The gold rate in Pakistan today, Saturday 26 September 2026, is Rs 450,936 per tola for 24 karat and Rs 386,604 per 10 grams. That is the All Pakistan Sarafa Gems and Jewellers Association rate set on Saturday afternoon, after a fall of Rs 2,100 a tola. Silver is Rs 6,903 a tola.

Many morning reports on Saturday gave the rate as Rs 453,036. That was Friday's number. On Friday 25 September gold rose Rs 4,700 a tola, from Rs 448,336 to Rs 453,036. On Saturday it gave back Rs 2,100 of that rise. So if you saw Rs 453,036 this morning, it is already out of date.

We could not read the rate at source. The association has no website we could find, the same problem we noted on 16 and 25 September. Every rate below is the association's figure as reported on 25 and 26 September. We checked that the reports agree with each other and that the daily changes add up.

The gold rate today in Pakistan is Rs 450,936 a tola

Gold is Rs 450,936 per tola and Rs 386,604 per 10 grams for 24 karat, the association rate set on 26 September 2026. That is Rs 2,100 lower than Friday. Silver is Rs 6,903 a tola, and international gold was reported at about 4,284 dollars an ounce.

The association publishes 24 karat only. The 22, 21 and 18 karat figures are simple fractions of the 24 karat rate, and our Friday numbers match the ones printed in the press exactly. A gram of 24 karat works out at about Rs 38,660 today, because a tola is 11.664 grams. Ten grams of silver comes to about Rs 5,918 by the same sum.

No shop will sell you jewellery at these numbers. They are the price of the metal. Making charges and the shop's margin go on top, and the tola and karat arithmetic behind every rate list is the same one we used here.

Gold rose on Friday and fell back on Saturday

Gold ended a four day fall on Friday with a Rs 4,700 rise, then lost Rs 2,100 on Saturday. Across the whole week it is down Rs 9,300 a tola, from Rs 460,236 on Monday morning to Rs 450,936, about 2 per cent by our arithmetic.

Gold rate per tola in Pakistan each day from 22 to 26 September 2026

The six sessions this week, in order, as reported:

  1. 21 September: down Rs 2,700 to Rs 457,536.
  2. 22 September: down Rs 1,800 to Rs 455,736.
  3. 23 September: down Rs 1,800 to Rs 453,936.
  4. 24 September: down Rs 5,600 to Rs 448,336, the lowest rate this month.
  5. 25 September: up Rs 4,700 to Rs 453,036, with the ounce up about 47 dollars.
  6. 26 September: down Rs 2,100 to Rs 450,936, with the ounce down about 21 dollars.

Those six changes add up to minus Rs 9,300, which is exactly the gap between Monday's opening rate and today's. That check matters, because a wrong number in one report usually breaks the chain.

Thursday's low came at the end of a Rs 11,900 fall in four sessions. Two days later, gold sits Rs 2,600 above that low. Anyone who bought on Thursday is slightly ahead. Anyone who waited for a lower price has not had it yet.

The ounce price explains both moves

The Pakistani rate follows the international ounce price, turned into rupees per tola. On Friday the ounce rose about 47 dollars and the local rate rose. On Saturday the ounce fell about 21 dollars and the local rate fell. The rupee did not move either result.

The arithmetic is short. A tola is 0.375 of an ounce. At 4,284 dollars an ounce, a tola of gold is worth about 1,607 dollars. Divide Rs 450,936 by that and you get about Rs 281 per dollar. Friday's figures give the same Rs 281, and so did Thursday's. The number that moved was the ounce, not the rupee.

That Rs 281 is our own sum, not an exchange rate you can trade at. It includes the local premium. Still, it is a useful test. When the ounce moves and the tola rate does not follow within a session or two, something local is going on. This week there was no sign of that.

One report on Saturday said gold is under pressure from a stronger US dollar and from expectations that the US Federal Reserve will keep interest rates high. It also said demand for safe assets should limit big falls. Those are market views, and we cannot check them. Nobody can tell you Monday's rate tonight.

Buyers should compare the making charge, not only the rate

A Rs 2,100 change in a day is small next to making charges. On a 22 karat set of 2 tolas, the metal is worth about Rs 17,000 less than it was on Monday. A making charge a few per cent higher at one shop can cancel that saving, so ask for both numbers separately.

  1. Note the association rate and the date it was set. Today's is Rs 450,936, not the Rs 453,036 in morning reports.
  2. Ask the shop for its gold rate and its making charge as two separate figures.
  3. Check the karat stamp. 916 means 22 karat and 875 means 21 karat, because those are the gold shares in parts per thousand.
  4. Get the weight, karat, rate and making charge written on the receipt.
  5. If you are selling, ask for the shop's buying rate first. It is lower than the association rate, and the gap is the shop's margin.

Rate websites can mislead too. In August we opened three of them within minutes and got three different prices. Some pages still show a rate from days ago under today's heading. Check the date and the session on any number before you use it, and treat anything without a date as stale.

Last checked and sources

Last checked at about 11pm PKT on 26 September 2026. Gold rates change every session, so check the day's rate before you buy or sell.

We could not read the All Pakistan Sarafa Gems and Jewellers Association rate at source, because we found no website for it. Saturday's rates of Rs 450,936 per tola, Rs 386,604 per 10 grams and Rs 6,903 for silver, and Friday's rates of Rs 453,036, Rs 388,404 and Rs 6,963, are the association's figures as reported on 25 and 26 September. Several reports agree on each number. The international prices of about 4,305 and 4,284 dollars are reported. The earlier rates this week are also the association's as reported, and they appear in our 25 September report. The 22, 21 and 18 karat rates, the per gram rate, the 10 gram silver rate, the weekly change and the implied rupee per dollar figure are our own arithmetic.
