The HEC HAT result for the MS, MPhil and PhD test held on Sunday 25 October 2026 is due on 16 November 2026, and you check it by signing in at etc.hec.gov.pk with your CNIC and password. The same score counts for university admission and for HEC scholarships, including the Commonwealth nomination, which needs at least 60 out of 100.
We read the Education Testing Council (ETC) announcements page, ETC's revised Test Calendar for 2026, the HAT advertisement and HEC's Commonwealth Scholarship notice on 31 October 2026. Below: the result date, how to sign in, the scores that matter for MS, PhD and scholarships, what to do if the password fails, and the December retake.

- Save the page as a PDF. Universities and HEC's scholarship portal ask for it.
Forgot the password? ETC's own guide sends a 5 digit code to your registered email from etc@hec.gov.pk, and you must enter it before the timer ends. Each screen and error message is explained in our ETC portal login and password reset walk through.

The score you need: 50 for MS, 60 for PhD and Commonwealth
HAT has no single pass mark. What counts is the minimum each user sets. HEC's Commonwealth notice asks for at least 60 out of 100 in HAT-I to HAT-IV. University MS and PhD rules usually ask for 50 and 60 per cent.
Take one university as an example. IIUI's admission rules, which we read on 31 October, ask MS applicants for GRE, HAT General or an equivalent HEC accredited test with at least 50 per cent, and PhD applicants for a minimum passing score of 60 per cent. Other universities write their own numbers, so read each notice.
| Use of your HAT score | Minimum we found | Source |
|---|---|---|
| Commonwealth Scholarship nomination 2027 | 60 out of 100, HAT-I to IV only | HEC Commonwealth notice |
| MS or MPhil admission (example: IIUI) | 50 per cent | IIUI admission rules |
| PhD admission (example: IIUI) | 60 per cent | IIUI admission rules |
| Other HEC scholarships | Set in each scholarship notice | HAT advertisement |
Commonwealth applicants do not have to upload the score themselves
HEC says the 25 October 2026 HAT is the last test that counts for the Commonwealth Scholarship Program 2027. Because the result comes after the 20 October application deadline, HEC will add valid scores to applications automatically after results.
The notice also says merit is decided strictly on HAT score, and a tie goes to the higher percentage in the last degree. HAT tests taken for Pakistani university admissions are not accepted for this scholarship, and only HAT-I, II, III and IV count, not HAT-General. HEC expects nominations in December 2026 and results from the Commonwealth Scholarship Commission in July 2027. Our page on the Commonwealth Scholarship through HEC covers the full route.
The HAT advertisement also says the result is valid for HEC scholarships including the Chinese Government and Hungarian schemes. That is useful if you plan to apply for the Chinese Government Scholarship next.

Mark your paper now and plan the 13 December retake
HEC has posted answer keys for HAT-MS and HAT-PhD in all five categories and booklet colours. Count your correct answers out of 100 to estimate your score. If it looks short of 60, the next HAT is on Sunday 13 December 2026.
Registration for the December sitting opens on 8 November and closes on 22 November 2026, before this result is due. So decide on the estimate from the keys, not the official score. The keys are on our HAT answer key page for 25 October, and the December timetable is in our December 2026 USAT and HAT registration page.

How we verified this
What we checked, where we read it, and what we could not confirm.
Last checked 31 October 2026. We read the ETC announcements page, the revised ETC Test Calendar 2026, the HAT advertisement image and HEC's Commonwealth Scholarship 2027/28 notice on 31 October 2026, plus IIUI's admission rules on iiu.edu.pk. No HAT result for 25 October had been posted, so 16 November is the calendar date, not a confirmed release. We could not open the logged-in result screen, which needs a candidate account. Answer key details come from our own earlier page, which read HEC's key files on 28 October.
