1 October" figure is showing Wednesday's number or a guess.

We could not read the rate at source. The association has no website we could find, the same problem we noted on 16, 25 and 26 September. Every rate below is the association's figure as reported on 28, 29 and 30 September. We checked that the reports agree and that the daily changes add up.

The gold rate in Pakistan is Rs 441,636 a tola going into 1 October

Gold is Rs 441,636 per tola and Rs 378,631 per 10 grams for 24 karat, the association rate set on 30 September 2026. For 22 karat, 10 grams is Rs 347,091, as reported. Silver is Rs 6,578 a tola, and international gold was reported at about 4,191 dollars an ounce.

The 22 karat tola figure is a simple fraction of the 24 karat rate. The association's own 22 karat figure for 10 grams is about Rs 13 higher than the same sum gives, so expect small gaps of that size. A gram of 24 karat works out at about Rs 37,863.

These are metal prices. A jeweller adds making charges and a margin on top, and the tola and karat arithmetic behind every rate list is the one we used here.

Gold is down Rs 9,300 a tola since our last reading

Our last report put gold at Rs 450,936 on Saturday 26 September. Since then it fell Rs 12,800 on Monday and Rs 800 on Tuesday, then rose Rs 4,300 on Wednesday. The net change is a fall of Rs 9,300 a tola, about 2.1 per cent.

  1. 26 September: Rs 450,936 a tola, the rate in our Saturday report.
  2. 28 September: down Rs 12,800 to Rs 438,136, with the ounce falling sharply.
  3. 29 September: down Rs 800 to Rs 437,336, the lowest rate in September.
  4. 30 September: up Rs 4,300 to Rs 441,636, with the ounce up about 43 dollars.

Those three changes add up to minus Rs 9,300. That matches the gap between Rs 450,936 and Rs 441,636 exactly. The 10 gram rates add up the same way, from Rs 386,604 to Rs 378,631.

September ended Rs 24,500 a tola lower than it began

Gold started September at Rs 466,136 a tola and ended it at Rs 441,636. That is a fall of Rs 24,500, about 5.3 per cent, by our arithmetic. Most of it came in the last two weeks, after a Rs 7,900 rise in mid month.

26 SeptemberRs 450,936Down Rs 9,300, about 2.1 per cent
29 September, the month's lowRs 437,336Up Rs 4,300

The fall that began on 21 September has now run for most of two weeks, with only two up days. Wednesday's rise is the first sign of a pause, not proof of a turn.

The ounce price drove the moves, not the rupee

The Pakistani rate follows the international ounce price turned into rupees per tola. The ounce fell from about 4,284 dollars on 26 September to about 4,148 on 29 September, then rose to about 4,191. The local rate moved with it.

A tola is 0.375 of an ounce. At 4,191 dollars, a tola of gold is worth about 1,572 dollars. Divide Rs 441,636 by that and you get about Rs 281 per dollar, the same figure we found on 26 September. The rupee stayed still while the ounce moved.

That Rs 281 is our own sum, not an exchange rate you can trade at. One report on Monday linked the big fall to rising US Treasury yields. That is a market view, and we cannot check it. Nobody can tell you Thursday's rate before the session.

Buyers should wait for the day's rate and compare making charges

If you are buying today, ask the shop which day's rate it is using. Before the afternoon session, a fair answer is Wednesday's Rs 441,636. After the session, it should be Thursday's new rate.

  1. Note the association rate and the date it was set.
  2. Ask for the gold rate and the making charge as two separate figures.
  3. Check the karat stamp. 916 means 22 karat and 875 means 21 karat.
  4. Get the weight, karat, rate and making charge written on the receipt.
  5. If you are selling, ask for the shop's buying rate first. It is lower than the association rate.

Rate websites can show old numbers under today's date. In August we opened three of them within minutes and got three different prices. Treat any figure without a date and a session as stale.

How we verified this

What we checked, where we read it, and what we could not confirm.

Last checked at about 6:30am PKT on 1 October 2026, before Thursday's session. Gold rates change every session, so check the day's rate before you buy or sell.

We could not read the All Pakistan Sarafa Gems and Jewellers Association rate at source, because we found no website for it. The rates for 28, 29 and 30 September, in tola and 10 gram terms, and the silver rates are the association's figures as reported on those days, and several reports agree on each. The ounce prices are reported. The 26 September and 1 September rates are from our earlier reports. The 22 and 21 karat tola rates, the per gram rate, the changes over the week and month and the implied rupee per dollar figure are our own arithmetic.
