How to Register for Hajj From Pakistan

Hajj registration from Pakistan is free, and it is open right now. You register once, and you can perform Hajj in any year from 2027 to 2030.

That is new. Until this year you applied for a single Hajj year and started again if you were not selected. Pakistan's federal cabinet approved a four year Hajj policy on 7 July 2026, and it changed the shape of the whole process.

It runs a Hajj Management System with sign up, login, Check Status and Application Inquiry, and it is footered by the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony and built by the National Information Technology Board. That is the official route.

Before anything else: check the year on what you are reading

This is the single biggest source of confusion right now, and it will cost you time.

Search for Hajj applications from Pakistan today and you will find confident pages saying applications open on 4 August, close on 9 August, and reopen from 11 to 16 August. Those pages describe the 2025 cycle for Hajj 2026, and that Hajj has already happened.

Hajj falls around May or June, so applications run roughly a year ahead. Check the publication date on anything you read, including this page.

Registration is free and has no fixed closing date

There is no fee to register. If anyone is charging you a registration fee, that is not the government scheme.

Registration for Hajj 2027 opened on 22 June 2026. It is processed first come, first served, and it stays open until the quota is filled rather than closing on a set date. Pakistan's total quota is reported as 179,210 pilgrims, subject to final confirmation by the Saudi authorities.

Three ways to register

All three lead to the same system. Use whichever you are comfortable with.

1. The website. Create an account at hajj.mora.gov.pk. You can log in by email, mobile number or CNIC.
2. The Pak Hajj mobile app, the ministry's own app.
3. A designated bank branch. Registration is handled through branches of the scheduled banks, which have included National Bank of Pakistan, HBL, UBL, MCB, Allied Bank, Bank of Punjab, Bank Alfalah, Faysal Bank, Askari Bank, Bank Al-Habib, Habib Metropolitan, Soneri Bank, Meezan Bank and BankIslami.

What you need before you start

• A valid CNIC. Registration is tied to it.
• A machine readable Pakistani passport. Sources disagree on the validity date required, giving 16 November 2027 in some places and 26 November 2027 in others. • A mobile number and email you will still have access to next year.
• Your preferred Hajj year within the 2027 to 2030 window.

What it will cost, and what nobody knows yet

We are going to be straight with you here, because this is where most published figures are guesses.

The full package price for Hajj 2027 has not been announced. Any total you see quoted is an estimate or a marketing figure, not a notified national rate.

What has been reported is the instalment structure. The initial deposit is Rs 500,000 for the long duration package and Rs 550,000 for the short duration package, with the balance payable later. The policy allows payment in two instalments rather than one lump sum, which is one of its main changes.

There is also a Shariah compliant Hajj Savings Scheme. Under it you can deposit about 10 per cent of the estimated cost to secure priority registration for your preferred year, again on a first come, first served basis.

We could not read the ministry's own announcement page to confirm these figures. mora.gov.pk responds, but its news section returned a server error to us, so every figure in this section is reported rather than verified against the ministry's own words. Confirm the current amounts at the bank counter before you pay anything.

How selection works now

The old system ran a balloting round for each year. The four year policy replaces most of that with a priority waiting list.

You register once and name a preferred year. Demand is managed through the waiting list, so registering earlier improves your position rather than entering you into a fresh draw each year. If you are not called for 2027, your registration carries forward instead of lapsing.

Government scheme or private operator

The quota is split between the two. Roughly 179,210 places in total are divided between the government scheme and private tour operators, with the government scheme holding the larger share.

The government scheme is cheaper and is administered through the ministry and the banks. Private operators cost more, vary widely in what they include, and are worth checking against the ministry's list of licensed operators before you pay a deposit. A private package that undercuts the government scheme substantially is a reason to ask more questions, not fewer.

Steps to take this week

1. Check your passport expiry. If it runs out before late 2027, renew it first, and our passport application guide covers the current process.

3. Pay nothing to register. Registration is free. Payment comes at the instalment stage.
4. Keep your registration number and the mobile number you used. Status checks depend on both.
5. Ignore any total package price until the ministry notifies one.
